No live TV in any jail that I know of. Maybe a 20 yr old movie, well supervised with guards and not allowed to get up for any reason.

They have live t.v. in the day rooms here. The inmates saw it when G3 got arrested here in Kentucky. You gotta have something in there or things will go bad real quick.

IMO: I'd be surprised if the 4 Ws were not keeping up with one another's court appearances. They don't have a media blackout, as far as I've seen to-date. Inmates have access to information. They may or may not communicate that information either directly or indirectly to the Ws. My understanding is the Ws can't communicate between each other either personally or via third party(attorneys). In other words, keeping their stories straight. JMO I don't see how jailers can effectively censor what is in the public domain. I could be wrong.

They can’t. I do think the problem has been letters between AW & her kids. In jail, an inmate has no safe place to store things. In prison, they have a foot locker. Most jails don’t assign storage because an inmate has not essentially moved in. If any letters have been exchanged, they are going to be public, imo. Someone will steal & hide them. Someone close to being released.

I have a brother in prison in w. va. We send him money, no more than 100.00 a month. We also send a food box from a certain company every third quarter. He also works training rescue dogs and makes 50.00 a month.

There's prison in our state that allows the inmates to train rescue dogs. It seems like a really good program (for both participants).

I have an odd feeling that someone turned it over to them as a show of good faith. That's why I'm still unsure if one of the four has not already folded. They are adamant that AW not speak to any of the others, and they wanted to ensure that even jail staff not speak to JW, about the case, iirc. There is a gag order (even DeWine is covered in the gag order ) restricting any public officials from speaking publicly about the case. I wonder if there was a plan, that we're not being told about, re; handling anyone who rolled on the others?

I too wonder if someone has rolled. Specifically one of the boys. If they were raised in a controlling and closed off environment there may have been a lot of interigation that ultimately led to identification of what could be considered mitigating circumstances at some level.

Spelling out the potential upbringing and control that led to this being believed to be a "good choice" or "only option" might be just enough to remove the DP and help seal the fate of the leaders in this. I believe fully Angela was a leader in this based on what little has been revealed and found on social media. I also wonder if this may have been another point Billy's attorney was attempting to make when he revealed he had been told Billy was the mastermind but followed up with he only has a 7th grade education.

I struggle the most with the thought of two adult males, still biologically children to Billy and Angela convincing their parents to join a murder plot. I see it being pushed the other way.

If you know any attorneys, ask how they feel about being asked to deliver messages! I think it infuriates them.
Plus, it’s unprofessional.
Moo, this case is early bird gets the worm. It appears to me AW & JW are going to be first to cut a deal. Based on nothing....jmo.
Think, AW & attorney want DP off the table. IANAL. But,
I would absolutely refuse to take it off the table because indications are (to me) she’s not ready to die & will plead guilty. Case closed. She doesn’t even have to tell on anyone, only plead to the charges against her.
Moo

If I had to be incarcerated, a dog would be the only thing that might make my day tolerable. How sad it would be when it was taken away.
Very few inmates are eligible for the program, tho. They must be near parole or time served, I think.

Is she a reporter for the paper? I think she was at another court event, scribbling away.

Idk. There seemed to be a trend of gray and white plaid today w/the R family. I thought she was with the family since she too was wearing those colors, but just seated where she could get a better angle.

MSO (My State Only)

The protocol in MSO (don't know about other States) when an inmate wants to go to a funeral is:
#1. It has to be an immediate family member who passed away.
#2. You have to pay a predetermined amount for your security. This is calculated based on the distance, exact location, and logistics between the jail/prison and where the funeral is being held.
#3. You cannot attend a funeral if you are classified above a level 2. (In prison it goes from level 1 minimum security up to levels 4-5 which is maximum.
#4. You may not attend a funeral if you are in for a violent crime. A level 1-2 inmate who is incarcerated for embezzelment and who can pay the costs, has a chance to do a funeral but an armed robber would have no chance at all.

Are you outside the state of Ohio?

Prison is so much better than jail. Prisons are designed for long term housing. Jails are designed to hold a person until, they go to court, bond out or go to trial, get sentenced & move on. I THINK there used to be a law, one year in county was the max anyone could be held.
No food boxes allowed on jail, lol. Buy from the commie cart. Our local jail pours soda from a 2 liter into red Dixie cups, if you purchase soda. $2 gets you room temp Pepsi, diet P or Mt dew. Obviously no cans/bottles. They can buy instant cof’ for appx $15 for a two or three day supply & use hot tap water. Sounds good, huh? I’d rather die, personally.

Some jails in Ky allow "care packages" but I'd not call them that. I'd rename them to something more appropriate like, My Birthday Sucks Now, packages.

Trudie I am not being snarky but how do you know so much about what they do in jail? I mean I am glad you do, information wise, but you sound like you know a lot. You even know the color of the cups they pour soda in. And how much everything costs. I have never been to a jail, visitor or otherwise, don't know where the jail is in my town, or even if we still have one. I know we have police officers though and where the police station is. That's about it for me though.

It is! They melt food products to use as make up!
Some become very creative with hair, etc.
too bad they did not foster their talents on the outside.

BBM
I've asked that question so many times. WHY? You're obviously not an idiot!

Perhaps Robin likes the way she dresses and is most comfortable in what she chooses to wear. For me, I just think it is wrong to discuss her on here, especially in a way to be making fun of her.

I have learned a few things these past few days and hopefully we all can stop and ask ourselves "I WONDER WHY?" when having these types of discussions.

With that being said, I will bow out for now as this topic is not for me. May justice come for the victims. :(
Caylee I think it is just good nature joshing. I don't think anyone on here means her any malice. I know I don't. I feel sorry for her. I wish her all the best.

Good post!
Also, I think when your life is on the line, family isn't so important. Just sayin’.

It will be

I think the attorney does that purposely, and I think it should be stopped. What gives him the right? Why doesn't the camera owner own that right and place it on the defendant's FACE? My opinion.
I agree. that they do it on purpose. I notice at all the Ws' court appearances so far the attorney's strategically place their bodies to block their clients. I am willing to bet they have been in that when there is no trial in progress the attorneys go into the courtroom with their interns and have them standwhere the cameramen are generally positioned, so they can determine exactly where to place there chairs to prevent their clients from being seen

Lol! Metro jails?
Ours don’t allow packages, magazine subscriptions, etc.
(The only thing I’d want for my bday would be the key outta there.)

I agree with most everything in your post. I don't see a couple of 20 somethings children, with no records, manipulating their parents, who do have a history with breaking the law, into murdering eight people. Does not compute. I could be wrong though.

I see the same in every trial or snippet of a trial. I think JW likes to be visible so his atty might have a problem trying to conceal him.
IMO, AW has heard “death penalty” too many times already, from her attorney. She is terrified. There’s really no way out, for her.
They would be tickled pink for her to call her own destiny.
MOO

It is crazy.
OT slightly, Tricia started a thread about a murder in Ortiz Angeles, WA. It reminded me of the Rhoden murders, on a much smaller scale. 3 members of a family killed, reportedly by someone known to them.
What is going on in our world......

Very few in the program I read about here, but I think they are more long-term in the program here, but behaviour is a key part, and being able to take instruction from the handler. They get a new dog to work with, after they've trained the last dog. It sounded like a really nice program. I'd probably tame a rat and pretend it was a dog. Honestly, I think I'd just strangle myself, with string of Ramen Noodles.
