There is a ton of talking/socializing when you are on a sports team. You talk in the locker room, on the bench, and on the playing surface, along with attending events together as you mention. Sports is a great way to socialize and build long-lasting relationships. Your teammates are some of the closest people in your life.
Absolutely agree as a parent and a coach. Especially these days when you have a young generation addicted to screens and facetiming while playing hours of roblox and minecraft is viewed by them as" socializing". Touch grass as they say, fr fr.

In Ohio, you can go to each county and view legal records, criminal and civil. These are public records.

You enter a name and then a list of legal events, charges, etc pop up for that name.
He could search his own name, and the divorce would show up.
He could also search any name he wants.

I just went to the Franklin Co website and there are a number of legal events for MM going back to 2016 including the divorce. There is one proceeding going back to 2016 which is still labeled ACTIVE. It is possible that he was going in to look at that case, and also look at the divorce.

Yes if he noticed a change in the old divorce, it is possible he assumed the Tepes or the court had done something against him.
Yes, why not.?
Just because they weren’t sent a notice that we know of or can confirm one way or another (so far) doesn’t mean he couldnt have found out another way,
We have a lot of privacy stuff in Canada, but once there is court action or the case is closed, I can search it on a site. Many people settle out of court so their name doesn’t appear in that database.

OK but this is a guy who's already hiding from the lawyers.

Chances are, he never called the court to ask.

Did the court notify him that it was in error?

Because if not, it is where the problem may be.
Yes, all he had to do was pick up the phone and they would have told him it was a clerical error. MOO

I wondered this too and wondered if he somehow was notified of her address at this time. Possibility that he was unaware of exactly where she lived until the court paper work was sent out? They would have no reason to hide the address if there wasn’t a “true” no contact order in the case.
In Franklin County, Ohio the records are public and he can go online and see the divorce records at any time.

Another speculation I had……what if he was dating again. Is it possible the new girlfriend began to see signs that worried her in the relationship? Maybe she knew about his previous marriage and that it ended quickly/mysteriously. Things may have not added up in his story and she needed answers? Then new gf possibly reached out to Monique to inquire about her suspicions which then were confirmed by Monique?

After being warned, maybe she ended the relationship with MM? This angered MM and in addition to anger from the divorce years back, this added more fuel to his motivations? Just pure speculation but I could totally see this happening realistically.

Ahh well if he was some how notified of action in the case due to the error, possibly then saw the change of address?

I dont recall what address was listed for her? Or if one was listed?
I didnt really want to pursue that because I would hate for any person who may have made the clerical error to feel like they had any part. You know how the internet can be.
Im hoping if it was an error, it was some software automatic glitchy thing.

Do you all think he planned on getting away with this? Or was this end game for him, knew this was going to be the outcome but didn’t care as his life was in ruins anyway and he had given up?

I don't know if he would be notified in the event of a paperwork snafu. But I know that in Franklin Co things like are sometimes automated. So even if a mistake is made on the part of the county, a computer sends out a nastygram letter to people who then have to call to get it sorted out.

He could also just go online and check on his legal issues in Ohio, or review the divorce details as part of his obsessional ideation.

All this is very true but it would have put Monique on his emotional radar again. Maybe he started looking up her socials and it became a snowball of seething. I mean we're not dealing with a guy who seems to handle these things normally.

I do not think he was operating clearly with a plan despite keeping it together enough to carry out a convoluted plan, if that makes sense. The fact that a surgeon would have kept the murder weapon (no attempt to get rid of it or cover up any connections) at his home and used his own car with license plates alone tells me he really didn't care that much.

I think we may find out there may have been substance abuse or escalating mental issue fueling this incident.

Yes but you are describing rational, sensible, adult behavior. Someone who doesn't make a mountain out of a molehill. Who can cope with life in a responsible way, checks out things first before he acts.

If he is paranoid, he could assume the clerk was lying to him and working for his ex.

Playing sports is not that much socializing
Unless they have some events they attend together as a team
What i mean by socializing is "talking"
Perhaps even "speech therapy" to develop pragmatic speech
Tell me you never played sports without telling me you never played sports lol

"A preliminary ballistic match linking a gun recovered from Michael McKee’s Illinois property to the scene of a double homicide of an Ohio dentist and his wife marks a "big problem for him and his defense team," according to legal experts."

"An Ohio grand jury formally indicted a Chicago man for the murder of his ex-wife and her new husband in their Columbus home in December."

Anyone think there’s a chance MM might want a plea deal?

If you pick up a gun, point it at a person (it's brandishing at that point technically) and then shoot them you have committed "brandishing" within the act of shooting. Yes, that's a technicality but they want as many charges to help with the mandatory prison time and leverage for the prosecutor. And I believe in OH it adds more mandatory time in the execution of another crime so they want that as well.

I think so, too.

You’d have to hoist the gun and point it at them in order to shoot, so “brandishing” would be automatic within that action.

I hope they do apply every conceivable charge that could pertain, lest he somehow be found not guilty of murder (I can’t imagine that, though) and at least he’d be locked up on a lesser charge, hopefully.

Hitting 40 is a milestone for a man.
I think he gave up and was tired. A high achiever since childhood, between his personal and work life…he was at the end of his rope. Whatever he thought was possible became impossible.
He had a psychotic break. What contributed? Mental illness, extreme jealousy, psych drugs… all of the above-we will find out. Life just isn’t fair to the innocent when evil prevails.
He could have chosen to take his own life-but he didn’t.
He took 4 innocent lives. 2 died, two will suffer for a long time-maybe always.

Not “these” sports, lol. Luckily. Tennis, table tennis and swimming. But, in Europe, American football is not a “thing” and rugby always had bad reputation because of it being traumatic. In fact, anywhere in the world, if you want to make a “small talk”, you’d follow soccer. And there is less of the “jock culture” and more of the gyms where young men “pump up”. Table tennis is simply everywhere. In my childhood, if you wanted to be a popular girl, parents would send you to gymnastics, ballet or skating…something graceful. But that was definitely not for me.

The main thing - I was the first one to define him as “athletic”. But did it help him in life? I am not sure that he had TBI, but he didn’t make much of football in life, did he? Pragmatic speech for a doctor is important, though.
