If you carefully read the article, post 848, you will see that all that I have written has been explained carefully by
Reader..The article was written by a reporter who tries to explain the reaction between a T.V. Reporter and Charlie..
This article makes it very clear as described by Charlie that he gave the instructions to impound all evidence. He
picked the impound lot, installed a camera, also, set up a deputy to guard the impound lot 24/7...I am not implying that
an arrest is evident .. I am implying that the arrest,if there ever is one, will be dictated by Charlie...This article,
if what the reporter told is true, shows Charlie knows things can not and will not move forward until he decides it will....
I can't go any farther explaining or I am in trouble with TOSH.. Gif read the article..please..

He has a duty to protect the investigation and keep a lot of evidence confidential. To me, it seemed like he was trying to not let an out of town reporter intimidate him or his office... or manipulate the situation to get ahold of confidential case evidence. He made it clear that he will not compromise the case by releasing certain information to this reporter. That's his job, imo. As is protecting and preserving the evidence itself. It's on his county's turf, and he has to be the one to make those calls because BCI isn't responsible for those type of logistics.

Ray, I do not know if you're on facebook, but here is a page that is quite critical of Pike County LE and other agencies, and the page owner claims to be an insider. Could be legit, could be bs, but the accusations against Reader are pretty serious. https://www.facebook.com/pikecountygoodlaw/

That page seems to be the work of a disgruntled person who dislikes Reader. If they have everything they say they have, why not take it to the news, or a superior, instead of posting gripes on FB. Seems childish.

Here is my take for today..when I read this article, I remembered that the first law of the land is ,,"Do not argue with a
Member of the news media. The article shows that the T.V. Reporter was in front of the Sheriff's office with her camera
responding to a totally different assignment than the Rhoden case. All she wanted was a sit-down, face to face dialogue
with the Sheriff. He refused her offer and told her to make an appointment and present her sit-down interview questions
prior to the pre-interview arrranged meeting..That is a no no.She has pride and that rejection will hurt him down the road..My
opinion is he is protecting information and She will. Return some day and with different firepower..She was a reporter for
a national T.V. Station...He is no match for her source of getting information. He displayed a great deal of self confidence.
and repeadily told her he had authority to spend money as granted by the county commissioners...That's ok,but she knew that
and it was an insult...Tosh does not allow me to tell you why he Is displaying so much conflict..JMO.

I'm sure she will be okay. She sounds like a big girl. I'm glad he's more worried about solving the case than pleasing the media and giving them everything they want.

I agree, but it gets really old when I hear things like I need a summary of your questions before an interview, blah, blah, blah...that wouldn't be an interview, that would be more like a staging, which can make people wonder what, if anything, is LE hiding? I understand there is a big need to keep things under the hat, so to speak, but not EVERYTHING. Can make people suspicious!

I think a few of us have connected the dots and figured out why he is displaying so much conflict....great posts, Ray!! I'm so happy to see you weighing in. Just when I think I'm settling in on one theory, you always provide additional food for thought and send me back to my original theory. Thank you!!

I'm not saying this person is for real, but as he/she explains to a women named Peggy, there are reasons why they feel they have nowhere to turn. Fighting the power at work is never easy, I know that from personal experience. The page owner seems very dedicated, whoever they may be, and that makes me at least a little bit curious.

I hit the F.B.page and read their explanations of the group that defines itself as Pike County for good government.we can never
verify the organization's origin or it's degree of truthfulness .You can say things on F.B. That is prohibited on many media
sites..The value of this group,,Pike county for good government, is that they have access to Ohio chapters of Crime Stoppers
which gives them the opportunity to report tips coming in and to engage in deciding rewards to worthy participants. This hap-hazard dialogue that they engage in with the public has the potential to generate some. Very important information sooner
or later.thank you..

In reference the request for an interview and the sheriff's response, am I crazy or did Sheriff Reader purposely omit the Manley family in his comments? Or am I reading too much into that?

There are sourpusses everywhere! It seems to me that in every small town, although it certainly happens in large towns too, that LE takes their work car home with them, depending on their rank. Back in the 70's, when my dad was maintenance for an for the Texas Hwy Dept, and had been for nearly 10 years, somebody who had a beef with him over something fairly minor, called the Amarillo office that he was using his car inappropriately. The ONLY thing he was doing was picking my mom up for lunch and taking her back to work. Nothing else, ever! His supervisor in Amarillo had no problem with it, since we lived in a small town with a pop of less than 8,000. But he said it was best if he didn't, to avoid any further conflict with this person.

That was probably just an oversight since Dana's name was Rhoden.

New story http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2016/09 from Tony Rhoden and Chris Graves and before I get cussed out, I just clicked on it and it doesn't work. Go to Cincinnati Enquiror website. For some reason I can't get these websites to work when I post. Sorry!

Anyway it's about how the Rhoden family (Tony) still can't get personal items of the family, out of the trailers and how he is still paying on the loan Chris took out for the purchase of Dana's home. I'm not bank savey so, wouldn't they have some kind of morgtage insurance on a new home purchase through the bank? It seems to me, that in a case like this, insurance would cover the cost of the loan, but as I said, I don't know. And Kendra mentions that there was a very good reason for the LE to move those trailers in the first place. And the way it is reported, doesn't sound like they were worried about them getting broken into by the public, JMO.

"It does kind of limit our grieving and yes it's odd. I have never heard of or seen where they took entire homes for such cases, a lot of people find it odd," she said. "But there is a reason for it, believe me there is ... it's for a very good reason that does make sense."
She declined to elaborate.

Is she trying to act like she knows something the rest of the public doesn't, or am I reading into that too much? lol

I would think the family would be told the reasons behind moving the homes. I would also hope that a judge would allow the innocent family members to retrieve keepsakes from the homes in order to have something to remember them by before the case goes to trial. Maybe she suspects someone who might try to tamper with the evidence if they hadnt taken this measure. We probably wont understand her comment until someone is arrested and the case goes to trial.

I believe there was concern that if those houses were left on the land, they would be broken into, ransacked, things probably would be stolen, and they might have even been set on fire if the killers were worried about evidence left behind.
THAT I understand. But LE could take a family member in those homes so they can get pics, important papers, and any other necessary items so the probate can begin. LE should not expect the family to sit and wait on an arrest and trial to happen before they can make the first steps in settling the estate.
The murder of two people in Florida the third week in August, where they have the only killer, announced that the house where the murders took place is already on the market. Obviously, LE did a thorough investigation and got adequate photos necessary to go to trial within less than six weeks. Is PCSD unable to do the same?
The two nite mini series about the Ramsey murder this past week had a life size
replica the of the home where the murder occurred for continuing investigations, since the case remains unsolved. THAT, I believe, would be very sufficient in this case, and there would be no need for security cameras and round the clock surveillance, which costs the county more and more with each passing day. I think the cost of replica homes would definitely prove to be more cost efficient in the long run. :kickcan: :cat:

Ok, I am not trying to dominate, but I sit here and read and research these candidates and the information I glean, ,I am
passing on to you. So here goes, My research has proven, from the Pike County register's office. That Charlie is
a candidate for Sheriff to fill the unexpired term of the former sheriff. He is running as a democrat. Also running as
a republican is Mr.Soushter.When the two ran for sheriff in 2008, they ran against the sheriff who won and resigned
May of 2005.. The first election in 2008' Charlie ran as an independent and the sheriff who won ran as a democrat.
Mr. Shouster ran as a republican...As I read various comments, the public has been aware of Mr.Shouster's intent
to complain about Mr Reader changing parties in this election..Someone posted that the media filed a complaint
that Charlie was violating the law by using a county vehicle to politick .All of this is common when the incumbent
has all the marbles in the game. Some poster said that the T.V. Reporter was an outsider and could not be trusted
with the truth. All the reporter has to do is go to the County Comissioners and ask them to talk.I am sure they will
run over her for the opportunity to be on camera.Charlie is not entirely safe from the media.
The other bit of strange behavior is that Charlie gave the orders to impound all evidence...He, then, installed a camera.
Why? Then he assigns a deputy to guard the impound lot 24/7...I am asking myself, If the deputy is guarding the
Impound lot 24/7 what is the camera for? I can't tell you for certain but I have an opinion. That T.V. Reporter was asking
about that camera and Charlie cut her off...If I violated TOSH, please forGive me. More to come
