Early reports said no weapons were found.

Someone on JVM is saying that a knife was found. It is the knife that was used to murder Aja's mother, along with the hammer.

I know what you are going through right now, you are lucky to have each other to understand and comfort each other. Just remember, that you did everything in your power and gave your heart for this dear child. Sadly we can't find them all.

I have no doubt that the news is probably not accurate, that generally goes without saying. I do however hope that if someone who was out there searching for her (like yourself) did find her that it will come out and be made public. People need to know that there are so many out there besides LE that can help.

Rest, take care of yourself and let the body and spirit heal.

Here is the gentleman that found the car.

The article said LE believed it was.

I've been following this case for a few weeks now and heard the news this morning. I'm at a loss for words the sickness that these perps possess. Dear sweet Aja, may the Angels surround you now and all the others whose lives were taken so early by these monsters. We are all here for a reason and that is to find you before the Angels take you first.

THANK YOU to Oriah and her precious crew, and ALL that spent countless hours and time to find this dear sweet girl. Thank you WS to keep us updated as often as possible on all these cases.

Rest in Peace dear little one.

In a phone interview, Smith said OSBI investigators asked her about her brother's whereabouts several weeks ago.
"They asked where I would go if I was Lester. I told them to go to the cemetery where our parents were buried, and his car was found a mile from where they were buried," Smith said. "You can see the car in plain open sight. (Investigators) say they don't have the manpower to look for them, but they had the manpower to harass everyone one of us for two months. If they listened and look where we told them to look, we could have found them."
An OSBI spokesperson said investigators received hundreds of leads and it's a moot point because they believe Hobbs and Aja died shortly after they disappeared.
Investigators said they don't know if they'll ever know the exact day they died because of decomposition.

I don't remember reading ANY information regarding a cemetery - I remember reading that Hobb's sister wouldn't take lie detector tests and they thought he was in Mexico. WTH?

LE was harassing her and her family ? Well, there was a missing child alone with her mother's murderer...their family member was responsible for this. Why didn't THEY go search the cemetery area if they were so sure he was there ? This woman makes me very angry.

I can't believe I'm seeing those two words added to beautiful Aja's thread title. It feels unreal. :(

Very sad to hear this news....

I agree what someone before said......why did he not just drop the little girl off somewhere, anywhere........she had a life to live......

MOOT POINT! That has got to be the dumbest statement I have heard in a while. Even if they were already dead, a lot of evidence has been lost because they have been out there so long. Finding them sooner would also have saved a lot of money and LE seems to be worried about that. Then there is the chance that maybe Aja was alive. We don't know how long they were there before she died. Did she die immediately or could she have been saved if someone had gotten to her soon enough. MOOT POINT! Give Me A Break!

Not to mention saving her terrified, distraught father weeks of not knowing where his precious baby girl was.

Yes, people could have gone out on their own to look. But really...don't we typically advocate for looking into EVERY tip when the life of a child is at stake?

So, the Norman police department was told of this place months ago!!!!

This just makes my blood boil! What the @3ll is wrong with the LE in Oklahoma? They just can't seem to get it right.
OH yes let's just lump all LE in Oklahoma together.

Sorry but THAT makes MY blood boil, maybe it shouldn't but MY husband is a LE in Oklahoma and puts HIS life on the line EVERYDAY to protect others.

This baby was failed and it started with her mother and the monster that killed her. THERE WAS a active investigation and LE WAS trying to find this precious baby unfortunately they did not get to her in time.

Was some mistakes made? I believe so as well as my DH believes so ( he did not work this case) but it was big talk around his department and departments ARE under staffed due to budget issues. OSBI and other departments WAS trying to follow up on tips . I wish she was found sooner and I wish her murder had not harmed her ( I'd give anything for that!!) but the fact is the blame lies with HIM as HE was the monster that took her life.

We are all angry ( I am as well My DH is as well) so maybe we need to take a step back and calm down before we start to lump all Oklahoma LE together and start to point fingers. JMO.

While following up on every tip sounds ideal and would be wonderful it's just not reality. The thousands of "tips" that come in can't all be checked on, it's just not humanly possible. And because it's humans who have to try and decipher the tips and play the odds mistakes will be made, the choice of which tips to follow may not be the right one, but that's just the sad facts of reality.

It is always easy to sit and listen and say after the fact "this tip or that should have been checked, she would have been found, maybe could have been saved", but it's not that easy when you're doing it day in and out. Believe me, the LE that decided not to follow these tips are feeling terrible right now. Their fault? No, but it eats at them anyways.

Good Lord, he was an evil man. It appears he put her out of the car to die in the elements.

"My source says Aja’s body was found outside the vehicle and Hobbs was found inside the car. At this point, it appears to be a murder-suicide. Hobbs’ body wasn’t as badly decomposed because he wasn’t exposed to the elements."

Just imagine a grown man doing that to a child? It's beyond belief!

a MAN wouldn't do that.... A MONSTER would :(

You'll have to excuse me please, but just clicking the Thanks button wasn't sufficiently adequate for expressing my agreement with this post.

I haven't followed the case closely, but I do remember this...I'm not sure where I heard it...but I thought at the time it was a good tip. Now, finding out that it was never acted on...omg...too sad.

G-d bless you sweet Aja.

You're right. It may not have saved her. It's so easy to do the would, shoulda, coulda...but it's not healthy. It's just anger at work. Anger at losing another child. There is no reason why a child's life should be taken. There's no reason in any of this.

I agree that although nice, it's not logical or possible to check out every tip that comes in.

But when you specifically ask a family member where they think he may be, and they have a good, logical guess...you just can't ignore that.

No, I'm not blaming LE for her death. That blame lies solely with the one who took her life.
