If the bailiffs let you bring a pen into the courtroom, I believe they also let you bring in paper, too.
Or is paper, tablets & notebooks only for the press? Just asking....as I usually write on my hand when I don't have paper.
ps. spell check is my friend, write/right/rite....not!:)

Welp, that’s a very odd thing to do. I wonder what she’s writing that’s so important that she must write it on her pants? jmo

That or trying to communicate with them through a third party, like another family member, close friend, etc. JMO, there's probably a reason the prosecutors asked for this motion. It was interesting that AW's defense attorneys quickly interjected that they had given her explicit instructions not to communicate with any third parties about the case, sort of like saying "Hey, Judge, don't blame us. We told her not to do it". JMO.

I really wonder if she's been trying to discuss the case with RW or someone else. Could that explain some of RW's scribbling on her trousers?

The judge said no contact at all didn't he? Or did I hear that wrong? That means she cannot talk to her mother, MIL, husband or sons about anything IMO. That would mean the ban is not just on the crime but on any communication. To me that would be hard knowing her grandmother is very ill.

Could family or friends be charged with a crime if they try to circumvent the judge's order by delivering messages she might try to send to family members who are co defendants?

Would any family or friends be stupid enough to try to deliver a message from her knowing the phones and visits are recorded and all letters are read prior to being mailed? They would get caught in a heartbeat.

I would not think anyone would be that stupid.

I can see AW furiously penning letters.

Jake, honey, I love you, I told your bro to say blah blah.
You need to do the same.

GW4, I told Jake what you told grannies RN and he told grannie FW to tell you blah blah.

And so forth. I’d love to read their jail house communications, phone convos probably are not so clear, they know they’re recorded. I’m going to believe all 4 now have a clear understanding of “intercepting communications”.

Also, if they can't communicate with each other, they don't know if any of the others have talked or changed their story, or made a deal or anything at all about what's going on with them. They won't be able to compare notes or coordinate their actions. It must be very disorienting and isolating (good!).

Also, you are surrounded by criminals that would be happy to pass on anything you say to get a sentence reduced.

I saw that with Robin. She had both pant legs scribbled up with notes.
On another item, AW looked a little more concerned this time, at least to me she did....
I finally got it to play but using you tube. She not only looked more concerned to me but she looked like she was about to bust out crying any minute

BettyP Responding with my best North Dakota accent, "Oh you betcha yeah." (Wish I knew how to attach that clip.)
Well wadayaknow Angela is attempting to break the rules in jail. I write "attempting" because for all we know, her classroom notes got intercepted, huh? Just thinking out loud folks. And noticing RW never "appeared to be taking notes" in the past hearings she has attended. Maybe she did come in with paper and it got taken away because she was passing notes!?? Hmm, I seem to remember her passing on a message through an attorney early on. And the audience is not supposed to distract from the court proceedings. (Ya' know, don't disrupt, try to get the defendants attention, don't waive, don't jump up and down, etc.) Uh, "do not contact other defendants" is not that much to remember. Lots of nervous energy, feverish movement...bout ran out of thigh.
Looks like she got her privileges revoked too since she was wearing jail clothes and shackles.

JJHilltop...If it looked as if she was about to cry, it was because she got caught, NOT because she has remorse. good observation, btw.

IMO she would try to communicate with any and everyone that would communicate with her, family wise.

I think each individual attorney wishes his client to not confer with another defendant. AWs atty cares none (IMO) what happens to the other three, vise versa. Individually, ea atty only cares about winning his case, getting less than DP for his client.

Absolutely. However, not all clients do what their attys tell them to do... Highly irritating to their attys.

I bet she’s crying a lot these days.
Jail is hard! Once you’re sentenced & in prison, you can move forward, adjust to your future, the fear & antipitation is over, (pertaining to what is going to happen).
In jail, one only waits & waits & waits more. There’s little to do. Jails aren’t set up to house people indefinitely. Prisons offer a yard, recreation, work, classes & other things to ease the boredom of the incarcerated & aide in preventing chaos.
AW is probably accustomed to running the family & now it’s killing her to not know their defense strategy, she must wonder if a family member is putting blame on her.
I’d have a heart attack.

Lol. AW surely wants to tell her co-defendants/family what to say. Lol, probably thinking only of her future. Maybe thinking if one would only say “mom wasn’t involved”, her cell might be opened. Then, on the outside she can assist with the case. Bet she’s going beserk. She’s aware of some of the discovery & each morsel she learns must make her mind race.

STAREYES, You asked for it! Right thigh: Angela
No contact with any
phone letters

And I got some words off left thigh, too. I just saw a lot of nervousness and might I say "determined defiance" in getting her way. IMO

I bet she does cry everyday probably all day. I would have a heart attack too, of course though there is absolutely NO WAY I would so anything like what she is accused of.

I think it is both a ploy by prosecutors to isolate her and get her to roll on the others and an effort by prosecutors to keep them all from getting their stories straight.

How stupid is she to be trying to communicate with her co defendants in jail where everything is recorded and all letters are read before they are mailed. Geez. This just keeps getting better and better.

I'm doing some research on Google trying to figure out specifics of "indirect" contact. In those cases, there would be trouble for AW and probably others if she tries to pass information to one of the co-defendants through a third party - another family member, friend, etc. Haven't found a whole lot yet, but I think the third party could also be charged with something.

Otherwise, yeah, "direct" contact with co-defendants is forbidden by the order. So many examples online refer to domestic violence cases, but even violation of those orders between partners can result in an arrest. Maybe we should ask for a WS verified attorney for help in understanding what that means. For certain, if I were an outside friend or family member, I wouldn't take the risk of communicating at all with any of the W's. If I did, I wouldn't talk to them at all about the arrests, murders or anything. JMO.

Thank you so much @IQuestion! I’m blind/partially sighted, so there’s no way I could have figured it out. She must have been furious, then. What did she expect? Ugh!

Oh, wow. Thanks for that. I turned the screen cap photo upside down and tried to read it, without luck. If that's what she wrote, it's a little surprising. One would think FR's attorney would have advised her about what a no-contact order means.

Good catch. Noticed her attorneys didn't ask the judge to allow her to wear civvies in her hearing, as Jake's attorneys did. Wonder why?
