Have they already revised the article? I could have sworn it was stated in there that the arrest is not related to the murders and now I don't see it. I must be losing it. Will read word for word again.

Whatever, the paper is considering it breaking news... someone must think there's a link.

I just posted I noticed it was updated 8 minutes ago. They seem to be updating the article pretty constantly. I looked for a press release on the AG site for their specific comments but nothing is on there yet.

See quote from Kendra Rhoden in story "family clings to hope"

She wasn't there and is probably going with "the blood in his eyes" which happens a lot to head shot victims.

Kendra Rhoden wonders if the loaded gun her dad kept near his head while he slept was also taken. She also doesn’t understand why her light-sleeping father wasn’t startled awake before he was shot once in the right eye. To her, that indicates he must have known or trusted his killer.

I wonder about a lot of things but that doesn't make it fact. jmo idk

I still wonder if Kenneth was shot through the window to avoid the dog, brownie.

Kenneth Rhoden’s dog, a pit-terrier mix named Brownie, was alive and well when a cousin and his son found Kenneth Rhoden lying dead on his back in his bed, hours after the first seven victims had been found on Union Hill Road, several miles away.

'Brownie is a ferocious dog Kenneth had for protection. He was a guard dog.

Although evidence in this case was discovered over the course of the ongoing investigation into last year's killings of eight members of the Rhoden family, this case is unrelated to the homicides. Authorities continue to request that anyone with information on the ongoing homicide investigation call 1-855-BCI-OHIO (224-6446) or the Pike County Sheriff's Office at 740-947-2111.

* * * * Ohio Attorney Generals statement on Facebook. There is also a link on here with some of the details of the arrest.

Although not related, I'll wager that this is the kind of bargaining chip that might prove helpful in identifying leads in the murder.

I have always believed that the illegal activities of at least some of the murder victims (def felony level marijuana production; possible 🤬🤬🤬🤬 fighting; possible gambling associated with demo derby activity) is the lynchpin to the case. Either someone planned an expansion that threatened someone else's turf, or they were being pressured to move into some other area that they were not comfortable with. My money would be on the first. Although the alternate theory that they had turned on someone else in the biz (recent PO box incident) has also had appeal. Best approach for LE is to round up folks with an association and offer deals until they get sufficient info to ID and go after whoever the perps (and perhaps the perps' org) were.

Kendra R. could be wrong. AG & LE could be wrong too when they say perps were familiar with the victims. But I think there is a simpler explanation.

It's likely the dog barked and woke up KR. It would be hard for a shooter to have a clean shot through the window, in the dark,* with the dog barking, KR aware and armed. It's more likely KR let in the perp he trusted, remain around his bed, and was hit by a precise shot at close range.

How would Kendra R know about the missing gun, the eye wound and the assumption her father trusted her assaillant?

If LE believed he was killed by someone he knew, they would interview people who are very close to him. I would speculate she learned this in an interview. Otherwise I am not sure LE would have shared this information with her.

Why did she feel the need to share it? I don't know.

OK. Change the sentence with wonder.

You still wonder if he was shot through the window. She wonders if he knew his assailant.

bbm, This is something that bothers/haunts me. If it was someone that knew the 8 murdered people, what could they have done to someone that knew them that would have caused them to be murdered.?

There are plenty of scenarios. The thread is full of them. I posted theories on this threads. Others have too. More generally statistics would show that in family murders, most often the victims knew the assaillants.

What do you think of the court decision related to the children ?

BBM

It's possible. But, I would think that the dog would have started barking if a stranger was at the window.

Not sure... But it would seem that it's possible that LE thinks/feels that the children were over looked. It's possible the 4 day old (in bed) was not seen & not known about, the 3 year old was spending the night and was on the couch asleep, wasn't expected to be there(iirc), the 6 month old was also in the bed and could/may have been over looked. With that being said I can understand LE not wanting them with family members. jmo idk

Lot's about this don't add up. If it's true about the money at Kenneth's feet why was it left behind, and the plants at that location were left behind. At the other location the plants were there. Plants at three of the four locations, Christopher/Frankie lived in 2 trailers I believe at the same location but I think those 2 were the 2 other locations with Kenneth's that had the plants. JMO I am thinking Dana's location did not have plants.Nothing was taken that is known about to the public. Is it possible that the addresses to the 3 locations was beat out of someone at one location? Was something that was suppose to be at one of the 4 location not found? or was it found and LE/we don't know what it is? Lot's of unanswered ?'s

I think the children are linked to the motive and that the victims did nothing wrong apart from being themselves with their personalities. That's just my opinion.

I tend to believe what LE & AG say. Add it up.

I agree. The Sheriff has made it clear that he would be willing to talk to the prosecutor about helping out anyone who had information relating to the murders -- he specifically mentions drug trafficking too:

"anyone worried about incriminating themselves for any illegal activity (or) drug trafficking shouldn't worry about coming forward with information. We're worried about the murders of 8 people. I would be willing to speak with the prosecutor..." -- this was from the extended interview with Sheriff Reader.

So if Josh Rhoden knows something about these murders, dropped charges or a reduced sentence could get him talking.

While it might not be directly related to the Rhoden murders, we might see a domino effect leading to to the cracking of this case!

Money was probably left behind because it's not about money or business.

Funeral aid was granted for FR and HG so I tend to think there was nothing in their trailer
