Not being snarky at all, but if the witness has juvenile, and possibly even adult, charges and jail time, they've smeared their own record. If the prosecution is relying on testimony of those who have been, or are, incarcerated, that may prove to be a problem.

This. There is much of Appalachia that does not have the wifi and internet services that many others have. There are parents who take their kids to high points, or to a local McDs parking lot, to look up homework. I've got friends and family who have to sit their phones in a certain corner of the house or perch them on an open windowsill, in order to rcv/send texts. I have one of the top cell phone providers in the state, but can drive a couple three miles down the road, and my signal is gone, drive up on a ridge, and signal is back. My home internet provider is a privately owned company so I do have pretty decent home internet/wifi.

Idk how current this map is, and if Pike County was further ahead in 2016 than the rest of Appalachia, but this also gives some idea of how limited that internet/wifi access is in the region.

It shows Hughsnet and Viasat as the two Sat providers in Pike Co. according the link. Idk how much good that would do them. Hughsnet has caps on their data, (it's unlimited, but... they reduce your speed after you've hit your unlimited limit), and I'm unsure how fast their upload speed would be to upload the data from multiple cams to a "cloud" or to a cell phone(s). I know very little about Viasat. I personally don't see it as being functional, but that doesn't mean CR1 didn't figure out a way to make it so.

I lean more toward trail cams (like the birdhouse), maybe a CCTV setup, along with CR1's motion activated lights on the garage (per LM). They weren't saving data for long periods, they wouldn't be using it to save as evidence, to turn folks into LE, they were using it for making sure no one was snooping around their property. Whatever they were using, it seems they weren't checking them regularly, or else saw nothing unsettling on them when they did.

I kinda like the ATC-802.

Everyone I know in rural Ohio has satellite, usually a bundle, for phone, tv, and internet. Anyone can add a router and have wifi on the premises, and nearby.

I was just talking to someone on cell, and they went through a "zone" and lost me. I figure they'll call back when they get back up on a ridge, or at home. Our satellite, here, was horrible. We didn't even try the sat internet b/c when the trees leaved out, we didn't get good sat t.v. service, if it snowed hard, we lost service, if it rained hard, we lost service, and we were paying over $100 a month for just t.v. We took a shot on the little private internet co. here, and got an HD aerial antenna for local channels. Works great.

In SE Ohio, as soon as you get away from the larger towns, you have to be on top of a hill in many areas to get cell service. Some providers are better than others.

" ...The most recent court appearance was the Wagner patriarch on Friday. Billy's hearing was mainly "procedural" for the judge before his next court appearance, slated for May 29, according to a WXIX-TV report.

Another member of the Wagner family member has a court appearance on the docket. The ex-boyfriend of slain Hanna Rhoden, Jake Wagner, has a hearing scheduled for Thursday....

Along with eight counts of capital murder, the Wagners also face charges that include conspiracy and tampering with evidence. Jake's charges also allege he purchased various items including a net that attaches to a gun to collect spent shell casings, ammunition, and items to build a silencer.

The 26-year-old's court appearance this week will be the last of the pre-trial hearings for the Wagner family...."

“Ohio is simply not prepared to financially assist counties and the public defender’s office with capital cases of this magnitude,” said Rep. Shane Wilkin, R-Hillsboro, a lead sponsor. “It’s simply not financially feasible for Pike County to absorb costs of this magnitude. If we do not act as a legislature and provide a quick solution, the financial hardship could cripple basic services and responsibilities of the county.”..."

I think that it is possible that some of the writers made errors, in a rush to get to the presses first, with any tiny detail that they were able to obtain. Errors that didn't get noticed, and later corrected, and errors that did get noticed and later corrected. That's a very glaring difference, month vs. week. Most anyone who knew HMR would know about her, and JW's, visitation arrangements. Then again, JW could have just written month, instead of week, in error. They were pretty open about their every other week visits, from what I have gathered.

I'm taking it to mean you're asking about SM not the other mentioned in my post. Dewine did say there were drug undertones to the murders. I'm thinking 11 phones to someone who I've read was in the employment of CRSR, ( I honestly don't remember if that was here on Websleuths so I will say JMO) sure sounds like he was busy making deals. I think he may wind up playing a big part in the defense trying to cast reasonable doubt. Dewine and the prosecutors can state only undertones while defense can blow that subject wide open. I fully expect them to do so.

Hello everyone! I'm new to websleuths and this thread so please forgive me as I'm trying to figure it out. Will the court make the evidence available once the trial starts? Like the audio and photos and if there is any DNA? I never saw where they found a gun, just an attachment in the well. I'm trying to get caught up on this but the press is pretty duplicated on it's information. I wanted to see a layout of how far the 4 locations were from each other because it seems hard to me to find 8 people sleeping and enter 4 trailers with dogs/kids/adults and never wake any of them up...or at least only wake one up. My dogs bark if they hear my kids walking up the basement steps.
