OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

weird because he should have info with he Boards (Illinois? another state?) he is currently licensed by
This is why I'm having such a hard time believing he was hard to find. A practicing physician can't just disappear. You are supposed to update an address or name change within 30 days, or you can be sanctioned by the board. His DEA number would require an address change as well, but only after you have an approved state license. There is also the matter of credentialing by the facility.

Sorry I wasn't clearer.... I was asking about the bolded underlined part. What does "A suggestion of death" mean?

I was wondering if the lawyer suggested it as a possibility since no one could seem to find him and serve him papers.

I don't see how that can be verified. HIPPA exists for a reason.
Very true, but a doctor must answer questions about his competency to perform the duties he is applying for at the hospital. One question is "Do you use any chemical substances that would in any way impair or limit your ability to practice
medicine and perform the functions of your job with reasonable skill and safety?" If he was on any medication that impaired his ability he must disclose it or be subject to losing his license for falsifying his application.

Health care providers are asked these questions with every license renewal.

thanks for that
I'm wondering what medicines would impair/limit his ability to practice since isn't the purpose of medicine to improve life functions ...

This, to me, is emblematic of the problem.

What MM is SUPPOSED to do, versus what MM CHOSE to do.

There appears to be quite the discrepancy.

SHOULD file papers to update info.

SHOULD give true info and not false info.

SHOULD let his ex-wife live in peace.

In every area he chose what he COULD do, not what he should.

I only see one malpractice case- he was on a review board with the state Corrections Dept. if you read the paperwork posted, the plaintiff was /is an inmate. In the paperwork, the inmate lost his initial attorney and then was not providing discovery so there were a lot of delays and it was not going forward. On its face, that does not sound like a law suit that a dr would lose sleep over IMO.
There’s a second lawsuit. In this one, he’s alleged to have provided insufficient training/supervision. A patient was left needing an emergency follow-up operation.

The first lawsuit was trivial, and MM’s connection to it was just that he was on the supervisory board for the prison where the innate (the plaintiff) was housed. The second one sounds more significant.

Edit: details further up the thread, including a PDF of the complaint, the lawsuit and the difficulty in finding McKee. His former colleagues said he vanished and his Las Vegas practice didn’t have a valid address for him. (They had an address but it wasn’t a valid location.)

Well, I would hope my surgeon isn't toking a fatty, snorting a line of coke, or drinking a 40 before work. I would also hope that if they are prescribed opiates, benzos, or other medications that impair, they refrain from consuming them before performing a surgical procedure.

In all seriousness, that question on licensure renewal is more about illicit drug and alcohol use.

what profile and can you link it please?
It was on Facebook and I would not know how to find it. It was a compilation of photos and was posted as his dating profile. People have been talking about that yoga for a couple of days. I wish I could find it now. I tried. Because it has been discussed I assumed it was legit.

I think some of the confusion about where MM was recently living/where he was working/where his guns were may be due to some reporters using "Chicago" as if Rockford is just a Chicago suburb, ie oversimplification. Where I live, a few streets away from the actual Chicago boundary line, is a Chicago suburb--but Rockford is about 90 miles east of Chicago and a 90 minute drive(depending on time of day). So, I feel like there are more than a few reporters who are unfamiliar with Rockford/Illinois who assume it is just a suburb.

But some of the confusion also comes from him being arrested in Rockford, working at a medical practice/center/hospital in Rockford, but owning a fairly recently purchased condo in Chicago. Was he commuting daily with a round trip of 3 hours? Was he only coming in person to Rockford for surgeries a few days a week and handling other office business via Zoom from Chicago? Or did he rent an studio apartment out there where he stayed some of the time?

At this point so much of the reporting that is being done, even from Chicago outlets, is just basing itself off of the initial reporting (which was inaccurate in some ways), so it's hard to feel confident in the accuracy of location details in current articles.
according to his neighbor he was renting the condo.

My point is that they REALLY know where he is now. He's in JAIL, and they're gonna know which one.

I wondered if he really "vanished" or if they just did not feel the need to help the process sever. You would think that the lawyer could find his licensing information in IL. ?

yes... wonder how that all works when he is in jail... accessing him for discovery; accessing his assets. Seems to solve one problem and create others.

When I read what the attorney said about not being able to find MM, I laughed. Not sure if the attorney or process server is that lame. But I'm 100% confident, we here at WS could have found and served him very quickly.

Perhaps we should put out a banner and try druming up some business? Potential slogans - "Because 'ignoring it' isn't a legal strategy", "Helping you face the music, whether you like the tune or not", "Knock, knock. It's the consequences of your actions."

I happened to see it as well, a picture of his dating profile for a dating site. It had to be on this thread. That's it. On this thread earlier on, probably today. IMO

According to this article, the attorney has known he was licensed, practicing, and living in Illinois since November. No, Sir, he didn't just disappear. He's been licensed in Illinois since 2024. 'He just disappeared:' Nevada lawyer tried to track doctor months before Tepe murders
