What right? Are you are okay with others determining which federal laws to break?

Feds have been backing off enforcement of MJ laws in states that have declared it legal in recent years. Mostly, it boils down to a states's rights issue. JMO, this will all be resolved and the federal statues against MJ will drastically change or be eliminated in the next several years as states make their own decisions about legalization.

Thank you, Tricia and Welcome to Larry!

Probably our first questions have to do with the indictments against the Wagner family, primarily those relating to murder and conspiracy charges. Is Larry ok with answering those things?

There's a link upthread to the indictments, and I'll pull it down here.

Again, thank you Tricia and Larry!

ETA: Link to indictments for Edward, Angela, George IV and George III Wagner

https://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov...ka0QgUz0HzUS2PY7DFUGDYyi55GBj310N2yYgIOpFFWzU

All 4 Wagners are charged with murdering each of the 8 members of the Rhoden family. We're not sure this was physically possible and are wondering if the murder charges apply, even if the perp was not a shooter. What kind of impact will this have on the trials?

Nah, only the laws that were put on the books to continue racism and the cycle of poverty in this country. Weed is definitely not heroin and should never have been identified as such. moo. :D;) I understand what you're saying though! They can still arrest anyone who tries to defy the law.

If I set up my own grow op, drug along a couple of Rottweilers with me, had traffic in and out, not to mention my loud exhaust, and set up motion lights to come on every time someone pulled into my drive, and did it next door to some of the folks defending this, I'd be having LEOs on my doorstep in no time flat.

Until then, I can still be arrested and tried for it. They just arrested some boys the other day for having hemp illegally.

Yes, that's true. Not disputing that. It's a fact.

ETA: I have to take off for a little bit to do some stuff IRl, haha. Will try to be back for Billy's arraignment, but if not, could someone else put up a link to a live feed for everyone? TIA. WLWT and WCPO usually have live feeds going for the Wagner arraignments.

Actually no. But I still see nothing wrong with people growing and using MJ. I do not personally use it, but I don't think others should be prohibited from it's use either.

My husband is for legalizing pot but since it is illegal he does not raise it, buy it, or smoke it. He may not agree with the law but he doesn’t break it. Jmo

O/T Since you have pointed out that it is still against federal law to grow or use and there are members of federal LE in my family I am rethinking the idea to grow my own plant. I guess I will wait until the federal law changes and it becomes legal on a federal level.

Do they have to prove who shot whom? Isn't it acting in concert?

Thank you for answering. I truly don't understand this, from the jury's point of view. So you're thinking acting in "concert" would be adequate for a jury to convict? I see separate trials for each of them, so a jury for one trial may be saying things such as, well we believe JW was involved, but was he home watching the kids, was JW at THIS particular house? Or AW went to one of the houses, but which house? Maybe she never went to KR's house.

Please understand I don't expect YOU to have these answers, just trying to get opinions or how the law/charges will work. Justice for this family is a real concern to me. May be stressing for nothing, LE may have all this covered.

Note to the Rhoden/Gilley/Manley family: We will work towards justice.

As a user of the product, I don't either. That's not the way the law works though. The Rs weren't stupid. They knew what they were doing. Folks keep saying they were poor. I don't see it. DR's ex just bought a home with six acres for her and their kids and grandchildren. FR had the top end Derby vehicle. Each of them had a derby vehicle. Not really a cheap hobby. The kids had nice clothing. The fact that they didn't really keep up their lawn, or choose different dwellings, doesn't speak to poverty, it speaks to choice. Just my two cents. I've got friends who were dealers. They are dead now. Did they know what they were doing? Yes. They knew if they got caught, too, what would happen. One can't go back and make it legal in 2016. Unless they had a license, it would not be legal in 2018. Raisin, you are into taxes. If you see someone making an illegal decision, tax wise, even if it is to just save back some cash because times are tough, would you advise them to continue that course of action?

My main thing with the grows, is wondering if the Ws tied those into the murders, to make it look like a drug deal gone bad, or, did the Ws have dealings with the Rs, that went south at some point, that caused further riffs between the two families.

Absolutely not. It is my ethical duty to report any illegal activity.
As a matter of fact I could lose my license and be disbarred for not reporting any illegal activities that I become aware of.

That is why even though MJ is now legal to have in my state, as you pointed out it is still illegal on the federal level, so I will not be trying to grow any plants.

I would have liked to have the option for getting a prescription for pain should I ever need it. Who knows though, by the time I need it maybe it will be legal on the federal level.

A tray of 4" seed pots holds 20 or 24 units. 10 trays=200 seedlings. Meager space.
I hear some saying GR and ChSr were doing the growing. Maybe ChSr had better sense and it was the kids trying their hand at horticulture.
Personally I doubt ChSr didn't know, but we don't know.

I know nothing about "trays," "units," various "types," of pot, THC, shatter, or anything related to growing pot, really. I shouldn't really make any comments about the subject, actually, and this is my last comment on the subject of pot. Whatever the amount the Rhodens planted, or bought or were growing to sell or to keep for personal use or whatever... apparently it was not enough to draw the attention of the cartels or local gangs, or anyone else, imo, and provide with anyone the motivation for killing 8 people. Those were the very first theories that I rejected along with many others here. (In my case because I didn't believe the Rhodens were growing enough pot in spite of hearing, "commercial grows.") I never thought those "groups of people" would take that much of a chance at going to prison for life or "worse" considering what I, personally, thought was not a huge amount of pot. Also, the Rhoden lifestyle of working hard didn't seem to jive with the amounts of money that growing large amounts of pot would yield. Right or wrong about the amount... I would still stand by that it was not the motivation for the murders even if I didn't know it wasn't at this point in time. Because, now we find out that we are supposed to sort of "get over" (paraphrased by me) the pot grows per Sheriff Reader. So, I finally have gotten over them and I'm not considering the pot as important at this point. Again, I should have stayed out of a conversation I really knew very little about. Don't worry... I will!
But, I do thank you for your information, btw... I always appreciate any new information because I love to learn about anything at all, even if it bears no significance in my own life.

I'm actually very worried about this. If LE can't sort out, definitively and with evidence, who did what, I'm afraid some of them might be set free. It may not be enough, especially in individual trials, four different juries, to simply say they all did it.

I didn't think so. It is my hope that someday soon it will be legal on the fed level too.

This is the first arraignment I've got to watch, LIVE. We have the courtroom and that's all right now.
