First of all I think we got a little "war" going on between Jody Barr and Sheriff Reader.
That's not nessesarly a bad thing. It keeps LE on their toes and lets us know that someone is watching out for the family. I'm glad that someone with infleuence can let us know something.
I know that LE in Pike Co has their hands full right now, but you can't let things slide just because of it. This is JMO. (sorry about the spelling!)

And I agree with you Betty P. There sure is a mess going on in Pike Co!

Yes, Reader comes off petty and unprofessional here. Not sure what Reader expects from the news media when they've locked down all information about the case and revealed very few details to the media and public. And still haven't caught the killers.

If Reader is so certain who the killers are, why is he so hostile to anyone asking questions? The level of secrecy about this crime is abnormal. Local and state LE haven't shown much respect for the community at large. All they've done is refuse to answer questions while tossing insults, veiled accusations and threats at the community while offering no reassurance or protection. It's as if Reader and DeWine think the entire community is guilty of a crime and deserve disrespectful treatment, ironic considering the horrible problems local LE has experienced in the recent past. I can't recall another case in recent memory when LE has treated a local community so poorly. I feel sorry for the people who have to live in this county. Their public officials don't seem to be very nice people, they deserve better.

I might be misremembering but I think Jody Barr was the same reporter who did the story back in September about a lack of security at the warehouse where the evidence is being stored. That reporter has been staking out that warehouse pretty much since the evidence was all moved there and has had some unflattering things to say about local LE. That may account for the sheriff's unflattering opinion of the reporter.

Reader, in an 11:07 a.m. Facebook posting, Reader wrote: "To alleviate the mis [sic] reporting of Fox 19 ' Jody Barr , AGAIN, he reported the Hadsell Chemical building being "raided" last night, this is the facts: my office was in receipt of a civil Writ of Possession for Personal Property against Hadsell Chemical Processing LLC. WE DID NOT EXECUTE A SEARCH WARRANT and DID NOT "RAID" anyone."

[...]

Aside from the Rhoden evidence, the only evidence we could find of another operation located at the warehouse is the Hadsell Chemical Processing company and a Relevant Compounding, a chemical compounding company. Reader's Facebook posing indicated the raid was related to a civil case involving Hadsell Chemical Processing.

No one was available from either business on scene Monday night for comment.

Noticed this article has been updated since I first read it the other day.

Yes, things are a mess down there. As someone posted earlier, it looks like Reader is being sued for not following court orders in executing the Writ mentioned above in timely fashion.

http://www.fox19.com/story/34401956...co-sheriff-connected-to-rhoden-warehouse-raid

And, for the next 82 days, court records show Pike County Sheriff Charlie Reader “has neglected or refused to execute the Writ, has not returned an inventory of personal property levied upon or tagged, and/or returned any money collected or received therefrom,” a Jan. 25, 2017 filing shows.

The fine for not executing the Writ is $1,000 and 10% of the judgment amount (which comes to around $35,000).

It was stated in an article that money raised in the 🤬🤬🤬 acct was returned to donors because the family could not agree on how the money was to be used. The acct was set up for funeral expenses, and a little over $8000.00 was raised. Seems to me that would have a no brainer...eight deaths, $8000.00. The most reasonable thing would have been to pay $1000.00 on each persons expenses.

Was that comment in the article deleted, or am I losing it? I can't find it--google leads back to WS.
Yes, Jax49, the article has been edited. I'm sorry I didn't save the original.

What tells you HG was a bystander?

My gut feeling tells me this case is all about mothers. It's about feelings, hormones, sex or sins.

Just have a look at the list of witnesses in this case. Most of them are women.

I think you misunderstand my use of bystander....she was an extra person...the rest are blood family who have known each other forever..her being part of the family came later....the rest seem rough around the edges for lack of a better word...she has been described as sweet...pictures show her that way too...

I also agree this isn't about drugs, cars ..it's about revenge, anger and even hate...at who is the $64,000 question

There is a video on Jody Barr's FB page that has Kendra and her mother speaking. I'm in the process of trying to find his other videos but our internet is slow.

About the gofundme refund

Manley credits the congregation of the Union Hill Church, about a mile from the Union Hill crime scene, for support, including paying off the expenses of burying his daughter and grandchildren.

Manley received funds from the church, funds from the State for the funeral. Therefore one might ask how the gofundme will be spent.

Manley lives in poverty according to Fulton as reported by K.Hale. I don't see why people would be so difficult with regards to generous funds.

I keep coming back to his comment investigators asked his children how much they were paid for the crime.

And that's why they were shot more than others - they were trying to fight the attackers. That was kind of clear from early news media reports. Others who were asleep weren't shot as many times.
.
But we don't know about the others. We don't know if DR let them in and was immediately shot five times in the head, nor how many times CR2 was shot. He could have been up as well.

I apologize my comment was perhaps a bit strong. I like to rebound on a comment to make a point on something

My assumption has always been that the killers had automatic weapons that fired multiple rounds in short bursts. They did it to ensure victims were dead. They didn't want any victims talking. Standard for professional assassins, LE and the military.

Paramilitary, LE, people militia are all possible. I hear some people are heavily armed there and some individuals have really strange ideas.

In my opinion, if these profiles were involved in this case, their motivation would be more ideological than business.

In any case they would need help from someone close to the victims. According to info released by officials

Killers have been very good at:
- lying to the victims in the preparation of the crime
- lying to the survivors mourning
- lying to the investigators

...and most probably lying to the media, directly or indirectly.

I think Reader figured that but Jody Barr hasn't

A last one for today:

Neither AG or LE have officially confirmed the presence of dollar bills on KR's body. If true it could be a message from killer.

Stone revealed that Rhoden's corpse, from its knees down, was strewn with dollar bills which may have been a sinister message from the killer, who police believe could have been a gangland member.

Who had a financial relationship with KR?

1) His business associates,
2) DS who admitted receiving money on occasions
3) His own family who depended on him.

Anyone else?

Make note of this in the video

"- 9, I am saving my 10"

Was it ever stated how Frankie and Hannah's trailer was entered after CR1 & GR were found? Was it locked?

Never mind, iirc the little one on the couch unlocked it.

  • #559
So it appears that all the doors to the trailers/camper were locked. I never heard/saw that DS just opened the camper door or if he had a key. It's my opinion that LR had a key to Kenneth's camper and it was locked.

I am starting to think that all were shot through the windows to there bedrooms. The only trailer that seemed to have been entered was CR!'s trailer where a fight seemed to have happened. IIRC Bobbi-jo stated that there was drag marks (in blood) that led to the back bedroom. IIRC GR had started stay with CR1 just a few months prior to the murders, I wonder if his presence was unexpected. jmo idk I do think a silencer was on the weapon. I have a hard time thinking that the people that lived around the properties wouldn't have heard the shots. jmo idk

I wondered if that part about money was true, was it part of a much larger sum and part of it was dropped? Or maybe they felt the smaller bills weren't worth taking. Then it could also be saying, you wanted to make some extra money, here you go...
