A jury heard witness testimony on Tuesday in the trial of a man accused of strangling his wife last year.

A southeast Ohio prosecutor said that evidence indicated that Summer Inman, who was found dead in a septic tank, was face-to-face with her killer when she was strangled with a plastic zip tie last year.

Twenty-seven-year-old William Inman II and his parents are charged in the death of his 25-year-old Summer Inman, 10TV's Danielle Elias. Authorities said that she was abducted, strangled and dumped in an underground septic tank behind a church in nearby Athens County.

The first witnesses take the stand in the trial of a southeast Ohio man charged in the slaying of his estranged wife.
The trial for 27-year-old William Inman Jr. started Monday in Hocking County common pleas court in Logan, about 45 miles southeast of Columbus.
The younger Inman; his father, William A. Inman Sr.; and his mother, Sandra K. Inman, all are accused in connection with the March 2011 kidnapping and murder of 25-year-old Summer Inman.

According to the agent, after the evidence was secured, Summer’s body was pulled from the tank by several officers at the scene. She was able to be positively identified by objects in her purse, which still was in place on her arm.

Photographs entered into evidence showed Summer’s wrists had been bound in front of her by three zip ties, two connected to each other and one around both. A zip tie also was around her throat and fastened in the front.

Summer still wore the clothes she had on when she went to work the night of March 22, 2011, Durst said, the night of the kidnapping. Her black T-shirt, which her boyfriend Adam Peters previously testified he had lent her, read, “I don’t have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.”
Both Summer’s clothing and the foot-long zip ties were entered into evidence. Durst, outfitted with rubber gloves, showed the articles to the jury.
Durst said the fluid from the septic tank was drained after Summer’s body was recovered.

"If there was any possible evidence in the tank, we wanted to secure that," Durst said. Law enforcement officers did not ever need to go back to the contents of the tank or the tank itself, Durst continued. The zip ties were tested for latent fingerprints, but none of the state’s witnesses have yet testified as to the outcome of the test.

Durst said DNA testing of the items taken from Summer’s body was not ordered because “a septic tank is not a good environment for DNA; it would degrade very quickly.”

This witness will be haunted by Summer's screams as she was getting tasered.

The jogger said that she also heard the sound of a Taser coming from an alley and a woman screaming for two men to get in a car.

The witness said that she was first tipped off by a man running down the street in what she described as "gangster clothes." She said that she heard screams shortly after the man turned the corner.

"I remember hearing the scream," the witness said. "It was so loud and it was just terrifying, that you thought that somebody was getting murdered."

LOGAN, Ohio - Closing arguments began Monday morning in the capital murder trial of a man accused in his estranged wife's death.

Defense attorneys called no witnesses to the stand, including William Inman II, who was charged in the death of his wife, Summer Inman.

During closing arguments, the state also went into more detail about the couple's marital problems.

"Summer was afraid. She had been in an abusive relationship. She was going to counseling to try and move on with her life. Her marriage was terrible. Summer had dared to challenge the authority of the Inman family by leaving," said Hocking County Prosecutor Bill Archer Jr.
