OH - Pike County: 8 people from one family dead as police hunt for killer(s) - #24

I just got finished watching that "extended interview with Sheriff Reader" on Channel 9 that was a "pay for view" in Nov of 2016.( me I'm poor so I didn't see it before).
He seems very sincere about wanting to solve these crimes. I found it very interesting and seemed to get a little info from it. To me, it seemed he and AG Dewine had some differences in the way they wanted to handle what was told to the press. But that's JMO.

He came to tears when he was talking about the three year old child and what he must have experienced while the crime was going on. It lead me to believe that the child must have heard or seen more than we thought. (JMO). (that poor baby).

And he was pretty certain in was not a cartel, and was local. That the "pot" that was reported was made to be bigger than it really was. CRsr and KR had small indoor grows, one bigger than they other, but not by much. There was "nothing at all" at Dana's home.

Asked if the "dwellings" (trailers) were secure, and he said they were very secure. Reporter asked if rumor of shrink wrap was true and he said he wouldn't deny it.

Also asked by reporter if these murders at 4 different scenes, could have happened in 30 minutes. He replied "it happened very quickly".

The woman who slapped Jr was Dana's sister's husband's sister. No actual relation to the Rhodens.

The woman who slapped jr is R Allen, she is married to a Clay I believe.She is not K M C's husband's sister.

Seems to me "these" family members (and there are a lot ) are a family of hard-headed, stubborn people! With a lot of opinions of whose doing right and who's doing wrong. ( I have some in my family, and am one of them,lol) The difference in some though is, they say their piece and that's that. (me). But some will not. Judgements are made, imbelishments are added, gossip goes back and forth and resentments grow. Anger builds and before you know it, fights either verbal or physical break out.
It seems to me that Dana was trying a different approach by calling in the police about the incident with RCA. Or maybe she wasn't? If someone smacked my child and I just reacted instead of thinking first, I would have been the one arrested and not the person who did it.
Maybe since RCA was a family member she knew she had prior incidents with the law, and choose to get revenge on her for slapping her child, by letting the law handle it? JMO

Or maybe she was afraid of her and the people she was associated with and thought it was better to let the authorities handle it.

If she wasn't there when CR2 was slapped, she may have had a cooling off period. If someone slapped my kid and I was standing there, I'd probably have climbed their frame. DR had a history of DV and RA so she wasn't new to getting in the mix.

Maybe we have been looking at the wrong primary target. Maybe it wasn't CR1. Maybe it was DR and they killed everyone close to her.

I know we shouldn't "judge a book by the cover", but one of RCA's relatives would probably have me shaking in my boots if I had to be in the same room with her! Not only do I think by looking at her she's as mean as a snake, but what little I know about her factually, leads me to the same conclusion!

Mean enough to kill 8 people? Or have them killed?

KJMC is married to a Clay. That Clay's brother, I think, is the father to one of BJM's children (KJMC's bil).

That would explain why BJM and LM would not be telling all they knew. If one of BJM's children was at risk. Those being KC's in laws would explain why she and her kids were not telling all they knew. I would think if they were that violent that living with them would keep you in fear all the time, especially when they visited.

Do you know what kind of people her family are? Would they be the kind of people who decided to "take care of a problem" with DR with the kind of violence that killing 8 people entails? Or do they have friends or associates that would be capable of it?


Are they the kind of family that if someone told Sheriff Reader anything that the remaining family members (those not arrested for the murders assuming there were arrests from the information) might come back and take revenge on that person who told or their family?

One last thought. Maybe it wasn't someone trying to get rid of the obnoxious Rhoden family, but DR trying to get rid of a different family member by sending them to jail for slapping a minor. Maybe it was DR and CR1 who were the ones "fed up" with the behaviors of others.

A case with this many victims and a pretty darn big extended family, I think we probably all say "huh" now and again.

Yep and that is truly frightening. You don't know who is in line behind you at the gas station, doctors office or Walmart. Whoever did it is out there!

I went back and looked, just out of curiosity, and the woman who slapped CR2, is not listed on the court docs with the last name of Clay. Her name is listed as RRA. The violation date was 02/24/2016, and the summons was issued on 02/24/2016. She was found guilty on 04/20/2016.

I checked her out early on ( on fb) accounts were changed, friends, family lists were "shrubbed" and changed. Several different name combinations used. Hard to figure out. This has happened with others mentioned on here.

This is JMO, and/or gut feelings, but I can't get over that these murders were "personal" and not about business. ( I could be wrong and have been before).
Some things that make me lean this way are:
Covering Chris Sr. with a sheet. They beat him, shot him and who knows what? But someone couldn't look at him after that. To me, that's a sign of remorse (small, but still there) someone wasn't as cold-blooded as the others.
Another reason I feel this way is the babies were left alive.
IMO, CRsr and Dana, fought like hell to save their family. The killers knew they would, that suggests to me that someone knew them personally.
The number of shots to HHG ? That to me was personal to. I'm an outsider, looking at her as a young, caring, mother. A little nieve, not very mature due to her age and upbringing, didn't even drive a car. Kinda "stuck" at the house and situation she was in. Who? would have that kind of hatred for her?
KR, shot once, sounds like they just wanted him dead and out-of-way as quickly and painlessly as possible. Again, to me; a sign of some kind of caring.
HR is the only one I feel was shot while she slept another sign they were easier on her.
Gr, FR and CRjr, I feel, some hatred for them to.
I can't get over that from the beginning, the main reason or plan was the murder of this family.
