Oh my gosh...barely been able to even keep up reading due to some unfortunate real life events, when I saw the activity here I spent time catching up. Really sad if this was a bamboozle.

In the off chance there is a Pippi with an Irish last name that was oft mispronounced, the name that came to mind for me was McElroy. The first time I saw it, to my Alabama football loving husbands horror I pronounced it Mick-eL-Roy instead of Mac-ul-Roy.

I've got a Pippa, her full name is Philippa though and she was born before anyone knew who Pippa Middleton was.

I have never met another one but it is going up the popularity charts, but Philippa is staying at around the same position.

I was under the impression that it wasn't used very much in America, and it means rude things in a few European languages.

In my mind, I am going back to 1981. First, I will start with the New Years Eve party that I went to in Germany, hosted by the mail clerk that lived at the top of the stairwell in government housing. They invited everybody that lived in our stairwell. I remember the delicious onion dip that his wife served. No doubt made with Lipton's Onion Soup mix, and I loved it. Nobody at the party dressed like the photo that was presented earlier in the thread. Fast forward to President Reagan being shot. I was now in Kentucky, with my ex husband being on maneuvers as I remember being in this small apartment by myself watching the news about President Reagan and Brady. I think we were only in that apartment for three weeks as we received government housing in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Fort Knox is 200 some miles away from Troy, Ohio. I don't remember at this time of our Doe being on the news, but that could have been the time period we received our household goods. I am wondering f I could search YouTube for WHAS or WAVE tv stations to see if I can find film footage. Maybe it was on their news?
I will have to search my memory for more details of that time period. I don't know if anything will help, but maybe? Who knows?

If we were trolled, that sucks. I was hoping this case had some new life. To the troller, I am not hating on you because everyone has their own sense of humor. I would like to remind you that regardless of what you think about the people involved on this website or those like it, we are real people trying to help people. This nameless girl was someone's daughter, perhaps sister, perhaps aunt, granddaughter, something. Someone loves this girl. Someone's life has a hole in it because this girl disappeared. We are just trying to help those persons so please troll somewhere else. Assuming for the moment that the photo might be valid--I had a few thoughts.

The people in the foreground look older than high school or even college. Is it maybe the teachers and chaperones? An after-work gathering?

The men are all wearing white shirts, their hair is relatively short, and their pants are, well, just pants. If it were the 70's, there should be at least a few striped or colored shirts, the pants would be wide legged or flared, and likely even the most conservative dresser would have sideburns or a bowl cut. Could be a conservative school dress code, or working for a company like IBM where the nerds ruled, however.
The two women in the foreground have dresses that look almost late 60's, but the hair is wrong for the 60's. Wish I could see their shoes. One woman in the background appears to be wearing ballet flats, which were not unheard of in the 70's but were somewhat unusual.

And somebody (either sex) should have been wearing some kind of boot or platform shoe.

It got me wondering about things like a mid-70's high school ten year reunion?

Here's some info about the city where our BSG was found near. Mostly manufacturing, lots of welders. This data is relatively new, but the makeup of a city doesnt change that fast unless some tech firm moves in. Might give us some additional things to think about:

Anyone remember International Harvester? International Harvester had a factory that made trucks in Springfield, Ohio.

And there is a factory in Richmond, Indiana called Wayne. I recall that Wayne made yellow school buses.

Yeah, lots of manufacturing in the midwest back in those days, and an enormous amount of trucking traffic through nearby highways. Lots of places she could have been employed--and lots of the places that depended on the manufacturing business, like restaurants and bars, where employee turnover is high and maybe absence wouldn't be noticed or thought unusual.

International Harvester is now called Navistar. Kenosha is the trucking company across the highway that has always delivered their trucks all over the country. A majority of the locals worked for one or the other at the time BG was found.

Hobart manufactures welding equipment and has a welding school there still. Many other divisions of Hobart have moved or been sold off beginning around the time frame BG turned up here. Being from the area I am as positive as you can be of something like this, that she is not from this area. I have mentioned before that Dayton area media is far reaching in this corner of Ohio. People as far north as Lima Ohio and even Ft Wayne and Richmond IN get Dayton broadcast media and newspapers and especially depended on it back in that day. This was and still is well publicized here. There is media coverage whenever there is new info and technology related to this case and occasionally on anniversary of her discovery.The intersecting of I 75 and I 70 has a tremendous impact on this area for many types of business both then and now. It expands for quite the large radius around it. Troy included and now a lot of distribution centers and other businesses are locating there. It is also rural and farms outside of the Troy area. Ohio is largely rural outside of its major metro areas. Lots of agriculture too.It is hard for that reason to narrow down how she turned up there but I feel she must have come from some distance away within a short time of her death
