About the career. There is a lack of doctors, including qualified surgeons, now. So, even two lawsuits are not the end of someone’s career. (Source: a friend who worked in a highly paid and equally high-risk field. He had two serious lawsuits one after another. His malpractice insurance went drastically up, so high that he decided to get into locum tenens for a while. After several years, he joined another practice and ultimately, did fine. Of course it was a hard time, but he never complained. If anything, he explained the problems (malpractice insurance), why was it better to go the locums route, what he expected to happen.) In fact, there are few high risks medical fields, including surgery in general. A couple of lawsuits, especially explained by “genuine mistakes”, do not necessarily ruin everything for doctors.
I’d rather suspect that McKee was falling apart and viewed the lawsuit as “the end of the road”. Maybe he managed to ruin professional relationships with his colleagues, too.
It was very well done and professional. Do you think whoever posted it did the video themselves? It doesn’t look like a business. It was overly emotional imo.But your wedding video doesn’t have to be. In fact, most people’s wedding videos aren’t.
They had their social media private so at least that stuff would have been inaccessible to him unless he created a fake account.
Exactly. That's how most people would approach setbacks. You keep plugging away. It's HARD but it's not the end of the world to have to struggle, pivot, try again. It's so strange that he purchased a new home and then less than 6 months later decided to risk losing everything. Dude could have just kept trying to date women, kept studying hard for the Boards (if that was even actually an issue), kept trying, and maybe in a few years his life would have looked much different.
Most physicians have been bought out by large medical groups. You don’t see private practices anymore.Agreed about his career. He is in an in-demand specialty. Changing jobs can be because another practice pursued and offered more money, preferred location…family experience with that.
Malpractice paid by employer. Lawsuits in certain high risk specialties and in a sue-everybody era is viewed differently from different perspectives. We had a Dr friend who stopped to offer words of assurance to a woman he knew awaiting surgery, had zero to do with procedure and was briefly cited in her malpractice case.
I’m still curious about the information that seemed to indicate he was opening a Columbus office. IIRC that didn’t look like a practice he was joining…but a solo practice…but I could be mistaken. Was he trying to move close to her? I wonder if she and/or her family heard about this from mutual friends.
Still stumped on how he got in and out of that house past the security like a Ninja. It certainly was a high risk operation for an Ex with a gun to be caught in any stage of this situation. Would ruin his career without any revenge success.

I was thinking about that earlier too. On the entry level there’s likely enough ambient light to move around and find your way upstairs quickly. Once up there is anyone’s guess, but when my children were that age we’d leave a small hallway light on so that it wasn’t pitch black when we’d have to walk to their room to pop in a pacifier or rock them back to sleep. Bedroom maybe they slept with the TV on or had a nightlight.I thought about the need for MM to have some sort of a light to see S and M. I get up a few times during the night and even though we have motion sensor nightlights, I still have to take my time getting back to my bed while my eyes adjust to the darkness. I think they heard noises and woke up. Maybe he was in their doorway by then? No way could he have been in total darkness the entire time. Maybe a flashlight or headlamp or as used.
We should know more when the autopsy reports come out?Like I said I think he killed ST first, and then had his time with Monique. That was his moment to tell her he “won” the sick game he has been playing in his head since they got divorced. That was his time to tell her he got the last word. Forever. She would have been thinking about the kids. I can’t imagine the fear. That poor woman.
Yes I know-but do you know if he took the video? Maybe he has sent people there to look at his work for business purposes? Not sure why it was public that is.The brother-in-law did the video and posted it

A good friend of mine had their contract renewed and her salary cut in half. After being bought out by this group 10 years ago. From 300K to 150K. She left, is almost at retirement age and not quite ready to retire looking for another position elsewhere. General surgery.
They are probably looking for a young Dr at cheaper salary.
They aren’t paying more—-they cut the salary in half- unless you mean that they were forced out and the next Dr will get over 300K? They had a very busy practice-mostly hernia repair, bariatric surgery, etc. Just think they are looking to cut costs.A general surgeon who trained many years ago is different from a fellowship trained vascular surgeon just out of specialized training. My guess is that in such situations they are often looking for a Dr with the most updated training, and they will pay MORE to get one.
Medicine changes so quickly. A salary cut like that in surgery is almost a force out. It’s a heartbreaking but cold fact these days.
I recently attended a fund-raising presentation by the CEO of one of our local hospitals. He brought two surgeons with him who spoke at length about all the new robotic surgery equipment this hospital has invested in…and their advanced expertise they possessed to use it. It’s a changed world!
You are right…there are many large medical groups and buyouts are frequent. My experience is with someone in a high demand specialty with a prestige fellowship. There are still many small private practices in that specialty and just this year, two in pursuit.
That’s why I tend to look at MM as being in somewhat of a similar situation. But I admit, we don’t have his full picture yet.
Yes. Pay more for the new one with newest training. They aren’t paying more—-they cut the salary in half- unless you mean that they were forced out and the next Dr will get over 300K?
As the case goes along I’ll be curious to see how quickly they were able to place the ex in the area. Just by being an ex husband he had to be suspect #1 from the jump.
Murders take place Tuesday December 30, POI alley video is released exactly a week later. I haven’t seen any confirmation that the person seen in the alley is MM. Is it possible they released this very grainy, impossible to identify person knowing it is NOT the ex just to keep him at bay (“Hell, that isn’t even me, they’ve got nothing”) and less of a threat to himself/others while they collect everything needed to make a warrant stick? If they’re tracking him by that point and just need to locate him, I would think they wouldn’t want an identifiable video of him out there.
The newer construction in Columbus that I have seen all have deadbolts as standard. I think most people make sure the deadbolts are locked at night before they go to bed even if they do not have an alarm system.I have been wondering, did this house not have deadbolts apart/separate from the keypad type lock? When I’m home my deadbolts are what I make sure to lock.
