“She said she was going to go walk the dog, and she was never seen again,” Lindsay’s sister, Shannen Bass, said Monday. “We are most definitely scared. Anything can happen in this society.”

[...]

“This is like the first time she has ever not contacted anyone,” Shannen said. “Like, she just took off. Her boyfriend hasn’t heard from her. We haven’t heard from her.”

Shannen explains Lindsay was recently in an accident for which she was hospitalized and now has noticeable injuries to her face.

“That kind of made her mental issues more severe, because she has multiple face fractures, skull fractures. It was pretty bad.”

Shannen says Lindsay has been struggling with her mental health lately and was staying with her aunt.

In the OP her sister said "she said she was going to go walk the dog" - so is the dog missing too?

Also says last seen in the "Yacht Club area of Colerain off Dry Ridge Road"

I wonder if that's the Colerain Yacht Club neighborhood?

IF it is there, and she had a dog with her, I hope they checked the retention ponds in the area - I can picture a dog jumping in and having to be rescued:

They have to be halfway deep because there are signs about fishing posted:

In video at link, sister says - "Lindsey was staying with her Aunt. She needs to be with people she's safe with and I think that was what she was attempting to do".

Wonder what all that means? Did someone contact Lindsay and she went for a walk with the dog, so her Aunt didn't know who she was meeting with? Maybe she even left voluntarily, changed her mind about her living circumstances with Aunt.
I'd sure like to know more about the accident she had recently.

Are court records searchable in Ohio?

I tried Hamilton County, OH here and didn't get any results: Search by Name – Hamilton County Clerk of Courts

This new video / article gives the first mention I recall seeing of whether or not the dog was found. Her mom says that Lindsay left for a walk with the dog, and the dog returned home a few minutes later with the leash removed.

Shortly before she went missing, Bass was in an accident from which she suffered a skill fracture and noticeable injuries to her face. Her family says the accident made preexisting mental health issues more severe.

Hi, new to WS.

I am a friend of one of Lindsay's friends, and thought I would post some of the information, questions and the like that are swirling.

First is, why isn't the sheriff's department doing more? They haven't dredged ponds and they have an organized a search that my friend knows of.

Someone said the Colerain police chief or other officer was accused of something like assault on a female in another jurisdiction. I couldn't find any info on that, but someone here could find?

I just don't understand why they aren't doing more? And how do you get them to do more?

The family also hasn't put up flyers or organized searches that we know of. (Maybe someone could fill in.)

A group of friends is organizing a search for Sunday. Anyone here want to go to Colerain OH, west of Cincinnati to help search? They could really use some guidance from people who know how to do those searches. And some search dogs.

Some wonder if she was hit by a car on purpose.

Some wonder about her boyfriend who is 13 years older and a biker.

I know it's terrible that family and significant others always come under suspicion, but there you have it. Maybe a web sleuth could find out more about him?

Some have questioned whether the dog showing up without a leash was a red herring. (Also thinking of Lacy Peterson case). Or maybe she fell down in an embankment, OR in water, and the leash came off as she fell.

Who was the person who last saw her? Neighbors? Did anyone go door to door asking or put up flyers and get info? Have doorbell cameras been checked? Other local videos? You would think after 2 months missing, the police would release some of this information. Unless of course they've done nothing.

What time of day did she disappear? If during the day, she may have headed west towards the golf course or wooded area. If at night, she might have gone or headed to walk along the main road, across from which is a tavern, which can mean drunks seeing her etc.

Using Google maps in Street view, satellite view and regular view, I noticed that the area she was supposedly last seen in is near Regatta Dr. That dead ends, but easy crossing to Prechtel Rd. That area has a golf course.

I know it's entirely conjecture, but could she have been hit in the head by a golf ball, got disoriented, gone into the woods?

I noticed that south of where those two roads dead end is a wooded area, and if you look on satellite view, you can see that there's a fairly good size water body in there, possibly a creek. Did the police check there? Did anyone?

Further south west is a large wildlife sanctuary, with a stream. Searching that area would require a very experienced search and rescue group.

The area is close to 275. So if there were foul play involved, including an abduction, it would sadly be easy for somebody to take off out of the area.

Again, this is all questions, theories etc so not trying to place the blame on anybody--except maybe the police if they have not been doing all they can-- just trying to help find answers.

The main thing I think websleuths could help with is looking for patterns of other missing or abducted and killed women in the greater Cincinnati metro area or along the interstates and highways that go through there and the tri-state area.

Another blonde Lindsey, Lindsey Shobelock , went missing in Chillicothe (west of Cincinnati and Colerain) in February, was found deceased May 10 (about time this Lindsay went AWOL?) in Huntington Twp., which is way north of Chillicothe, up near Cleveland.Another woman in area was same type of thing, but don't have info.

Hope this give you kind and clever folks some things to help find this young woman

Any updates?

I don't know how to edit, but I was just corrected, the thing about police chief was another jurisdiction. Friend mentioned it as example of "you can't always trust them," especially when they don't seem to be doing much.

Also unclear where Chilicothe woman was found, maybe not north. .

I would suggest your friend contact Texas Equusearch Midwest, which is based in Cincinnati, regarding assistance with a search, especially if she was near a wildlife area. https://m.facebook.com/texasequusearchohio/

Do a little digging and you’ll find that she didn’t even get to receive treatment for her head injury when in the hospital. She left/was taken out AMA (against medical advice). Unfortunately a head injury, mental health struggles, and unsavory acquaintances leave many not so great outcomes as options here.

I hope she is found (safe ideally), even though it doesn’t sound like she’s getting a ton of advocacy. There’s not much media coverage on her case. There are a ton of people on social media (podcasts, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) that will help advocate for missing persons cases. Perhaps presenting her case to them could be of help to getting her name out there. Visibility often helps information come to light. If her friends or family would be willing to offer interviews, The Vanished podcast is an awesome platform. I personally also think Sarah Turney does a wonderful job with Voices for Justice. If she has a missing page on Facebook, you can also ask for volunteers in the area for searches. I’m in Ohio but about 4 hrs away from you. Let me know when you guys do a search and if I’m able to, I’ll venture down there to help (though I have no experience with searches either)

Have you considered contacting Texas Equusearch?
I am about to head to bed, I have a bad headache or I'd link them myself but Websleuths has a section for resources for friends & family of missing people.
The cops don't often do a whole lot in these situations, I am so sorry to say, and there are missing persons organizations out there that will gladly help to find Lindsay. When I wake up tomorrow I can post them if you still need.

So sorry to hear of this situation.
Maybe it would be helpful to know the exact time she left with the dog and then the exact time the dog returned.
Exact or as close as possible.
That would give an idea of how far she may have walked before something happened.
And, how does that time frame relate to the last place she was seen.
I’m south of Dayton and could possibly help with searching if something is organized In upcoming days, although I have no experience.

I don't know. I don't know why family hasn't done more. Friends had organized a search--first one in 2 mo anyone organized? But then called off because family going out of town? (My mind went to dark places with that.) Police may know more, including what they have and haven't done, but haven't said publicly.b

yea so this made no sense to me as to why there has been no search. i do know the boyfriend and i have questioned him about lindsay missing. i want to remind people that what i am about to say has not been verified as facts, its only thing that i have been told, heard or pieced together. lindsay had a different older boyfriend before the current one and ive been told he was very abusive and scared to death of him. from my understanding he was questioned by police but i doubt he let them search his home. lindsay was known to walk the dog and take him off his leash even tho hes a pitbull and didnt get it that ppl r afraid of dogs like that. she had went walking and her bf said that she got hit by a car or at least thats what she said. so she did have some brain injuries and was having mental health issues also. as far as i know she wasnt a heavy addict but she did use. methamphetamine can cause psychosis and many other things. i dont think she was very involved with her family before she went missing. i think she chose to go stay with the aunt and the bf says he pushed for her to go with family cuz maybe they could help her cuz he didnt know how to help her. i think she always wanted to leave t he hospital against medical advice. i am really concerned for her well being. i just wonder if there may b a reason police havnet searched for her? i know they probably wont release info since its an open missing persons case. i hope her loved ones r able to find some answers, i cant imagine how they feel not knowing where she is...

[...]

Officers responded to the 4400 block of Dry Ridge Road sometime Tuesday after a person called saying they had found remains in a nearby wooded area.

A Hamilton County Coroner’s Office representative is at the scene.

The family of Lindsay Bass, a woman missing since May, tell FOX19 police told them the remains had on the same clothing their daughter wore when she disappeared.

[...]

Police have not confirmed the Bass connection, nor have they said whether they suspect foul play.

The remains were found just 40 ft. from the property of NH, who says he’s the one who found them.

“We were smelling a dead animal smell and we thought it could be the deer that come by here every now and again,” NH said. “And so, I wanted to see what it was, if it were around here, so I could move it somewhere else, ‘cause we were smelling it. I went in and I couldn’t find anything, but one of my dogs came across it.”
