Parker's body language.. Arms crossed and standing very close to JW.

Predictable side-show. Jake's attorneys file a document to quash the subpoena of their personal notes citing attorney-client privilege. Meanwhile, Judge Deering is already pretty busy.
They've made this trial into a circus since day 1. I wouldn't hire either Nash or Parker if I was in trouble. Too much grandstanding and nonsense. Moo

Edit to add. I once worked for the atty who represented Ozzie Osborne when he supposedly bit the head off of a bat. I know a good lawyer when I see one.

He purchased a weapon that was used that night and a truck, too, if IRC.

BBM
What weapon did he purchase? Billy purchased the truck. George went with Jake and Angie to pay for it. That doesn't mean George bought the truck especially since Billy is the one who told his cousin he would buy it.

All that has been proved in court that George bought was some parts for a Chevy Silverado which is his own truck. It said that right on the receipt from OK Auto Parts the forensic accountant found in Georges bank statement which was put up on the screen for everyone to see. I do not understand why people keeps saying George bought any kind of supplies to be used in the murders when it has been proved in court he did not buy anything that was used in the murders.

What is so hard to understand about this? The forensic accountant spent over half a day testifying that Jake and Angie bought everything used in the murders. George bought parts for his own vehicle which is a Chevy Silverado.

The murder truck was a GMC. Different brand of vehicle entirely.

I see your point and I don't deny that I haven't wished for more evidence than JW's testimony. However, we do have other witness testimony & direct evidence of how G4 treated TC. How TC testified that AW treated G4. How the whole family treated EA, and pretty good view of the family dynamics. It seemed a bit like groundhog day, some witness testimony was so similar. I don't think this family used the toilet without letting the others know or having a vote on if they were allowed or not. Even his best buddy, CN, scored no points for G4. My annoyance and issues are strictly based on the lack of what I call "show me" evidence, and that just can't be done here b/c no one is left alive on the other side, to tell their side. Do I believe that G4 is guilty of at least one of the charges against him? I do believe that he is, at this point in the trial. That's all that's required to convict him, if I understand correctly. I'm not so sure he shot anyone, tried to shoot anyone, stood guard in DR's home, but I've a feeling he played a role in this. That family was just too close. Circumstantial evidence is pretty much given the same weight as Direct evidence. We just have to evaluate them differently and more closely.

QUESTION FOR ALL LAWYERS: the other day, Angie Canepa asked Jake Wagner "did you tell your lawyers that your entire family was involve in this?" or something to that effect. Jake said yes. After that, George's lawyers subpoenaed the notes of Jake's lawyers. (cont)

Did Canepa asking that question and Jake answering it break attorney-client privilege and open the door for the notes, making them fair game?

I am hoping that one of the reporters who has followed the case from day 1 writes a book, not just about the trial but a wide-ranging book about the area the crimes happened in, the families, the murders, post the murders and the trials, (not asking for much). Some of the profits could go to the surviving children.

I also hope FR provides for the surviving children, SW and BVW are her great grandchildren, KR is SW sister, BR father was killed by her Grandson, RR is an orphan due to her grandson killing both his parents, she has so much money that it would be helpful to whoever is raising the children, I also hope she provides money for their education when they are older post high school.

It would be a way to break the cycle of children having children and hopefully give them choices in life that their parents didn't have. I only know for sure where BVW and BR went, I don't know where the others are (I have seen posts as to who has them). That is just rumors and I do not know who they were placed with.

The property of the Rhoden's could also be sold, and the proceeds used to benefit the families, I haven't read anything about CRsr land being sold or KR.

AW must have given permission for CN and Randa and her mum and grandmother to live in AW fathers home, as AW inherited the home, when RN and her mother move next door CN said he will continue to live in that house, it is no use to AW for 30 years and with an aging grandmother and mother having CN and Randa next door will mean they will be able to help them as and when it is needed.

I was just talking to the s/o about this last night. Someone will do a movie after all is done. Who knows how that will turn out though. I'm with you. I think someone who was there, from day one, til the end, and maybe a little bit after, would be a best seller if well-written. I truly hope someone does this. I had a couple friends over the other night and they'd heard me go on and on over this for six+ years now. I told them about EA and that she'd just testified. They wanted to watch. That's all they'd ever seen of it except for maybe when Billy was arrested at Rood and Riddle. The first thoughts that come to mind? I could not even describe to them, over six years, how horrible this case was, but she did. One woman, one testimony.

No.sorry if I overstepped. I just thought the first tweet of the building was interesting and alerted us that she is there and tweeting as usual.
I made the same mistake the other day, so you aren't alone.

I have always wondered why they didn't wait till CRsr and GR were asleep and creep in and kill them as they did the others, BW was there often enough that he would have known CRsr kept all his guns locked in that safe and were not easily accessible, and BW knew the dogs very well, so they were not an issue,

also, the modification of the truck, there was no need, BW could have dropped both boys off and they could have just snuck across CRsr property to get in place,

this is just my musings on JW testimony being that BW and GW were involved, whether they were and to what extent I am unsure at the moment

I'm praying that's not the case. This subpoena has me rattled. Here's hoping it's all for naught.
Oh, me too. I'm not really too concerned just yet though. I think it's a precautionary move. I don't blame them but I don't think it will go far. Idk why, but JW's atty did file for removal around Feb of this year. I see he's still his atty, but getting another atty would be kind of difficult, I'd think, so judge could've sent him back for them to work out their issue (total guess).

Agree, those were strange decisions. They are fact, though. Also don't understand all the driving around, unless it was to screw up their courage to do the next murder. In some ways they were pretty lucky they didn't get caught or seen by someone who could have called in a tip to LE the next day.

I think he/they would not know if either slept with a gun by their bed or even on their person.

As far as the truck I wondered before what would have been wrong with just saying 'my boys are in the truck'... not so suspicious I don't think. They could shoot the rifle from the truck most likely. I think maybe they didn't want to be seen all together is a possible answer.

But I do wonder if the plan was to shoot him while going/returning from the grow how were they going to surprise GR. Did both CR and GR make the trip to the grow? To get CR to go by the door they supposedly had CR call BW's phone (I guess he said he left it outside somewhere). If shooting CR outside they still have to deal with a possibly armed GR inside. One needed to be inside I think.

Pike Co. massacre trial will begin soon for day two of defense cross examining Jake Wagner.
Since he has opted out of allowing us to record him… I will be stuck in the courtroom, and I will have to bring you the latest on Twitter during breaks.

Here's what's happened so far. It was a slow morning with Defense attorney John Parker questioning Jake Wagner. He was asking Jake to describe his childhood at first.

Jake said as a child, he was taught to pick locks. "I was very good." He carried a pick set with him at all times. He said his dad taught him to steal vehicles, evade detection, enter a house, locate surveillance systems.

He said his dad, Billy, was preparing for an apocalypse. Said Billy buried a bread truck on Grandma Wagner's farm, The Flying W... like a bomb shelter.

Jake said Billy taught him to steal. Jake said Billly taught him how to break in to vending machines to get change, shoptlift, steal vehicles and disassemble them for chop shops. Billy taught him to steal fuel from semis, stole semi trailers with contents like washing machines, hot tubs, food, shoes. He said he and his dad stole cattle from stockyards.

Jake said his mom home schooled him but would do most of the studies for him except for math and science. He was raised to avoid going to doctors. He said his mom bred dogs but would fraud customers by selling them pound puppies.

Jake said his family taught him how to commit arson. His mom taught him to burn down homes for money. He described burning down three homes and a garage. he said the last one they burnt down didn't cost them much to build because a lot of the material was stolen.

He said his dad was the type of trucker who would take illegal drugs to stay awake and drive longer than permitted.

Alaska: First time he went, Jake was 14. 2017, after the murders, they went to scope out properties. He said he would follow the murders online and at one point he commented on a post with a fake profile.

In Alaska, he met his ex-wife, Beth. He said he was looking for a wife to help raise Sophia. Defense attorney said, "Because you killed the other one, didn't you?" and Jake said, "Yes.”

He said Beth lied to him on their wedding light. He said he was an anime fan, and he wanted to watch the last episode on YouTube. He used her phone. He said her youtube history showed she had looked up witch craft spells.

When asked if he raped her on their wedding night, Jake said no.

As for Sophia, jake said he wanted her to grow up Christian, go to college and get a good career, husband and become a mom. "I just wanted a good life for her.”

He said "I loved Hanna, and it was not love at first sight. She grew on me." "She wanted babies." "I felt she needed to finish school, get a little older.”

He said they didn't want any of their children to be "dudtards". When defense asked him what that meant, he said a mixing the word "dud" and a slur or offensive word used for someone with an intellectual disability.

Jake said he didn't want his child to go to public school and be exposed to bad examples like premarital sex and drugs. He acknowledged to the jury that he knows he was exposed to that stuff, too, although he was home schooled.

He told jurors he thought Hanna gave up her parenting standards. Although, he said he would have taken her back even though she was pregnant with another man's baby. He went so far as to ask her to pretend it was his baby.

Jake told jurors he had fears someone would molest his daughter based on past experiences people he knew had like Hanna, Tabitha, a cousin and his mother.

Good afternoon from Pike Co. massacre murder trial. Quick lunchtime thread on continuing testimony from Jake Wagner, the younger brother of defendant George Wagner IV.

First up however more legal wrangling. George's defense lawyers subpoenaed the notes and files of Jake's defense lawyers - who in turn filed a motion to quash. Hearing at 12:45 on that.

I don't remember JW saying this. Can you provide me a link to look/hear? Thank you.
There is no hearing of JW testifying, I will try to find the tweet I read

I am just guessing here, but CRsr had motion activated cameras, lights and other such alarms around his place. BW would know they existed but not exactly where they were. If they approached in the middle of the night and set them off, CRsr would immediately know they were up to no good. So they needed to approach overtly.

[…]
The Guardian received a portion of Jake Wagner’s testimony on his first day on the witness stand. The Guardian wants to disclose that the audio was not recorded by a member of the media and was submitted to the Guardian’s newsroom by a courthouse source who is authorized to have their cell phone in the room.

[…]

The Guardian has closed-captioned the recording to the best of its abilities; some words may be omitted, cut short, or not properly transcribed. Listening discretion is advised.
