Guys - check out this story! It's related to a Maryland case that's up in the Crimes in the New forum.

PALMER PARK, Md. - The person of interest in the murders of five women in Prince George's County is a "serial killer" and likely "one of the most infamous criminals" in U.S. history, police Chief Roberto Hylton said Tuesday, expanding on what ABC 7 News was first to report.
Hylton says the man also travelled extensively to other states and he fears his trail of crime will grow as other jurisdictions look at their unsolved cases.
"This is going to be a serial criminal beyond our expectations and the number is going to be staggering," Hylton said.
If you look at his MO for the crimes for which they are preparing to charge him, it's very similar to this case. And the charges include making pornographic images of a minor female.
LE clearly knows more about this guy than they're saying now.
Fairy1, that's an interesting possible connection for sure. Any idea what brought his travel to other states? I'm curious if his work/hobby/desire to kill would have been something that brought him to this type of area in OK? Is he an outdoorsman? Into oil? Hmm....
Thanks!
I don't think this could be the guy. He's only 27 now, that would have made him 16 or 17 when the family was slaughtered and Lauria and Ashley went missing. Seems unlikely, but you never know.
They still haven't named him publicly but it sounds like this is going to be huge. The guy has two masters degrees and has studied forensics. He purposely changes his MO so LE can't profile him. He murdered several women in Maryland and is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges there. But they think he's killed others in Texas and Florida. There's a lot of land between FL & TX - including OK!
The authorities seem convinced that this guy will wind up being quite the serial killer when all is said and done.
I will keep an eye on that story, just in case. They say they will probably charge him in a month or so - they should be able to make public a lot more info then.
It does seem unlikely with him being so young. But it also wouldn't be the first time a teen killed another teen(s)...or whomever. Or a teen had an older adult, helping a teen become a murderer.
Doesn't hurt to watch the case for sure. And setting houses on fire, while not all that uncommon...bares watching, imo.
Maybe I'm just hoping for a new suspect in this case. :waitasec:
I will definitely keep watching. This is a bad guy with an extensive criminal record in Maryland - just since 2009. We shall see where he was hanging before then. He's 27 - he didn't just become a criminal a year ago.
Quick update before I crash. We hit up three universities with requests to add data into Namus. Talked to an ME who had particular interest in Ashley and Lauria's case. That was refreshing.
Found 3 more bones, a rib and what looks like a piece of skull or possibly pelvis (?). All very old. Also, a very old backpack type bag full of very old and very dirty cloth diapers. Got pulled away after that for a live case and had to cut grid short.
I am tired of my job, lol.
I'll keep ya'll posted on what the forensics people say....
ETA: I forgot to add- the diapers made me wonder about the possibility of pregnancy in either girl.(Not that the diapers were related- just they made me think of babies.)
Does anyone have any links to any speculation of this? TIA.
Oriah & JTSYS, Wow...don't know how I've missed this one.
I was in touch with JTSYS last week on another case and he brought it to my attention. Like everyone, I was very discouraged after working on Aja's case. Looks like were having a shake up of sorts in the OSBI, and that has to be good.
I am reading up from the beginning, but just wanted to ask about the arrowhead collections. I am guessing they are vaulable and I have a friend that is a doctor here in town, McAlester, and besides his work, he and his wife have for years been traveling Oklahoma hunting and collecting them. I think he knows a lot on this subject. It is his passion.
If you think it could be productive, I will start running down that angle.
Oriah and JTSYS, I have also been invested in some recent cases and just wanted to tell you to keep your spirit. Also, my husband and I could see being involved in some searches in the future. Sorry it took me so long jump on.
(((hugs)))
Sooner
Just thinking... Lauria had a dental appointment scheduled for the following morning and planned to leave the trailer shortly beforehand. Anyone heard of a dentist that would possibly have xrays..Is that something we need to look at? I'm sure that has been looked into...just trying to get a grasp.
Ok-following up on the bondsman thought- anyone know someone who knows someone, lol bondsman wise- along the I-44/ possibly 64 route? Where are the pockets of bondspeople out that way? From Broken Arrow, though Baxter Springs, to Pittsburg (KS).
TIA.
