Not “these” sports, lol. Tennis, table tennis and swimming. But, in Europe, American football is neither played nor popular. In fact, anywhere in the world, if you want to make a “small talk”, you’d follow soccer. And there is less of the “jock culture” and more of the gyms where young men “pump up”. Table tennis is simply everywhere. In my childhood, if you wanted to be a popular girl, parents would send you to gymnastics, ballet or skating…something graceful. But that was definitely not for me.
Team sports are popular in Europe (I am a first gen transplant, European family) and very social. Youth sports are great social development both in the US and abroad. And we are talking about participation and interaction. Two popular youth sports in the US (Soccer and Basketball) are huge in Europe.

Team sports popular throughout Europe: Football (soccer), Volleyball, European Handball, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Rugby etc..

but I digress...

"A preliminary ballistic match linking a gun recovered from Michael McKee’s Illinois property to the scene of a double homicide of an Ohio dentist and his wife marks a "big problem for him and his defense team," according to legal experts."

"An Ohio grand jury formally indicted a Chicago man for the murder of his ex-wife and her new husband in their Columbus home in December."

JMO
He apparently had the murder weapon laying there in his house along with his other guns. Suppressor not legal in IL (see below) but very legal in OH. That he had possession of his car was probable cause in the arrest warrant. He didn't even try to get rid of these things.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
McKee also was charged with aggravated burglary. Two of the aggravated murder charges are related to the burglary charge. The other two aggravated murder charges are for prior calculation and design.

All the counts include a 3-year firearm specification for using a gun to commit aggravated murder and a 6-year firearm specification for using a firearm suppressor.

On the WSYX-TV 6:00 PM newscast tonight, WSYX-TV in Columbus is reporting now that since MM has been indicted by the Franklin County Grand Jury, it will be deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff Office that will be picking MM up in Illinois on a Franklin County warrant and bringing him back to Ohio.

WSYX-TV also reported that the Franklin County Sheriff Office did not say when MM will be extradited back to Ohio.

Hitting 40 is a milestone for a man.
I think he gave up and was tired. A high achiever since childhood, between his personal and work life…he was at the end of his rope. Whatever he thought was possible became impossible.
He had a psychotic break. What contributed? Mental illness, extreme jealousy, psych drugs… all of the above-we will find out. Life just isn’t fair to the innocent when evil prevails.
He could have chosen to take his own life-but he didn’t.
He took 4 innocent lives. 2 died, two will suffer for a long time-maybe always.

Either he needs to hyperfocus to achieve so it could not be “working and dating”, for example. Or, he could function either in a small town where people knew each other and later, the college in the same state (with the same culture he grew up in!). Then, with changes of abodes due to his residency and job, “not fitting in” became a bigger issue.

Do we truly know that he was on psych drugs? I am not so sure…

He was a “split achiever”. High academic and low social. With life, social part becomes important. There are tons of places besides dating, such as meetups or theme groups. He could attend evenings to practice his Spanish, for example. But I think he expected life to come to him,

Controlling' Doctor Saw Ex-Wife in Love with Dentist and It 'Destroyed His Fragile Little Ego': Friend (Exclusive)

A person who knew Michael McKee and Monique Tepe tells PEOPLE that McKee struggled to move on after his divorce

A friend of Monique Tepe and Michael McKee tells PEOPLE that McKee closely followed his ex-wife's life from a distance by asking mutual friends for updates

"He thought she could not live without him.
That she needed him. So for her to thrive [in her new marriage], that just destroyed his fragile little ego," the friend says of McKee

The friend says Monique and McKee were very much in love, but that he could also be "manipulative " and good at "bending things to his will"

McKee would ask around about Monique whenever he saw a mutual acquaintance, says the friend, who then addressed the rumors of McKee stalking Monique prior to the murders.

"I’ll say that we’ve been talking about it, but none of us ever actually saw any evidence of this," the friend says, adding that Monique also never mentioned anything about McKee.

Like I said before, the prosecutor is throwing the book at this guy and rightly so. I think we are going to see the DP.
I hope they do. Only problem is Ohio has not executed anyone since 2018. If anyone deserves it, it’s him

Here's the thing about death penalty cases in Franklin County.

To the best of my memory, the last time a person convicted of aggravated murder and received the death penalty from a Franklin County Common Pleas Court jury was about 15 to 20 years ago.

And during the last decade, I recall two separate high profile aggravated murder cases where a police officer was killed in the line of duty. Even though the Franklin County Prosecutor asked for the death penalty, the jury opted for a sentence of life without parole instead.

So yes a Franklin County Prosecutor can ask for the death penalty in an aggravated murder case. But a Franklin County jury rarely gives out the death penalty for those convicted of aggravated murder.

On Nancy Grace's show (on YT right now) they mentioned MM was arrested at a Chick-fil-a ... I didn't know that. I thought it was near his office building. Does anyone else have any other information on this by chance?

Nevermind. I found it. The Chick-fil-a was near his workplace...sorry. Now I understand.
Moo; moo.

Not “these” sports, lol. Luckily. Tennis, table tennis and swimming. But, in Europe, American football is not a “thing” and rugby always had bad reputation because of it being traumatic.

The main thing - I was the first one to define him as “athletic”. But did it help him in life? I am not sure that he had TBI, but he didn’t make much of football in life, did he? Pragmatic speech for a doctor is important, though.
I hear ya. I only brought it up because to me it illustrates just how screwed up he is. At one point he was an athletic, good looking, doctor to be. He had a good head start in life. On paper, he was setup to have a great life.

It was mentioned on one of the Columbus TV stations that he was arrested by Federal ATF agents at a Chick-fil-a in Rockford minutes after his arrest warrant was filed last weekend.

They didn't say if he was arrested inside or outside of Chick-fil-a.

All this is very true but it would have put Monique on his emotional radar again. Maybe he started looking up her socials and it became a snowball of seething. I mean we're not dealing with a guy who seems to handle these things normally.
per Nancy Grace her socials were all private. That makes sense.

The wedding video that shows the interior of their home, their current friends, their happy ceremony was public on YT and still is. The brother in law that filmed it put it up 4 years ago. It even has a birdseye drone shot of the layout of the alley, street, house. There are other things that could be found if you knew her name, area, details etc. Enough to see a glimpse of her current life, people around her and house outside and in. We all found this quickly. An unstable ex with more details, and names of some of her friends, etc. could find a decent amount.

edit: I get this was a pandemic era private ceremony but I am very into PERSEC and was very surprised at how much people put out there, seeing this wedding video.

1. Franklin County Ohio juries have given out the DP:
  • Kristofer Garrett (2019): A jury recommended death for the murders of Nicole Duckson and their 4-year-old daughter, Kristina, a sentence upheld by the Supreme Court of Ohio.
  • Caron E. Montgomery (2012): Sentenced to death for killing his former partner and her two children.
2. The threat of DP could be a negotiating tool by the prosecutor to steer MM to a plea deal of life in prison w/o parole.

3. Even though there has been a halt to executions in Ohio due to problems obtaining the lethal injections, the killer sits on death row in a prison in Ohio well known to have "challenges" in terms of conditions there.

I am glad to hear this. The killer committed the crime in Columbus and Franklin County. LE from the city or county should go collect him and bring him to justice. Not some anonymous third party transportation service.

This might be the reason the Grand Jury was called so quickly? Deputies wanted to take care of this piece of the process.
