Vinita's in Craig County. Don't see anything charge-wise resembling soul's thing though.

---

Right now, it appears Red Oak has a BP gas station and that's it.

Wasn't there a Citgo somewhere on route?
Ok- now I have to go back and find the receipt or it's going to make me OCD.
I really, really wish we had the accurate amount of gas and the mileage from the truck. That would give us so much more info.

I found this place: E-Z Mart,Nw Market St. Red Oak. I didn't check to see which brand of gas they sold.

PLEASE!!! I didn't know there was a copy of the receipt around.:great:

For some reason, I think that once upon a time "we" did decide it was E-Z Mart (or else I'm just having my daily dose of deja vu - entirely possible).

There is an E-Z Mart in about every town in that part of the state. Are you sure it was from the one in Red Oak because if they came from Eufaula they would have had to go out of their way if they went to Red Oak first. Btw, my ex's grandfather owned a gas station in Red Oak up until some time around 1990.

I thought they stopped at a gas station in Porum. If it was an E-Z Mart, they should have a # of which store it was.

I think he meant seclusion. Not sure though.

Brooks said maybe Mexican Mafia... I prefer to remove the Mexican part of his statement and consider the other half.

Crime history questions... How were large drug shipments transported and disturbited in the past ? How did major drug cartels run their operations?
I personaly think looking into how they worked in this specific area in the past might help us figure out the ways this area might have progressed.

For instance did they have a chain of service stations along routes of travel that allowed them to account for large sums of money ,hide traffic volume, keep the drugs moving ? Just asking.

Anyone know how all that worked back in the day? like say 1980 to 1991 or so?

18 wheel trucks, mostly chicken trucks picked up and delivered on big hauls. Smaller hauls were in pickups pulling horse trailers. Nightclubs and bars involved in distribution. Drops made in garages and business buildings.

I think it was the Phillips 66 on 270 in Wilburton, maybe? But there may be another one- still searching through records here for the copy of the receipt.

Thanks MELANAISE- these are from when they got lost? I think there might be a 'return' receipt as well, not for fuel but food and beverages- do you know if that's correct? :waitasec:

As of right now, all I know about is what is on the bank card statement.

Those seem like low dollar amounts to put gas in a truck...especially when there was such a large amount of cash supposedly found in the truck, and who knows how much cash is missing. Usually one fills up the tank, unless there are reasons like can't allocate the money to fill it up, it's cold or raining, or one is in a hurry and just want to be able to get to the next destination and then get more later, going to fill it up somewhere where gas is cheaper, procrastination, bad judgment, etc....or....?

Or is it just me?

I suppose it's futile to ask if LE tried to get videos from those stations....

They drove a small PU. It wouldn't take too much money to fill the tank.

$27.41= nine gallons of gas
$31.85= ten gallons of gas

Top off of partial tank of gas? or two five gallon gas cans?

I feel like I'm reading a book following this case ( and a few other OK cases) and can't wait for the next chapter.

But unfortunately, it's a real family missing.

Standard full size pickup trucks have about a 20 gallon gas tank...notwithstanding duel tanks or customization...

Who knows...I knew a guy who drove a Lincoln Continental (large car, gas hog) and would only get a few gallons at a time...I tried to tell him that filling up was more efficient (time-wise) and probably better for the car...(money wasn't the issue)... :banghead: That was back when gas was much cheaper, but still...

It looked like a full-size pickup truck to me, from the photos...plz correct me if that's wrong.

Do we even know who was in the truck at those gas transactions?

:(

Side note

Porum was home to outlaw Belle Starr, she was murdered and buried just a mile or so down the road at Younger's Bend
There was also an elk ranch that was raided because of starving elk and inhumane conditions not too many years ago just outside Porum, the owner is from the family that donated the land that Heavener Runestone Park is located on Poteau Mountain and owned land on Middle Mountain as well
There are much better places to eat in Wilberton, why stop both days at Porum?
