The Cleveland Scene reported the layoffs by the parent company are an effort to get rid of the union, it's a very conservative paper. IDK what's up with them, but I've learned to never trust them. Their old publisher used to have a nickname: Alex "the Snake" Machaskee. Looks like he retired into a lucrative job of "consulting". Will have to see what he's up to. He was very, very close to former Gov. and Sen. George Voinovich, also friends with DeWine.

Well, I think I might have figured out the how and who part of this strange pro-Wagner news feature. JMO, this may point to who is giving Fred Wagner advice on her PR campaign and helping her get flattering news stories published. Now we need to figure out why and what the end game is.

Just to clarify the interpretation that is given to my comments. I believe in the case against the Ws and I look forward to a conviction.

It is my opinion that the Ws and Rs had strong and normal relationship at one point in their history. This will play against the Ws. This crime was meticulously planned and had to be carried out by people who knew them.

To turn this into poster sides with the Ws and justifies the brutal murders is dishonest and direspectful.

WS is victim friendly. Their cause for justice is better served with the truth. Being friendly is accepting their family dynamic even if different from our own values.

That is just schematics. There is not much difference between a 12 year old and a 13 year old. Jake was an adult so it was up to him to walk away. Would you have sex with a 13 year old? If not, why not?

Adults don't place themselves in that situation because they have better sense. They don't allow 13 year old's to crawl in bed with them the same way they don't allow a 2 year old to stick their hand in a fire. Being the adult in a situation means just that, not allowing any children around them (whether they belong to them or not) to harm themselves.

It was all on Jake to say NO!! and go on his merry way. He did not because he is sexually attracted to children. A pedophile.

Yes, I've seen some stuff, too, in old news articles. The entire Wagner family & Flying W Farm have a history, so to speak. I've long had suspicions about them before they were named as suspects and arrested. We've discussed some of it here in the past.

My sincere apologies Jonas, if I implied you were taking the side of the Wagner family. That wasn't my intention. Like most others here, I think the Wagners are probably guilty and that LE did gather some strong evidence to make their case. It will be a difficult court battle, though, as the Wagners defend themselves by trying (directly or indirectly) malign the reputations of the victims. It's going to be part of their strategy, JMO. They will try to falsely portray the Rhoden family in a negative light, then claim there were other people who wanted to kill them. Wagners don't have to prove their theory, they just have to push suspicion in another direction and the way to do that is to make the Rhoden family look bad.

ETA: It's a subtle game that's played in reputation management. For the Wagners, it means carefully building up their own image while chipping away at the Rhodens. The above reference to "terrorists" is an indirect jab at the Rhodens, planting the image of them habitually associating with dangerous people. Nearly 3 years later, that's obviously not true.

What better way to increase the movie viewing (in six days) of the passions of the posters and readers here in this forum (both W and W non supporters) than to keep both sets of people fired up this week?

It works for CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. If you notice, there are 2 groups of people with strong opposing views and it has exploded this week. I don't think that that's a coincidence at all.

I'm just going to try to not comment so strongly. I don't want the families hurt any further and maybe the forum animosity can hopefully stop. I believe eight people deserve better than this.

I regret that I have participated in this point and counterpoint game thus far.

I won't be watching the movie either. I don't like being played.

If only they made bullet proof helmets. The perpetrators were not aiming at the chest except for 1 out of 8 victims.

There aren't opposing views in this forum about who killed the Rhodens. Everyone here believes DeWine, BCI and Reader when they say the evidence clearly shows the Wagners were the killers. So far, there's been no evidence to question their decision.

But, yes, in the past, defense teams have exploited social media to manufacture controversy where none exists to help their clients accused of murder. It wouldn't be surprising if the Wagner team is spending money to do the same thing. Just be careful to not take the bait and avoid sites that spread a lot of unverified rumors.
