In one of the newer media links, I don't recall which one, it has older pics, I assume driver license pics of the 4, GW3 and JW both have sores on their faces that aren't acne. That's meth and it makes you extremely paranoid, on top of their own paranoia, that would have fueled a lot of rage. I have a cousin who just got 6 years for his meth paranoia. Shooting at a kid that was by the road near my cousin's property helping a car wreck. I wouldn't doubt they were on steroids either. I recall in pics of their house before they left out for Alaska there was weights and work out equipment. That and the hunting culture and their sense of power and entitlement and AW's military experience was a perfect storm.
I don't think RW was the CI at all. The indictments say John Doe, not Jane Doe. She seems like the only halfway sensible one of the bunch to me. She's the manager of the farm as well. I think their planning and conversations were done when she wasn't around, busy running the farm. I love the idea of the father being the CI. I can see FW running his life their entire marriage. My husband's aunt and her husband had a similar type marriage. She made him live in the basement. It was messed up! So I can clearly see him as getting his last revenge on her. It had to be somebody very close to them.

BECKYSTARKEY Very interesting info! Did the W's build a church on their property or was it already there?? Was/is the church open to the community? Could explain why she had no speeding or parking tickets.... never had to race to Sunday service with a bunch of kids in tow. (Oh the memories... the CHP pretty much knew our schedule, lol.)

You know, I don't recall how I know that, this case brought me to WS from the day this happened(hubby thinks I'm crazy, lol), I just recall reading it here throughout the threads somewhere. My guess would be she built it, but I don't know. I also wonder if she inherited the property or bought it. I think there is or was a nursing home on the property as well. Does anyone know if this is the nursing home that L Manley was referring to about LE taking a blanket from an old man or was it the one where Dana worked? That part of the puzzle has always had me wondering since LM mentioned it. He sure did leave us a lot of clues really.

The entire article is a "must-read". It also states that a Rhoden family member told the reporter that Jake Wagner tried to get Hanna to sign over rights to Sophia in the weeks before the murders, but she refused.

He says they "co-habited" between 2013 and 2015, living at either her mother's home or his mother's. I wonder how much of all this is true.

Can't read tehh article just yet, and, Idk about the staying at her mother's home, but there were LOTS of FB pics of her at their home, that were public, of her, and him, at his home. A post about the excitement of getting to go on vacation together, with his parents, to Fla. (If my hd didn't eat it, I may have the screenshot, somewhere, I'll look). They went there to hunt boar, iirc. There's a photo of the two families, and GW3's now ex wife, all together. I would love to hear from GW3's ex.. She and HMR were there at the home at the same time, and seemed to be friendly. I hope she speaks. Saving the article for a read here shortly!

Rhoden family massacre: Prosecutor alleges Fredericka Wagner plotted revenge

Latest update on the arraignments yesterday from the Chilli Gazette. I like to fo;;ow them as they sometimes have good local sources.

I'm still shocked they allowed FW out given she was helping the family plot an escape. They probably don't have the manpower to keep an eye on her 24/7, out there in the boonies. She may be elderly, but she seems to still have her wits about her and she has a lot of money. JMO, she could also be a threat to any witnesses who might testify.

Possible that the W’s killed all the R’s bc killing just HR would obviously point the finger directly to her JW, her ex. By killing the whole family they could try to make it look like a grudge, business deal gone wrong, or drug dispute. I think the undercurrent of drugs dewine mentioned is just an allusion to either the W’s disapproval of the R’s marijuana growing — or possibly he means everyone was using drugs and perhaps that led to generally bad decisions on everyone’s part.

I just don’t think motive was to stop any R from getting custody of SW, Bc JW, as father would theoretically be granted full custody once HR was dead. I feel like HR was the target but the others were just to take away the ex bf is the killer conclusion which is always the most probably explanation.

Could someone help me? I don't understand how the Grand Jury decided to charge(?) the Wagner family. I'm 100% sure they had enough evidence but I don't understand the process. Do they just call jurors in before they arrest people to decide if they have enough evidence? How does the word not get out? I can't see jurors being able to keep their mouths shut long enough even if they had an oath. People love their gossip. I'd appreciate it so much if you could explain.

What kind of kittens were they??? Bengal tigers???? I have an adopted cat, whose owner became allergic, and they paid nearly $400 for her, and I thought, she's gorgeous, but . However, I've never paid for a cat, they always just kinda show up here, folks drop them near a barn up the road, or I've had a weak moment and adopted one.

O/T; I have adopted several shelter dogs throughout the years, taken in strays, and donated to local shelters, but, there is one particular breed, that I will probably always have in my home, but I do go to a reputable breeder to obtain a pup. I love the breed, and enjoy seeing the integrity of the breed's temperament, and confirmation, being kept alive by reputable breeders. I love my mutts just as much, but, I will probably always have a Rott.

Where did the Rs get their dogs I wonder? Maybe the Ws had given them one equipped with techno-spy capacity preinstslled trained by them so it'd behave.

On the windows, is it possible they gassed the place to knock the Rs out so they could easily overwhelm them all? Then opened them to air it out.

Grand juries are convened by prosecutors to hear evidence about a case. The proceedings are secret, as are the witnesses called. Prosecutors are in charge, bringing in evidence and calling witnesses to testify. Witnesses can't have a lawyer present.

Jurors are chosen by the prosecutor and there are penalties for talking about proceedings, so I guess most of them don't reveal anything.

Grand Juries only have the power to indict. The prosecutor then decides whether to pursue the case in court.

This is so sad, grateful for arrests. Wondering if JW left a window open or a door unlocked when fixing the crib. Was he gloating inside and before he left made one scary comment, now knowing he was full of hate. He would have had to hold all that hate in while visiting. The other thought I had is the W's were breeders for years, some breeders are more like hoarders, they do it to get another pet, the most superior pet they get to keep. They kinda gloat about it. Maybe they just couldn't accept the concept of not getting their pick. As twisted as that thought is. The cold horror of these murders makes me wonder what they really did to animals.

In light of the tech they used it may be possible he was installing tracking apps or equipment for wiretapping.

I understand she is an addendum to the Waggies but I am wondering what she has been told and what terrible feelings she may have after marrying into this legal quagmire. Has she had Jakes 2nd or 3rd child? Anyone local heard? This is not meant to involve her at all. In fact if anything I feel sorry for her, her very nice family, The church in Nikiski(Kenai) who, it appears we’re all snookered by the WAGGIES.

The plan had been in place far to long. The Waggies were determined to eliminate Hanna and every close family member who had a significant position to file for custody.

As far as the fight I haven’t seen where Law enforcement was involved. I could be wrong here. I don’t think the end result would have been different.

No one in their right mind,even knowing the seriousness of the conflict between these two clans would have come close to imagining what crazy plot the Waggies had put in place. We can follow it now, but this is a ZEBRA IN A HERD Of HORSES as far as an off the wall bizarre mass murder conspiracy.

But even if the primary conflictors had been arrested charged, they would have bailed out. The plan would have gone on regardless.

Once the Waggies decided to eliminate the Rhodens nothing was going to stop it.

It’s rather obvious the Waggies were or had a member well versed or an expert level computer geek. They bought a bug detector. I don’t think Was the kind to zap mosquitos. That could have been part of the silencers but it could have also been an electronic device.

Apparently they also had been monitoring the Rhoden cell phones. That could mean they had complete access to texts, conversations, internet info and most importantly GPS access to pinpoint exactly where and when each of the Rhodens were, what they said and who they said it to.

If the Waggies went a step further, every single phone, iPad or computer AND SECURITY CAMERAS INSIde AND Out could have been used to monitor every step every person made any visitors and every word of every conversation was monitored and known to the Waggies family.

To me that is frightening. It was sophisticated and it worked. The human element was the variable and that portion failed by leaving evidence.


One final thought or opinion whichever.

I have always believed ANGELA was the brains in this outfit.

They terrorized the other grandchild’s mother into custody relinquishment if I remember correctly. But this plan required intelligence, precision and detailed preparation and execution. Angela had military experience and in my opinion utilized her experience to murder the opposing family of her only grand daughter. A child she and she only wanted to raise as her own as only she saw fit.

She was the brains, she accepted the fact that 8 living breathing human beings had to die because she wanted that child.

I’m beginning to understand this whole plan. As ugly as it may be the rest of us normal people have to accept the twisted morally bankrupt people who killed 8 people so one little girl could be raised and controlled by one sick grandmother.

Her husband showed Blue, she talked about the only time that Blue ever lost was the one time that RAW showed him. She also spoke about how she acquired him. She wanted him, and she wrote the owner a check for double what he was worth to get him. In the article about the barn fire, she said that RAW ran into the burning barn, beat down doors with his fists, to save the minis, Blue was in there too, but, as is the case with horses, they would not leave the barn. He jumped out of the barn as it exploded.

Do you happen to know why he split from the family? I'm quite curious.

That story is legend in the miniature horse world. I saw Blue Boy one of the last times he showed at The Ohio State Fair.

I was told it was over the horse biz. I think when he left was when they quit showing miniature horses. Showing horses is a ton of work and very physical. I was told his dad was no longer physically able to show and with RW gone; they stopped showing. RW was the one that got burned trying to get Blue Boy out of the barn.

His farm is very well known and his horses are AMHR National Champions. His daughter KW is now showing too and is listed as owner of many of the horses. He didn't show much at last years nationals which is very out of the norm.

Most horse people are still scared to say much. At least in the group I am in. RW is a very intimidating man. He pretty much got away with things no one else could. I normally don't back down from anyone; but in this case I knew the threat was real and not just something thrown out there. It was a very uncomfortable week

And especially if he and his daughter were close, as many dads and daughters are, and she confided in him before his death that she felt like this "family situation" was not fair to her and taking her livelihood and future away when it wasn't her burden to bear because she had nothing to do with it. The dad is still my working theory, did he mail a statement or evidence leads for LE to pursue close to his death, he had ways it could have been done on the down low.

And of course the whole break-up was HR's fault. He was just a hard working man out there doing the best he could to support his girlfriend and baby. And poor him, his girlfriend left and took his daughter just because he worked too much. Not one mention of all the abuse the Rhoden's said he inflicted on HR. Psychopath.

If I remember right her name was Freeman prior to marriage. I can’t remember where I got that from and it may not be right.

Most of us who lived in Alaska for a long time are very good people. Those who come and go just don’t have what it takes to survive up there. When we moved in 1980 Michigan’s economy was failing. General Motors was moving jobs out and unemployment was high. We saw the writing on the wall. We were going up to find work and stay for 2 years. 35 years later I left for health reasons with 5 suitcases and 5 dogs. I have family and a homestead up there and return every summer to slowly sell what is left. But it was the best smartest decision I ever made. My kids turned out well and work hard. And I’m happily retired. My only regret is a bad back. .
