Actually, I luv the creativity of the masks. May even order one myself.. Where was the ms media for over four months? They were not hiding behind masks, but were hiding under their desks, due to the fear of intimidation, imo.
The perceived corruption in the Steubenville, Ohio Justice system is analogous to that of the Bolingbrook, IL PD, that allowed Drew Peterson to prey on innocent victims for decades, imo..
Where would the justice for Kathleen Savio, and Stacy Peterson be without transparency and sunshine?
"Silence is the predators most lethal weapon"..
Anonymous, should be saluted for shining the light on this tragedy, imo"...

Drew Peterson: Untouchable - Trailer - YouTube

:goodpost:

A line from my favorite move "The Usual Suspects" seems appropriate here;

Verbal Kint: ...The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....

Oh I am a little skeptical of Anonymous and their motivations. FWIW. I dont believe they are always Robin Hood:

LINK HERE

There was very little palatable justification for this ivho.

The story of Anonymous is complex. I'm relating this due to stuff I've read so take the accuracy as possibly a little off. Anonymous started as a group of people on 4chan who thought it was funny to go websites and post the most offensive things relaated to that site. Just things to tick people off. Some of them went so far as to post a video that would cause seizures on a site for epileptics.

Then some of them decided that they should use their hacking skills for good instead and they splintered off. They hacked a scientology website and found the infamous video of Tom Cruise's wackadoodle scientology video and posted it to Youtube. Since then that branch has agitated scientology to the point of extreme anger.

Now a lot of groups not affiliated with the original 4chan group have co-opted the Anonymous name. So now Anonymous isn't one group. It's a series of groups that may or may not be connected. It's basically a name for hackers who are trying to do good will use. The Guy Fawkes masks and the same computer voice are used by most groups calling themselves Anonymous.

I also find it fascinating that MSM is jumping off of their posted information, but that is nothing new these days. There are poorly sourced stories everywhere and the false information is spread far and wide as fact because no one is bothering to fact check.

As for the statements attributed to Anonymous' atty about possible defamation suits..I suspect he is including first ammendment rights, not just that they have "facts" to base their assertions on.

jmvho.

BBM

First amendment rights only go so far. For instance, I cannot publish an article saying that John Doe is a child molester without factual proof. Like a conviction in court or some other undisputed fact.

Anonymous has to have undisputed factual evidence of their charges or they can be sued for defamation of character. If any of the other accusations against anyone named on the site aren't true, then they can sue anonymous for defamation of character and get some sort of relief. Either financial or a court ordered retraction or both.

What, I believe, their lawyer means is that Anonymous has backed up their accusations very well and anyone who might try to sue them would have an uphill battle to prove them wrong. JMO

It seems no one was particularly interested in the new article I linked to last night. Oh well.

Here is another new article that I think people really should read:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-claims-assault-revenge-slighted-girl-16.html

"EXCLUSIVE: High school footballer star apologizes for posting sickening picture of Ohio rape victim - but denies claims assault was revenge for being slighted by girl, 16
- Big Red Football star player, C--- S-------, 17, publicly said he regrets posting Instagram image that has come to define the case
- Steubenville High School student was present at earlier parties on night alleged rape took place and also called her ‘sloppy’
- Parents fought legal battle against claims made on internet that he wanted revenge and that he sent a message to victim's father calling her a '🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬'
- Mother says he is an 'awesome kid'

Much, much more...

Like this?
"Court records from the probable cause hearing show that an image of the alleged victim was retrieved from her mother’s cellphone."

or this?
"Asked by Mail Online whether her son sent an image to the victim’s father, S*******’s mother, *****, said only, ‘We are very happy with the legal settlement.’"

In support of the allegations that C*** S******* enlisted his friends in a "revenge" plot against the victim, "On 14 August, the day the alleged crime was reported, T**** M*** tweeted: ‘I’m so mad like I’m gonna get in so much so for doing a favor forreal.’" I wonder what he meant by that...

For anyone interested, here is the document regarding the Ohio Revised Code: Section 3313.13 re: Assistant DA - School Board

Onio Attorney General Official Opinion # 2004-049

http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/...s/48/488217ef-3d84-4663-ac1d-324621da5058.pdf

Its an eight page document that seems pretty clear to me, until the point that it doesn't seem at all clear to me. So, I have no opinion on if Jane Hanlin did or did not violate the code.

And

Here is an article ...

http://www.heraldstaronline.com/pag.../Hanlin-named-county-prosecutor.html?nav=5010

about the appointment of Jane Hanlin to County Prosecutor after Thomas Straus retired.

Hanlin named county prosecutor
March 9, 2011
By MARK LAW, staff writer

"STEUBENVILLE - Jane Hanlin was unanimously appointed Jefferson County prosecutor Tuesday after a meeting of the Jefferson County Democratic Party Central Committee.

Thomas Straus, who was prosecutor since 2004, retired on Feb. 28."

and ...

"Hanlin will serve as county prosecutor through the end of 2012 but will have to run for election next year."

________________________________

So, it seems to me that at least some of the outrage aimed at Jane Hanlin, could possibly have to do with the fact that she and many of the others being railed against, are Democrats and are in leadership positions in the city and county. I don't currently know who besides Jane is up for election this year but it will be interesting to find out.

I have yet to draw any conclusions on whats real or what is true, because I think that each 'anonymous' person, whether they are wearing masks, having rallys, making movies, posting anonymously on websites and claiming not to have a dog in the fight, each one does indeed have a dog in the fight, does have an agenda that is very likely different from their stated agenda. That's just how I currently see it.

OMG. This is the first I have heard of THIS case:
Girl, 15, with low IQ gang-raped under desk during class in Elmont
http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/girl-15-gang-raped-class-suit-article-1.1238721
A mentally challenged 15-year-old student at a school in New York was reportedly gang-raped beneath her desk while class proceeded, according to a lawsuit filed on Friday.
http://www.examiner.com/article/horror-story-15-year-old-girl-with-low-iq-gang-raped-nyc-school

You and I were reading at the same time...I was having a hard time believing, until I read that the teacher was fired.

Umm what is the rest of this story please? That was not happening without the teacher knowing what was occuring, imvho.

No, the article I was referring to that it seemed no one had read was:

EXCLUSIVE: SECOND girl 'was sexually assaulted at prom party attended by Ohio high school footballers - when she was just FOURTEEN'

It supposedly happened in April of last year and was reported in September.

Next. JASON HANLIN - this is just weird and further's the perception of crooked Steubenville

I keep reading about "Jane Hanlin's husband" who works in drug enforcement, and is a detective. So I googled a bit, and found out his name to be JASON HANLIN. Here is what I read, 3rd Google link:

Cash thrown into task force car

Oct. 14, 2011
Harold Star

By Mark Law

"STEUBENVILLE - A man threw $2,000 into the car of a Jefferson County Drug Task Force officer on Wednesday, mistakenly believing he was paying off a gambling debt to a bookie.

"Drug Task Force Detective Jason Hanlin said he was patrolling the downtown area late Wednesday evening and saw another drug task force detective. Hanlin said he pulled up next to the detective's vehicle and noticed a red car drive past with the driver looking into the detectives' vehicles. ...

"Hanlin then said he asked the man why he threw money into his drug task force vehicle.

"I thought you were Little Tony. I owe him a gambling debt. He drives a car like yours," the man replied."

This SMELLS so bad!!! I can't make this **** up!! In all the newspapers I've read in my whole life, I've never heard of a perp throwing $2,000 into a cop car!! And with a small town, if you owed "Little Tony" $2,000, wouldn't you know who his bagman was?

Fishy, fishy, fishy.

Somebody posted a list of facts above. IIRC, she was supposed to quit working with the school board when she became a judge, but just ignored the law and stayed on the board anyway.

And, for the record, it's been YEARS, not just a matter of weeks or months, since this conflict of interest began. It isn't like she can claim to have been "in the process" of resigning her school board position, as if it a "technicality".

Fair enough. I judge information that comes from an anonymous electronic voice behind a weird mask as spam.

Then, for your sake, I hope you are never the recipient of a robo-call informing you to evacuate your home, or to asking you to be on the lookout for an dangerous criminal who escaped and was last spotted in your neighborhood.

I know about that. We discussed this over the past few days here. The quotes I posted are from the link in the post I quoted.

ETA - I double-checked and my quotes were from the linked article. There wasn't anything about the 14 year old in that article at all.

Seems weird: if the girl was urinated on by one or more people, why was TM spooning her on the couch at the end of the night. Ick.

I am trying to find a way of responding without seeming to humiliate the victim further. He was willing to publicly rape a human being while dragging her from party to party. He doesnt seem shy about sharing fluids.

I assume everyone has been tested for anything communicable.

If I woke up with my hair and clothes smelling of urine, and no memory of the previous night, I'd be calling my good friend who talked me into attending the party for a briefing. And (maybe it is just me) if numerous men had been abusing my unconscious body for hours, including anally raping me, I'd probably notice some discomfort south of the equator as well. Did she just not WANT to believe it? Did she believe she had knowingly consumed enough alcohol and/or drugs to have forgotten the evening? Did she think then that it might have been consensual and she had just had a memory "black out"?

This being the 21st century and all, lots of promiscuous teens (and others) use condoms with greater frequency than they would have prior. I figured they had done so in this case because, first of all, the idea of sharing body fluids in this way is NASTY, and because they could not risk leaving DNA evidence, or worse, impregnated her. I'm no expert, but if these guys were NOT using a "barrier" form of contraception, MN would probably not have made the "dry as the sun" comment, and she'd have had yet another indication in the morning that something had happened due to the presence of fluids and odors.

I'm just thinking aloud, more or less. Between the vomit, urine, & other "fluids" she had to smell like holy hell. I got nasty drunk in Cancun (Senõr Frogs, holla!) back in the day, and I
actually remember very little of what I did. Flashes of stuff early on and again as I was coming out of tequila coma. But my husband made me sleep in the other bed.

I am unsure if she WAS urinated on. I know someone was offering to pay people to do it, but have not read an account of anyone accepting the offer.

Let's be careful about turning this around on the victim.
In the Haidl case, Jane Doe had been anally and vaginally raped and she had no idea AT ALL. She had one drink and that is the last she remembers. Not until the tape of the entire event surfaced did she know what happened.
If she didn't know what was going on- she could not have given consent. period.

I would imagine she was scared or humiliated or both.

It would help more if we had the transcript from the hearing.

http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/Ohio_FOIA_procedures#How_to_request_public_records_in_Ohio

Clearly the records can be requested by anyone-but the cost is probably pretty steep.

Maybe someone can request it.
