The Wagners are also charged with burglary. What do you think they stole from the Rhodens? Just cash? Guns?

I'd not heard that about him leaving JM leaving his phone in his truck overnight. I'd heard he got the text late at night, and AM checked in on DR via internet. Is this in the indictments? I've had to sit the grandkids two days in a row and haven't gotten far in them at all.
That was only a speculation discussed here on Websleuths.

James Manley's sister found the bodies and she immediately called her brother.

Thanks for clarifying that. BJM called Len or James right after she called 911. They decided to split up with James checking Dana's home and Len going to CR1 & Frankie's homes. It's in our timeline. James then saw what happened, heard the police sirens coming up the road and went out in the driveway to flag them down. No wonder Len was so angry when LE confiscated James' truck and work tools and refused to return them.

Will each of these killers get the same public defender (who will pass messages between these killers) or will they each get a separate one? (I want Angela to feel very alone and abandoned.)

Well, well, well...finally a resolution for the murdered 8 & their families. Just think, one of the first statements I remember hearing early in this case was from Leonard Manley, Danas father, who said this was about custody. What a long, winding path to the full truth. God be with the little ones.

Very true. She was on my radar very early on. The queen bee, respected in the community, very connected, who ruled the family roost. As someone else mentioned earlier, these people regarded themselves as something akin to royalty, a grand blood line that needed to be protected. Rules and laws didn't apply to them, especially when religious beliefs are included in the mix.

As FW said, the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, and I guess He tooketh away their freedom yesterday. I understand you have distaste for churchgoers... but I think religion and the 2A are in the TOS about this case.

I am not as generous as you Betty. AW's mother was ONLY charged with forging custody documents and then the whole line of people who could have gained custody or even visitation rights are murdered and she knew nothing about that? It didn't pique her interest?

I don't buy it either. As someone on here pointed out this is Appalachia, a region where family is everything. RN may not have known for certain, but I would bet she knew her daughter was lying to her about her involvement. Families in this area are very close.

Keep in mind she is also charged with lying to the GJ on July 18, 2018. She may have been in denial, but she knew. She knew or she would not have lied to the GJ.

The indictments mention a home security system, but they also leave it open as to other things that may have been stolen. Anything is possible and I hope we find out.

They will each likely get a separate PD. There is no way one would be able to defend such a case. Their lawyers will have to have a specialty with defending a death penalty case too. However FW may foot the bill on the lawyers for all of them. I do believe she has the bucks to do so if need be. GW3 was caught in front of Rood and Riddle, that's not just any horse vet. Major bucks. My mares sure never saw those vets.

Reading the indictments again, I'm changing my mind about FW's charges and complicity. She is included in the conspiracy counts against the others, in the charges of conspiring and planning with the killers. Her indictment, though, only contains charges of obstructing justice and perjury before the GJ. IANAL, but given she's mentioned in the conspiracy charges against the others, she should be charged with conspiracy too.

I'd not be surprised if it was about that too b/c , honestly, I did not think the four of them could make it on their own, in AK, based on what I'd researched in Ohio (seems they couldn't), so, it lead me to think that they just couldn't pull something off like this by themselves. GW4's ex is probably breathing a sigh of relief tonight too. That weird stuff that happened after her visit, with her son, makes me think that was a setup to get her distracted while they trotted off with her son, too.

As one whose family lived, survived and thrived in Alaska for 35 years, we had the best training in the world. Farming and hard work as kids.

We had mentors and a strong network of friends who taught us how to survive. We raised two kids that have the same.

You don’t find success up there in 12 months, it takes 3-4 years. But once you’ve done it the sky is the limit. We were determined to succeed after the Michigan economy went south in 1980.

So if the Wagner’s would have been smart they would have gone to Canada where they refuse to extradite when criminals are facing a potential death penalty. Giving up on Alaska tells me they are lazy. Not going into Canada tells me they were just plain DUMb

Angela’s strength was enhanced by her military training. I believe she’s the one that did the major planning in this crime. She wanted S so much it was an obsession. They did the same with the other grandchild.

Everything else was just a side issue.

It is to bad a 76 yo is involved. FW WILL DIE IN CUSTODY AND THATS A HELL OF A WAY TO FINISH LIFE. I imagine she helped with documents. And maybe money. But the rest of her kids will get the farm and money. If the remaining Rhodens don’t sue andvtoe it all up forever. What a mess the Wagner’s made for a large amount of people.

Burglary can be just breaking in. But they took security camera and might have found a huge stash of cash. Their primary purpose was to murder. Theft was a bonus.

RSD1200, here's a link to a good article in the Chilli Gazette with discusses the structure needed for the trial defense and public defenders if they use them.

Prosecution of Wagners in Rhoden murders to take 'years,' cost thousands

wow, finally, arrests. I really had my doubts that this would ever be prosecuted.

Officials would not provide details on a possible motive for the killings but allege that a custody battle played a part. All of the Wagners were also charged with forgery of a custody document and tampering with evidence, according to the indictment.
