Finger print analysis of helmet did not exclude defendant but did not positively ID either. Tire impressions from abduction site match tires on one of Worley's trucks but expert admitted impressions were not exclusive to those tires. #WorleyTrial

Brian Koeller@nwseditor·3s
Finger prints also found on helmet not positively ID'd to Sierah, but could not be excluded as here either. In both cases, simply not enough to say definitively who they belonged to #worleytrial

He admitted the helmet IS his and that he WAS in possession of it that evening. It had her blood all over it. Who cares who’s finger prints were on it?!

Well I'm headed out. Hope someone can pick up tweets if ever they appear :-)

Agree. I think we will see a longer deliberation at sentencing phase. Typically a lot of paper work and much more to deliberate on. Aggravators vs.mitigating factors

When we will find out who decides sentencing... a jury or judge. Doesn’t the defendant have the choice?

Do you guys think JW will take the stand? It was mentioned that he might in one of the articles. I didn’t know if that was speculation or if that was stated somewhere in a doc or by his defense attorneys?

Note to self. If like this or Zahau trial ongoing, and bound, scratch a welt with one fingernail on my own body of initials of perp or message.

MamaP, I agree.with you we must remain impartial until.all the evidence is presented. As citizens we need to help those victims or their family seek justice. I truly believe it is our duty. I woke up this morning thinking of today and the difficulty for everyone but knowing that with our court system these criminals will never be stopped. I do hope that once this trial is over that the prosecution team will continue on with other unsolved cases. These victims and their families deserve this noatyer how long ago the crime took place. I will never forget waking up that morning and hearing the disappearance of SJ on the news and seeing her face. I did sign up to search a few days later knowing that serving had gone terribly wrong and close and friends and family needed the help of everyone. As for the jurors, they are truly taking on a tough task but feel they have been hand selected and will find justice. Thank you for your coverage on this case.

No I don't think killer will take the stand. It's rare. Prosecution would rip him to shreds. Not that I would mind that. Jury will decide sentence. Not sure how Ohio handles such if Jury is hung I don't know if it would be automatic life or another Jury seated as we saw in an AZ Trial. I think he knows and certainly his Defense team that he will be found Guilty. It will be simply a fight for his pathetic life. IMO

I am certain the defense would try to twist this to mean it couldn’t possibly have been JW if the helmet had no prints of his. Better to bring it out now, than for them to try to surprise the jury later.

apparently the jury decides sentencing in Ohio:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_Ohio
When the prosecution seeks the death penalty, the sentence is decided by the jury and must be unanimous.
In case of a hung jury during the penalty phase of the trial, a life sentence is issued, even if a single juror opposed death (there is no retrial).[SUP][1]

I doubt he will take the stand, but I would sure like it.

I think dixiegirl was saying if she ever becomes the victim, she would want to scratch a message on herself, or the perp’s initials. She will clarify if I am wrong.

We’re done for today.

Brian Koeller@nwseditor·3m

The last witness for today was the Fulton County Sheriff officer in charge of the investigation. He reviewed evidence - including restraints, ball gag and latex gloves found in a crate on defendants property. #WorleyTrial

Today’s testimony primarily reiterated what we’ve already heard about Sierah’s autopsy, and LE visits to the Worley property and barn. #WorleyTrial Will resume at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow

So from this I take it the defense is going to do their case in one day? Closing on Monday. Not like they said before - Defense starts Friday, and will continue thru the week to 3/26. Jurors start deliberating April 2nd?

Just want a clarification! :)

Also reviewed some of the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 videos found on defendants computer. Said many depicted females bound, gagged often rough sex. Under cross, admitted this is a genre of X-rated videos and there are videos for all sorts of interests.

Following testimony by Maj. Matt Smithmyer of the Fulton Co. Sheriff’s Office, testimony is done for the day. I’ll have an updated story this afternoon. #WorleyTrial

3/20/2018 http://www.toledoblade.com/Courts/2...-trial-enters-second-week-Sierah-Joughin.html

— jurors heard about injuries found on 20-year-old Sierah Joughin's body and tire track evidence recovered from the alleged abduction scene.

— Lucas County Deputy Coroner Dr. Cynthia Beisser: autopsy findings. Closest estimate of time of death she could give was ( official time of death is 9 p.m. July 22) when the Fulton County Coroner's Office declared her dead

— described I juries to her left leg and front and back of her head. The yellow gag that had blocked airways from her nose and mouth, depriving the brain of oxygen in a matter of minutes.

— next witness, Daniel Davison, forensic scientist with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. casts of tire tracks collected at the alleged abduction scene had the same tread design and size as two tires on a green Dodge truck taken from the Worley residence, and therefore "could have" made the impressions at the scene. The other two tires on the green truck did not match, Mr. Davison said, nor did any of the tires on Worley's red pick-up.

—Prosecutors will rest oWednesday morning after one last witness testifies.
—No testimony Thursday.
— defense will present its case Friday.
— After closing arguments, the jury is expected to begin deliberating Monday, March 26.

Thank God....but that girl fought...and she would've been had she not been able to fight him so hard!

If he didn't rape her my guess is that she died before he intended.

Sorry to be graphic.. but another trial We are following right now has to do with what is under her fingernails. It also has the photographs of autopsy. If somebody does something as far as making welts on their body, it would show up on the autopsy. I'm sorry to be so graphic.

I was just saying if it was me, knowing what I know now, I would scratch myself and make a message for somebody if my body was found.

My heart goes out to RG if indeed she testifies tomorrow that we expect.

I have so many words, but I'm speechless for her.

:grouphug: RG if you indeed are testifying

May we all wrap our arms around you in facing tomorrow.

Such strength she may have to testify.

I have heard years ago she did not want to...and I hope she has family and friends surrounding her for this testimony and testament.
