Chris Graves was pulled off the Rhoden murders story around the time she went to AK to interview them. Wasn't it around that time that Chris made the correction to her older story "Death In the Foothills" about JW picking up S? Basically, JW changed his story about when he had picked her up from the evening of the murders to the day before. Was there someone left alive in the extended Rhoden family who refuted his story?

That was also around the time JW and AW agreed to be interviewed by the Cincinnati Enquirer via email. Perhaps something that one of them said in that interview made DeWine and Reader finally focus on them. Something that didn't match a previous statement, perhaps.

I recall that. There was the first, "... reckon we just missed it by hours." interview, then later that changed in another interview. I just don't recall the gist of the second statement.

O/T The school here sent home a notice a few weeks ago with my grandsons that some students had head lice. It had my DIL all up in arms imagining every itch she had was lice. I finally told her that if she kept putting lice shampoo on those kids head she was going to cause them to be sick. I told her that stuff is an insecticide and you can't use it everyday on the off chance a louse might take up residence. Besides having head lice is not going to hurt them so she needs to chill out and wait until she actually sees some before drowning the poor boys in lice shampoo.

But I have to admit that I too check motel rooms and travel with insecticide spray for bedbugs.

O/T I thought the shampoo was going to cause my kid brain damage for sure! I nearly went insane. We had to bag soft toys, and the other steps to get rid of them were bad enough, but the hair, oh. dear. LORD! Very thick, but fine, shoulder length hair. I had the child crying, I was frustrated, and almost crying too, at one point. I kid you not, the only way that we ended up getting rid of them for good was shampooing the opposite of what the bottle said. I shampooed that kid every night for for 3-4 days, gave it a day, and repeat for two days. It was horrible. I just knew there'd be brain damage from the treatments, but, that one was the one who won the academic awards!! LOL

Bed Bugs are so much harder to get rid of than head lice! It's not about cleanliness. If I got bedbugs, Idk what I'd do. I might just strike a match, grab the dogs, and my laptop, and drive off into the sunset.:eek:

Charlie you forgot to mention the bedbugs jumping around.

Darn you’re spot on. The only thing I can tell you about bedbugs other than bringing them back from DC is what I know to be the 122% absolute fact that watched on CSI on tv a long time ago. Here it is;

Bedbugs like mosquitoes bite humans and animals and feed off blood. That blood can be analyzed for DNA.

Now I’ve learned, after watching shows about Alaska, the Bush people, life below zero and Palin, that Gil Grissom might have been dramatizing bed bug facts to get more viewers (there are subgroups of entomologists that are nuts over bed bugs). So I decided to research the little critters. I will post links in a few.

O/T All this talk of bedbugs and head lice is causing me to itch. I'm thinking about calling my DIL up just for giggles and fun and telling her I think I have bedbugs. Lol. I would but we have a big football party planned for tonight and I don't want her shampooing the couch while I am trying to watch the game. Maybe tomorrow.

Did you know?

Bed bug bites don’t hurt. Their saliva acts like a numbing agent so you don’t feel their bite and blood sucking.

Bed bugs can live through some amazing temperatures. From freezing to 120 degrees they go to sleep and wake up when it feels good to them.

They are good at hide and seek. They can suck your blood then hide for up to 10 days so you can’t find them.

Bed bugs aren’t fussy about where they hang. Beds furniture, luggage or that pile of dirty clothes in every kids bedroom, bed bugs are happyvto call everywhere home.

Incase you need to read it for yourself here’s the link.

Maybe the bedbugs were in the house Dana bought and were already there when she moved in. After all they only bought that house a month before. According to some articles on here that's not enough time to get rid of bedbugs. Apparently bedbugs are hardy little buggers.

Makes sense. But here is what I have to say about "the bed bug issue" . When Charley Reader was at the press conference and the subject of the marijuana grows came up, he said we should be past that by now. That's how I feel about the much discussed bed bug subject. Let's move on. Let sleeping dogs lye ----if it's not broke don't fix it.

That is better than tucking them in and telling them goodnight. Here’s to hoping, Dudly.

I must have skimmed over that part or misread it. I could see them treating all four trailers if only found in one, though. The family members did a lot of sleepovers with one another. The bugs travel in luggage and/or handbags. Either way I don't really think that the bedbugs played a major role in the murders. You're even supposed to stay in the home while you treat them, so... I mean, I murdered eight people b/c I found it appalling that they had bedbugs. That's a pretty piddly defense. o_O
Which part are you referring to, RSD? I’m confused haha some days it doesn’t take much :D

Things you might not know about beg bugs;

Scientists believe they’ve been around forever. It is believed they lived in caves.

It takes 3-5 minutes for a bed bug to bite or rather inject and gorge themselves with your blood.

After feeding they can hide up to 5 months between meals. They are experts at hiding and like other bigger monsters only come out at night. They are known to grow to the horrific size of an APPLESEED.!!!!!!

People go crazy when trying to rid their homes of them (see above)

The breeding habits are awful as well. The males stap the females and inject sperm.

In turn the daily mating ritual the females lay up to seven offspring per DAY!!

Bed bugs are everywhere

Bed bugs can spread bacteria and some people are allergic to them.

WS is LE friendly.

There was speculation of that in the beginning. Rogue cop, taking bribes from the Rs, and they quit paying. There's been some heat toward LE over the past couple three years too. Cool Cats link was much appreciated by me, and I'm normally, one who is untrusting of LEOs, but I felt they were doing pretty good for what they had in front of them.

Here it is again in case anyone rolled past it earlier;
How big was the Pike County murders investigation?

Beyond comprehension. Even more incomprehensible is how anyone thinks they can “outsmart” such manpower. Multiple LE is always available, in any situation, if needed.
Sure, a perp’ might get away for a time....but, they best keep looking over their shoulder. MOO

The news reported that the Rhoden s where infested with Bedbugs, what about the Wagners, because the little girl of Hanna May stayed with them on the weekend plus Jake also said he stayed part time with Hanna.

LE didn't report it. A reporter found out, and posted the public receipts, for bombing the trailers. Reader even commented that the public didn't need to see that (that's what I felt he was referring to anyway). The W homes were not movable, bombed, sealed, and stored, as walk-thru evidence so the county won't be paying for treatments if the Ws had bedbugs. We only knew because of open records, imo.

I seen where cameras were going to be used at the impound lot, but according to Jody Barr’s report he found the previous storage of the trailers unattended many times. And if to create an atmosphere of carelessness why spend thousands of dollars to move all four. Jmo

I believe to keep them from getting trashed and to have them available for possible jury walk-through. If someone wanted to take the chance of trashing them inside of a warehouse, they would be filmed doing so and quickly arrested. Out on the properties it would be simple to sneak in from any number of angles and enter them for any number of reasons and not be noticed doing so. JMO.
ETA: Feigning carelessness is only something to consider. I doubt that was the purpose (a trick) as opposed to what I believe the "carelessness" actually was... just not worrying about the warehouse since anyone entering would be caught on video and arrested. JMO.

I looked for an hour. Can’t find the invoices. Can you take my word this one time? It was in with the invoices the Sheriff turNed over to a reporter when asked about the moving cost and storage of the Rhoden homes. They have flat out disappeared.
