That's a good question! Will have to look into that tomorrow and get it straightened out.

I've always put it in the "rumor but possibly true" category. Living in a camper, he wouldn't have had regular plumbing. IIRC, there was a well on the property with a spigot, etc. He would have needed to fill the water tank for his camper every time he needed to take a shower.

The Daily Mail is not really known for it's accuracy. I noticed they added an extra "0" to the number of Marijuana plants, and represented them as having 2,000 plants.
They are a UK based publication and will pay people for interviews, not that it makes the articles inaccurate, but they often overlook details because they are not very familiar with the cases they are covering and nuances between US and UK journalism. I think I can safely say they are not a competitor of the BBC. The Daily Mail is considered a quasi-entertainment publication. What they are known for are the photographs. I have also seen many discrepancies about video cameras in US publications (that are known for hard news).
I don't wish to spark a discussion about whether they should be considered MSM or not. I do think it is wise to take everything they publish with a small grain of salt(and enjoy the photos). For that matter we have seen many US/Local MSM also get details incorrect, especially in the days and weeks after the murders. We've all seen stories/interviews being updated and reedited after their original publication or airing. Then add to that Jake and Angie "changing" the facts to suit their needs.
I think the only thing we can agree on is the glaring lack of in-depth coverage the US national media has given to these tragic murders.
I am neither defending nor supporting the Daily Mail, just pointing out what it is.

It's possible. I can let anyone of my family scan the QR code and they'd have my security cameras to watch on their phone. Along with a password. Meant to quote @OhioBlues

eta, I can also put it on any computer or laptop in our house. Other users can also.
Can you please help me understand a little more about security cameras? What is a QR code and where is it located? Do the cams transmit similar to Bluetooth? Is data recorded or just watched in real time? Where might data get saved - in the actual camera(SIM card)? or to the device data is being sent to? Motion activated? Recorded in a loop?
TIA, I (obviously) don't know a lot about security cameras!:)

So to me, Jake could have copied the QR code to his phone long before any of this happened, maybe even set it up. Taking the cameras implies to me someone who would know what type camera it was. Some cameras with no need for dvr connection are self contained and record. Cameras wired or wifi'd would need the dvr removed or access to cloud account recording it. Jake may have set this system up or read up on it to easily have access to viewing.

@Puzzles8, We needed a security system due to mailbox theft in our area. Yeah, someone(s) took a bat to 3 homes in my area and knocked our's off the post. Plus, we have cool critters in our yard we like to watch if we're not outside. QR code example at link. Like bar codes but a QR scanner code reader can be added as an app to your phone to give you access to not only the software for your dvr so you can have it on your phone but can let multiple people access it on their phones. It just scans the code provided like with my system. It hooks you up on your phone to watch all the cameras or just one.

Example Render QR Code - BoofCV

Not sure I'm qualified to give the most accurate examples on cameras, just what my novice 8 camera system owner has learned by owning one and studying Arlo's pros and cons.

Thanks, these examples were just what I needed!

I agree.

Jake could have knocked on the door and Kenny would have opened it. Fred lived just a few miles down the road so Jake could say a horse is sick and he's going over there to help and his car died.

Who knows, Kenny may have opened the door and then went back to bed. He was up in the camper bunk and would have to be facing the killer to get shot in the eye so he might have been talking to Jake. Because he was up in a bunk it would be harder to shoot him in the eye if he were sound asleep especially with no light but a flashlight.

Jake could have knocked on the door and Kenny could have asked who it was also. When Jake told him, Kenny could have said come in. I think Kenny knew Jake well enough that if Jake knocked and told him who it was Kenny would not have gotten up if the door was unlocked. Men are different than women. Women get up, put on a housecoat ect. Men just yell come in and don't bother to get up if it is another man. Since Kenny knew Jake very well he did not perceive him as a lethal threat.

Okay, killing is one thing, accessory is another. And that is JMO, I think. Besides that it still doesn't mean "Jake" killed Kenny which was the point of my original post.
I think you were replying to my post. Not everything posted on this thread is iron clad fact. All of us on here throw out opinions, theories, speculation, or just random thoughts. The mods said this is okay as long as we make it clear they are not facts by posting JMO, MOO, IMO or prefacing it with "I think".

If someone reads what "I think" or "JMO" and agrees with it, that's fine. If they do not agree with my "I think" or "JMO" that's fine too.

I think this forum is great because it is a place to share facts and ideas.

JMO With Kenny's door probably not locking from the inside, I'm thinking they brought along a very powerful flashlight and flashed him upon entry, blinding him and shooting him before he could make since of what was happening before he could get his gun. What do you think?

They make a flashlight to disable people with flashing LED lights. I saw this on a TV show a few years back.

On Friday, I thought he was planning to get up early, shower at CRsr's and work on cars (maybe in Columbus) with Don/Doug (?) Stone.
MOO
DS said that but his daughter, whom he was close with and talked to daily, thought he was at work in Columbus.

I agree, if you look on the Flying W Farm web site, someone does a lot of internet setups and posting, JMO

I have to ask, where does shower at CSR's keep coming from?

I would love to know that also. They say he didn't have running water. Well, did he not do dishes, wash his hands or use the bathroom at his camper? A while back we looked at aerial photos of his place and it looked like there was a well there.

I feel if my brother had a significant fight with a man and his dad in the weeks prior and things were tense, I would not just say hey come in; especially in the middle of the night.

I wouldn't care how close Jake was a year plus ago. It sounds like things had changed significantly.
That's just my opinion.

I thought so. With a well all you have to do is attach a water hose to the camper.
He also needed water for the plants found on the premises. JMO

If it is technically possible that CR and KR could see each others property on their respective surveillance cameras then KR would have to be murdered too.

I will try to find out if it is technically possible. o_O

jmo. moo.

If it were set up to be, you could see the cameras on a cell phone. My friend had his bar set up that way. Anyone that had the password could use their cell phone to see each others cameras...

I wonder what internet offerings they have there at those properties specifically. They are quite rural.
I think much of what we are talking about is WiFi and cloud based. Many rural areas still rely on satellite internet and I'm not sure if it has the same reliability or capability. I honestly don't know for sure. Just a curiosity.

Yes, we were just looking at some aerial photos of KR's place a couple weeks ago and you could see the faucet for the well, water hose, etc. around. He was set up ok there, probably fine for him. Electricity, water, WiFi, storage shed, room for working on cars, etc. The articles about the history of the Rhoden family mentioned the little yellow house on UHR they all grew up in didn't have running water for many years. They were used to hauling water, having a wood stove, etc. We had a weekend cabin growing up with a similar set up - no indoor plumbing, no hot water heater, wood stove, etc. You adapt.

This article says all were removed.

Pike County: Death in the foothills

LM talked about the elaborate system at CR's and DS talked about the extensive system at KR's.

My guess is that the systems were setup to prevent product/cash from being stolen.

Is it possible that CR could monitor KR's grow up from CR's trailer and vice versa?

Back in my earliest notes (like May/June ‘16) I wrote down some information from an article that I believe was an interview with LM. In my notes LM said “They took all the cameras except one, they missed the one in the birdhouse.” I wrote his words in quotes so I didn’t imagine it but I didn’t save the link. I’m now trying to find that link so for now this is my theory but I know I read this somewhere.

A security camera can be set up to record to a hard drive, VCR, or to connect through WIFI or both. The WIFI can send the video to a website to be stored and/or be accessed real time remotely via cell phone, lap top or computer. Trail cams are battery operated and record to a card. Often they are motion detection cameras and take a picture every so many seconds when activated.
