Regarding the cash left in the truck....
Whether it was 1000 dollars or 30,000 dollars.......why leave it because whoever would find the truck would not know that the cash was there so they would not know that the cash was missing. Make sense?
If it was a ruse to establish new ID's, they would need some money.
So maybe they got out voluntarily after meeting someone or stumbling across something and met with foul play (or accident). The perpetrator would not have necessarily gone back to the truck, perhaps wanted to avoid leaving forensic evidence anywhere near the vehicle-not necessarily knowing there was a large amout of cash in the vehicle.....
This case is very strange. Glad the poor dog lived.
