Plus a prior conviction for violence with a firearm.

My theory is that JW or one of the other killers in his family called in some bogus tips to LE. They knew who was most likely to discover the bodies and who LE would question first. They were probably ready with some anonymous or third party tips. It's also possible they planted some evidence at one of the crime scenes that pointed to the Manleys.

W's spent a lot of time planning this, it's not unreasonable to assume those plans included ways to frame innocent family members. There are already big suspicions about the red truck that somehow ended up being sold to JM.

I agree that is all possible. But they would certainty have scrutinized the Manleys even without any of the above due to being family, first on the scene, and prior criminal history.

They normally always look at family first when there's no witnesses 1/4 of all murders are committed by family members. they'd been remiss not to investigate the family.

LE searching of JM's truck after the murders has always stuck in my memory. It may have just been a logical item to investigate, but I've also wondered if someone planted something in his truck. Blood spatter or a bloody rag? A weapon? Alternately, someone could have also taken something from his truck and left it at one of the crime scenes. There are several possibilities.

His pickup truck had an open bed. It may have even been unlocked. It was probably parked outside his home all night, making it easy for someone to access it.

They did investigate and came up with zilch.

The killers new the LE would look at family first, that was in all the pre-planning, the shoes, the brass catchers, the false statements about all the family members on other web sites, trying to make it look like cartel everyone but the right ones.

At the time of the murders, Gov Kasich was running for POTUS and DeWine had already announced his plans to run for governor. There was absolutely no way the AG was going to allow Reader or Junk to remain in charge of this investigation. The Pike County Coroner said he was stopped by BCI before he even got to the crime scenes and told they and DeWine were in charge of the investigation.

Agree also, that most of the allegations were floated years ago by anonymous sources. It's small town politics and LE stuff. JMO, none of it is relevant to the investigation. Convictions will be based on evidence and witness testimony.

The defense teams should be careful of what they stir up. From what I've read, some of them have sketchy pasts.
Link to the "sketchy pasts" please. That is something I haven't read about. Thanks.

My last post on bedbugs. I'm putting them to bed. Idgad if they had them or not. It's their living quarters not mine. I didn't pay their bills. The part that's bbm is the part that I missed. Other folks are allowed their opinion though. They're allowed to not want to live beside a car parts yard, with vicious pit bulls, (Per LM), and grow ops. Some of ya'll probably wouldn't care for how I live my life... but, if I was found murdered, I bet you'd still hunt for the person who killed rsd1200. At the end of the day, I care about making sure the right people, who murdered these folks, goes to prison.

They didn't deserve to be murdered, but that doesn't mean that it erases who they were. They lived life the way they wanted. Folks keep calling them poor, but I don't see that. LM? Yes. I see poverty there. There were, what, at least five initial suspects, or more, who may have had a beef with them? I can only think of two folks who might want me dead. So we all have our faults. Some care more about the Rs faults than others. Like me, it doesn't bother me one way or the other that they had junked cars or bedbugs, that's why I can discuss it. I don't think the Rs nor HHG, would really care what outsiders, or anyone, would have thought of their lifestyles, their accomplishments, or their faults. I'd like to have seen someone tell CR1 to clear out his parts yard...;) Ain't no HOA round there, nor here. Thank Heaven. :)

The R's lived out in a rural area. I would assume they lived there so no one could tell them how their yard should look. Not everyone is as lucky as the R's were.

I had a client come in and ask if I knew anyone who needed a car. She said she owned a Jeep that was about 6 years old. She said it was running fine and tagged but she had bought a new vehicle and her HOA told her she couldn't have over 2 cars in her driveway so she had 3 days to get rid of it or get a 1000.00 fine. I told her about a Vietnam Veteran who's car had recently gave out and was having to depend on the Senior Citizens Center (where I volunteer) to get to his doctors appointments. She brought the car to my office with the title signed over and I called the center who brought him up to get it. She couldn't even claim a charitable donation for giving him the car. But I did give her a discount on my fee to refund her for her gasoline in having to bring 2 cars to my office.

So yes the R's were lucky to live where they did and no one telling them how to live.

Alexa was listening to you....
Oh my Lord, a bed bug ridding application commercial is on t.v. :(
PUZZLES8 Some call it Alexa, I call it another gimic that invades my privacy. The secret is, there are no secrets if you use any tech whatsoever. Cell phones, email, texts, google, bing, ATM's, cable, GPS, drones w/high def-infrared cameras, directional listening devices, phone taps, credit cards, store membership, coupon redemption, time cards, trucker's weigh stations, license plate readers, library card, video surveillance,etc....we are all being tracked and watched, to some extent. (Someone is going to be awfully disappointed if they put a camera in my bathroom or really, really sick.) Good grief, I looked up a china pattern & my computer suddenly gets tons of ads for dishes! Data security, privacy and regulations associated with the collection of it, is a really big issue. We have all been a "lab rat" in some FB scheme. "Oh no," said the executives, "We are just trying to enhance the consumer experience!" or, "We are not spying, this is just target marketing."
Where is my rant heading....simply saying, by the end of the investigation LE knew how many times a day they flushed their toilet and the brand of bathroom paper they preferred. Throw all the distractions and "what if's" you want at this investigation. It will only be darts thrown on a whale of irrefutable information. ( NSA?) Oh well, I guess the defense has to try something.

Not everyone thinks as you do. I, for one, would be most upset if someone were to have what looks like a junkyard next door or down the street. It certainly would affect the property value of the surrounding properties. Then again, I would never purchase property in an area that did not have zoning and code enforcement up to MY standards. To each his own.

I posted it in the last thread a couple of times. One of the defense attorneys from the Portsmouth area was involved in questionable activities. Will go back and search.

I think we can all agree that bed bugs can and will cross socioeconomic lines.
Thinking about this for my avatar, thoughts?

Iridized, is there a link or was that confirmed earlier? Did it involve an actual discharge of a weapon?

I've been thinking all wore protective clothing and the shoes bought at Walmart might be rubber overshoe boots or shoes with a distinctive sole pattern, not all the same size possibly but style or brand. Just a thought.

I agree. I think they wanted something waterproof so they could wash off blood ect.

Judge alters routine to toss out drug case, seal record

Richard Nash, defense atty for GW4 was busted for MJ possession and had a friendly judge throw out the case in a controversial manner

Link to my previous post

OH Pike County: 8 in Rhoden Family Murdered Over Custody Issue 4 Members Wagner Family Arrested#37

From the linked article:

"Portsmouth Municipal Court Judge Russell D. Kegley came in early on July 11, despite being on vacation, to handle a drug-abuse case against lawyer Richard M. Nash Jr. Moving the arraignment from its scheduled time of 9 a.m. to 8:31 a.m., Kegley dismissed the charge - without a prosecutor present - at an hour the court typically does not conduct hearings, a Dispatch investigation found. Kegley also quickly granted Nash’s motion to seal the records in the case alleging that he smoked marijuana, making the case vanish both online and from the court’s files."

There was a pharmacist here selling a special hand/skin cream for years. The women loved it. It was finally revealed to just be repackaged bag balm. He made no claims about it that it would do anything special. He just offered it in a plain jar with the name of his drugstore,"Hand Cream" on the label with the ingredients....
My FIL kept a can of wool fat around. That stuff was good for everything. I haven't seen that stuff since he passed 30 years ago though.

I've always suspected that could happen. From what we've been able to learn, CR1 put up quite a fight. It's very possible he shot or struck one of the killers, or they were wounded accidentally. While the gathering of DNA from Rhoden relatives may have been routine, it's also an indicator there was some kind of DNA left behind by the killers.

Didn't I read somewhere on this board that Billy disappeared for 3 weeks after the murders? If true that might be because he was wounded e.g. black eye or gunshot wound.

I agree the sheriff is also innocent until proven guilty, but I also believe no judge signs off on a subpoena based solely on an anonymous complaint. Jmo

Oh I’ve seen it happen. A subpoena or warrant have fact based affidavits attached. And to make it more probable, Pike County elections and public process and their servants have a pre-existion reputation of cover ups and corruption

In Readers last election, someone distributed some very similar accusations in a flyer to several hundred homes. This is all a continuance if a group of individuals who will not stop until he is shamed out of office.

Pike County public servants have to appear honest and transparent in order to answer these accusations and convince this anonymous group to stop this deceptive behavior.

It’s my opinion that cowards send this type of complaint. In the end, factual or baseless it will ruin reputations and call innocent reputations into question. Filing anonymous documents is not a moral or ethical way to accomplish anything.
