No one was saying so I asked.

I should note, I asked this after she said they had moved onto the second witness of the day.

Tires from Worley's red pickup truck did not match the casts taken from the scene, tires from his green truck *may have* created the cast impressions, though not those tires exclusively, Davison said. #WorleyTrial

This does not necessarily surprise or discourage me. How unique are tires anyways? I buy my tires at a local tire shop....and I'm sure they are the standard Michelin tires for vehicles my size. That piece being inconclusive...I don't think that worries me so long as there is DNA evidence that places him there.

I'm still wondering how they found 12 jurors in Fulton County that have not been subjected to the news related to this trial.

Yeah, I think it would depend on how much tread is worn off and the weight of the vehicle, terrain traveled, etc.

It's not about finding a Juror who has not heard of the Trial. It's whether a Juror can put aside what they may have heard and base a decision solely on evidence presented.

With prosecution resting tomorrow..iirc.. and the news reports saying court dark on Thursday, the judge has said probably go to deliberation on Monday, I don't think they are going to have enough time for an ADDI defense.

Thank goodness.

The CIC has a light at the end of the tunnel. For those in the know, does the sentencing phase follow directly in the state, or is it a few weeks wait? I think I read before it follows immediately.

ETA..ADDI= another dude did it

Coroner testified this morning in #WorleyTrial, reiterated Sierah died from asphyxiation caused by obstruction placed in mouth, previously ID'd as a yellow ball gag. She also had a hairline fracture in the back of her head & laceration on right upper forehead.

Finger print analysis of helmet did not exclude defendant but did not positively ID either. Tire impressions from abduction site match tires on one of Worley's trucks but expert admitted impressions were not exclusive to those tires. #WorleyTrial

Finger prints also found on helmet not positively ID'd to Sierah, but could not be excluded as here either. In both cases, simply not enough to say definitively who they belonged to #worleytrial

The People vs. James Worley: coroner tells the jury Sierah Jougin’s cause of death was asphyxia after a ball gag did not allow her to breath. The jury also learned Jougin was not sexually assaulted @WTOL11Toledo

Not sexually assaulted. Phew.

I'm still wondering how they found 12 jurors in Fulton County that have not been subjected to the news related to this trial.

I think it was more that they found jurors who said they could be objective and judge the case on the evidence presented. I was picked for a major jury trial here in Pittsburgh a few years back where all 200 prospective jurors had either heard or read of the case when the incident actually happened two years earlier. The Defense Team had no problem approving jurors from that pool.

My spouse was one of the original 200 picked. They questioned everyone on what they knew, could they only focus on the evidence presented to them during the trial, and how they felt about the death penalty.

Every time I have heard this it just breaks my heart so badly. Most people can breathe through their nose, if they can't through their mouth, unless they are crying and have mucus and cannot breathe through their nose. Or unless they were hog-tied and put in an underground freezer & could not breathe at all.

:rose: :rose:

I think the jurors will understand it all. And even with 17 charges, I would think it would take only a few hours and there will be no overnight sequestration for the verdict, unless the defense specifically times it at the end of the day it goes to the jury. That would really make me even more angry.

Agreed, DNA evidence is going to make this a quick verdict IMO.

Agree. I think we will see a longer deliberation at sentencing phase. Typically a lot of paper work and much more to deliberate on. Aggravators vs.mitigating factors

Note to self. If like this or Zahau trial ongoing, and bound, scratch a welt with one fingernail on my own body of initials of perp or message.

I mostly agree with this. However, I found a horribly graphic description of how death occurs from a gag, due to blood or mucous. it is too graphic to post:

I truly believe if I was picked for jury duty, I could absolutely be impartial in many cases. Just not in this case for MANY reasons.

The fact that I have teenage children is #1-I tend to put myself in the mother’s shoes, the crime happened on the same road I live on within 10 miles-so it being “to close to home” and knowing he had been accused and convicted on similar charges in the past.

My Aunt (she’s much older and in a completely different place in her life) was in the group of the last 15 prospective jurors who were dismissed on that Monday. She wasn’t as familiar with the case as I and as much as she didn’t really want to be subjected to the details of the case, felt as if she could be impartial and decide the case based on witness testimony, facts and evidence presented at trial. I believe she was relieved she was not picked and I was also.

What the court is asking these jurors to be subjected to and decide is an incredible burden I’m sure none will forget for the rest of their lives. I think of and pray for them daily.

Just some of my thoughts on this topic.
