Oh I never thought of that .. makes perfect sense if that is what's happening! I guess it makes me wonder why the prosecution doesn't know the amount of witnesses that are opting out ahead of time so the networks wouldn't waste money or time trying to live stream a trial of nothing but music or dead air. Seems like that would be a massive loss of revenue for them. Then again, maybe this info has been shared and the networks decided it would be worth it.

Just guessing, but the prosecution does know in advance and probably shares it with the news media. They're using one "press pool" camera in the courtroom. Everyone shares it, so it's probably not costing them anything when its off. Most of the tv stations covering the trial live are running the live video on separate channels from their regular programs.

Wow! Why? Wait, this is for his own hearing?

That was for his arraignment in Kentucky, when he was first arrested.
BCI had followed him as he hid in the back of a horse trailer driven by his sister. They were taking one of their horses to a veterinary across the Ohio state line in Kentucky.

BCI, FBI, etc. had a very coordinated strategy to follow and arrest the 4 Wagners. There was great concern they would be armed and dangerous and might resist arrest.

But isn't that air time still costly? I really don't know so I'm just thinking out loud :)

I don't know, sorry. Maybe someone else here knows?

Not sure if it's related, but Billy did show up in court the first time with a white supremacy tattoo.

Does anyone recall both George and Billy getting Scorpion tattoos just after the murders?

GW4 got a tattoo with a skull and 8 ball

Hagaman said George got a tattoo after the killings. It features a skull, eight ball, and the so-called "dead man's hand" of cards showing aces and eights.

Saw that.

FWIW, the Daily Mail has it on his right arm. It ain't.

Wagner was seen with a tattoo of a Valknot on his right arm.

The Valknot, or 'knot of the slain,' is an old Norse symbol that has been adopted by white supremacists, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

This case is one I followed and had to let go of. The trial is bringing home just how depraved and willfully violent it was, the extermination of a family from root to any non-Wagner branch. It is as shocking today as it was then, perhaps even more so as some key details are released via testimony.

@cathyrusson

Prosecutor Canepa flipped past this slide in her presentation without talking about it. The text on the screen says #GeorgeWagnerIV got this tattoo after the murders depicting a skull with an 8-ball in it's mouth. "There were eight victims killed in Pike County in April 2016"

That's quite the bragging rights from a man that supposedly chickened out and now wants his brother and dad to claim all 8 victims because "he wasn't even there" .. please! Either G4 was a willing and proud participant in this massacre or he's like one of those leaches we all have worked with before that lets you do all the work and then wants to take all the credit.

As of 10:15 a.m. central and 11:15 a.m. eastern time the trial was on a 15 minute break. So court will resume at 11:30/12:30 C/E time just in case there is live testimony.

Why can’t they put the camera on GWIV and turn off audio during these opt out testimonies? That way we could see his reaction but not see or hear the witness.

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Lt. Ball also testified at length about his discovery of what he called an "extensive" marijuana grow operation on Chris Sr's property - in a garage, an out building, and a semi trailer.

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Dep. Morgan Music is the next witness - he was with Lt. Ball at some point at the scene. Dep. Music has also opted out of audio and video.

Well very frustrating they won't at least allow audio of the officers testimony. I can understand video, but why not audio? It is all or nothing or can they opt out of video, but agree to be recorded?

:rolleyes: Ohio taxpayers are footing the bill for All of this and they have a legal right to see and hear all that transpires in this trial. It's the job of the media to ensure those rights.

Edit. I would love to hear from, is it @Prairewind?, on this issue.

Well, I'm confused. I thought Morgan Music (LE) had already testified, but I guess Adam Ball was on the entire time. I do think there will be another witness by the last name of Richardson (not sure on spelling) that has not opted out of audio and video. I'm pretty sure I just heard that on the live feed. I'm not sure if we will get to that person today or not.
