So did AW "forget" to mention all the other fires, the "purebred" dog breeding scam, etc.?

Woah! Just checking in. Didn't realize GW4 was going to be on the stand himself! I have an errand to run, will drive fast.

No errand could be as important!

Defense appears to be trying to separate GW4 from his family (as they stated previously he is the “black sheep in the family” … but the prosecution has already shown solid evidence that GW4 was 100% in with his family.

"All for one, and one for all"

Narrative is in my opinion only.

Sure not distancing himself from the family crimes.

Are they going to say he didn't obey orders this one time when they were killing people instead of stealing?

Gosh... this defense (whatever it is) sure is confusing.
I don't know what to think of it either. Just yesterday I was questioning if they thought he was involved based on the witnesses they called and what they asked them. It all seemed to just be character witnesses. George was nice, George was a good worker, etc. Then the expert that just didn't prove anything and basically said he couldn't say that more than one person didn't do it. All we have is the opening statement for a possible guide to what they were going to say.

I'm glad he's on the stand because I think it's the only chance to save himself. I don't know that it will prove he isn't guilty, but his story certainly could go a long way to save his life.

This made me LOL. My hubby isn't much into the true crime stuff I follow. He's more of a first 48 or COPS type shows vs a deep dive into following cases all the way through. He does entertain my insistence on chatting about the cases I follow until he's heard it all at least 2x through. :D I told him life can get back to normal once this is over. HA Gotta plan errands around court days.

The defendants are innocent until proven guilty. That is why they are permitted to wear street clothes. It's not just this judge. Note AW and JW no longer wore street clothes b/c they admitted guilt and are awaiting sentencing.

For some unknown reason Angela never even one time wore street clothes. It had nothing to do with her losing mail and phone privileges. For some reason she just wore jail clothes.

Perhaps, no one brought her clothes to wear.

But... JW didn't mind a blood bath. IMO

Someone else put on Parker's suit today, he's actually cordial. Wonder why? MOO

Angela believed drinking and cursing would “make Jesus cry” and send you to hell but apparently deception, theft and arson could pave the road to heaven?

WATCH: #GeorgeWagnerIV is taking the stand in his own defense!

GW4 takes the stand. Says he's struggled with his weight his entire life. Always been heavy. Born in Lucasville, Ohio. Mom home-schooled him. He is one year, one month older than Jake.

GW4 says the home-schooling would go until noon. GW4 says he had his own desk in his room. As did Jake. He said he'd sit at his desk unless he needed help with something. After that, help with the animals, whatever Mom wanted done

GW4 says they had chicken, geese, a little bit of everything. One of his jobs as a child was to take care of these animals. Feed and water them, clean the stalls.

GW4 says he quit the homeschooling at 14. "I wanted to do my own thing." He wanted to be a game warden or Forrester. Dad pushed him to be a diesel mechanic. Billy didn't want him "wearing a badge." He thought all law enforcement was crooked

GW4 says Billy taught him that as a child. Taught him how to fish and hunt and how to do anything with a vehicle. Hunted and fished almost daily at the Flying W.

Having the same name as his grandfather and dad, their mail was always mixed up, social security numbers, etc. So, that's why when he had a son he named him Bulvine Hunter Wagner. Wanted him to have a different name

Billy was a history buff. Taught him how to steal fuel, open locks. "He bought a lock pick set... and set us down for hours until we could figure out how to open it." This started at age 13.

GW4 said after, Billy would take them hotels to break into vending machines. Jake would mostly do it because he could get into a lock in a matter of seconds.

Billy also taught them how to break into trucks and see if they wanted what was in the load. You shut the door if you didn't want what was in it. No one would know any different. This was around 2005

Angela was always there when this theft was going on. Billy hated Wal-Mart. GW4 doesn't know why.

GW4 says starting in 2005, every weekend, they would steal fuel and Billy would sell it for half-price. Angela was always with Billy when this happened.

GW4 says they always drove diesels. "free fuel." GW4 liked Dodges and Cummins Diesel engines. He had that tattooed on his right arm.

GW4 says Billy also taught them how to look for cameras. They'd get their 4-wheelers taken away for a week if Billy took them around and they didn't spot a camera that Billy had found

GW4 says he didn't have a lot of social activity before getting his driver's license. He was home-schooled. Mostly the kids of his dad's friends. He left the house daily. Hung out with Frankie, Garrett Walls, others. Hunt fish, go mudding

GW4 says getting his driver's license gave him freedom. Angela didn't like that. She'd say GW4 was going out to leave Jake home to do all the work and he should stay home and be more like Jake. GW4 says he wanted to go out with his friends

Jake wanted a 1971 Chevy. Angela made Billy buy it for Jake, GW4 says. It cost $16K. GW4 was bitter about that because he got a truck that cost less and he was older. No one could touch Jake's truck. It was spotless

Canepa objects. Testimony continues. GW4 says his truck was like a southern Ohio boy's truck. Had mud on it, beer cans in the bed. Hung out with Frankie Rhoden at Big Bear Lake.

GW4 talks about Jake not wanting Hanna May to be around some people who drank, etc. Canepa objects. Foundation

GW4 talking about Angela trying to burn down a house at Bethel Hill Rd. She said had Billy do it. She didn't know what she was doing. It didn't burn the way they wanted it. Fredericka paid to remodel it b/c Angela told her it was an accident.

GW4 testimony continues with the defense theme that Angela preferred Jake and that wanted GW4 to be more like Jake. He's talking about Angela's dog-breeding business where she passed off pound puppies as pure bred. (cont)

GW4 said Angela dyed a spot on a dog's head. Say it was a white spot on a black dog, she'd dye it.

George now talking about the theft of the Rocky boots from a semi trailer. Angela helped plan this theft, according to GW4. They kept them in the basement. "Everyone in Pike County was wearing Rocky boots after that."

When asked about other thefts, GW4 says "what do you want to know about? I could go on for days." John P. Parker asks about the stolen hot tubs.

Other thefts - a load of Dell laptops. 15 minute break.

Would like to see what Wilson is doing right now.

I notice that George is chatty. I wonder how this will go when the state gets their turn. He is asked a simple question and he goes on and on.

I also see George is just staring right at him, not looking around at all.

I also see some smirks and facial expressions I wonder if it's a nervous thing like Jake had?

  • #119
To me, George's testimony comes across as rehearsed sour grapes about Jake, Billy, Angela and Tabby. Everyone else is to blame, not GW4. At this point, I don't think jury will buy what he is selling.

Can't believe AC didn't object to comments about TC, as her health is not relevant to this case. IMO

TC is not on trial here!!! IMO
