Not much to say on this right now, but I mentioned a case where two people were found murdered in their bedroom, toddler unharmed in Geo. on 7/18. They charged a guy today!!

There is court precedent in the event of murder cases such as this. Sorry, I should have been more clear.:

I also referred to this:
https://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/rpt/2013-R-0364.htm

Looks to me they'd have to argue that TOD and tox reports are "confidential law enforcement investigatory records" and that releasing them to the family or letting reporters veiw them would get in the way of their investigation.

From the Dispatch article: "Hetzel said use of the 1984 case is "shaky ground" and that an autopsy report does not meet the criteria set out in the public-records section of Ohio law that establishes what qualifies as a "confidential law enforcement investigatory record."

But, I'd say those three had some fairly easily made connections. O/t but I stayed w/in walking distance of that location at one time. Not a bad locale. Most folks mind their own.

The law exempts: confidential law enforcement investigatory records. Now, a journalist can file to have them released but, if they do, it will most likely go to court, and be up to the judge as to whether or not, or how much, of the autopsy report is released. The 1984 case may be "shaky" ground now, but, there's been no further court hearings to supersede the 1984 case. If the family members have not been given the report, either something very strange is going on, OR, they've not submitted proper paperwork. CR1's mother has not submitted the paperwork to see her g-grandchildren, yet one of her sons stated in a recent article that she can't see them, well, they can't determine if she can or not, in court, til she files the paperwork. It's that simple. We do not know what is in the autopsy nor why they are keeping close to the vest. We don't know which family member has filed, or not filed, for the autopsy reports. I do know that "Tony Rhoden, a brother to Kenneth and Chris Sr., said the family doesn't want anything released that would jeopardize the case"*.

I completely agree with Tony, however, he should sit down with the investigators and go over the reports together, and if LE cannot give him rock hard proof that there is confidential info that would hinder the investigation, then he should have the authority to tell them to make the reports available to the media. At this point in time I doubt the autopsy reports will have anything more shocking than what everybody has theorized R/T the fact that we know only about 10% more than what we knew a week after the murders.
I'm thinking we could use some good carma here from the case in Geo. The guy who has been chgd with those murders was actually arrested the day of the murders, police just discovered today he was the one who killed the couple in Geo.

O/T can anybody tell me why when I choose a smiley face for a post I get two stupid question marks inside a triangle? I have only had my tablet for about two months, so there are things I haven't experimented with, and I'm sure there are things available on here that I don't even know about.

What do you see when you look at this? . If you see two question you may be selecting the smiley face from your keyboard. Use the smiley at the top of the compose window. :)

But it's not up to Tony. We don't know what is in the autopsy reports. Tony is not next of kin. His mother is. She has to request CR1s. LM has to request DMs. HG's parent(s) would have to file for hers. KR's daughter would have to file for his. CR2, FR & HR's parents are deceased and neither were married, their children are under age, so that probably leaves a grandparent to file for theirs. GR's parent(s) would have to file for his. If I understood this correctly. TR can't just roll up in there and ask for all of the reports. Even if all of those people, and the press, do file for the reports, the police can still say, "No" based on 1984 precedent, and take it to a judge for a decision. Again, IANAL, but this is just my understanding from what I've read.

Yeah, I read that he'd been picked up on something else and then the connection was made. But, they were all originally from Marietta I think, and, I'd be willing to bet there were a lot more ties connecting them all.

I thought next of kin was any blood relatives 18 or over. I have never been in the position of being next of kin where an autopsy was concerned. I of course was next of kin when I lost my first husband, but an autopsy wasn't necessary or requested.

I can't help but wonder about him saying that! I mean, I wonder if he "really" thinks that or if that's what they want us to believe.
I agree. He said it is drug related . But did not say how the drug is related to the killings. It could actually mean a lot of different things.

For sure, there is drug on the crime scene.

There is a legal order to it though. "The legal order of next of kin is defined as the spouse, adult children, parents, adult siblings, other relatives and public administrators," If the spouse is deceased, then it falls to the adult child, if there are no children (or adult children) it falls to the parents, etc. . .

Here is the link that explains it a bit better. Again, this is how I believe it to be. I could be wrong, it's been known to happen. Different states may have different rules.
http://The legal order of next of k...s, other relatives and public administrators,

Here is Union County Ohio's on How to Obtain an Autopsy Report & Who is next of Kin. I can't find one for Pike County and the Coroner site says some counties may differ.

Wow! Even though I'm a nurse I have never heard of carfentanyl. I cannot even begin to think any veterinarian in the U.S. would ever have any use for it, unless they are zoo or circus staff.
The guy they have arrested must just be downright cruel to sell this junk to people. He had to know this is potentially lethal. This guy needs to be locked up under the jail.

About the time of death :

The outdoor temperature was low on the night of april 22. The windows were left open. Would it make it difficult to establish TOD with some certainly?

If that is the case, this is a weakness in the case that LE would not want to expose.

There is a lot of good info here. I've not had a chance to read through it all but it seems to lay out the TOD procedure very well. I'd say it's pretty close to the same for U.S.
