"YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Police are looking for a missing Youngstown man with dementia who left his home and never came back.

Phillip Placko, 72, left his Bancroft Avenue home just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

He is described as a white man with gray hair and blue eyes, about 5'9" tall and weighing 165 pounds.


Placko also has diabetes and needs his medication.

Police said he is believed to be driving a red 2017 Kia Sportage with Ohio license plate number GGG1856."

"A statewide missing adult alert issued by the Youngstown Police Department issued Tuesday has been canceled after the missing man was found safe.

Youngstown Police tell 21 News that 72-year-old Phillip Placko has been located in South Carolina and is unharmed."
