Just checked on Con's DOC page to see if he's been assigned to another facility yet, but he's still at Lexington.
His first parole hearing is May 2017. Less than three years. I hope the parole board is more concerned with keeping a dangerous criminal off the streets than the DA was.

Investigators said much of the evidence points to James Conn Knipp. He was the last person seen with Miller and Haynes... Now investigators said Sabrina Fincher, the owner of the car Conn Knipp was driving, has also been named as a person-of-interest.
Investigators are also asking for your help in connection with a 9 mm automatic that was collected as evidence, and was reportedly in Conn Knipp's possession. Investigators want to know if anyone saw Conn Knipp, or another man named Colby Barrick with the gun.
Sooo... apparently the PI was trying to get access to tapes of conversations between Con and Sabrina while he was locked up in Love County. Sheriff Joe said no, ain't lettin' you have 'em, and the DA said no, he doesn't have to let you have 'em.

The PI tried an end run around the local yokels and got shot down by the state attorney general's office as well. Click the Preview button at the end of PMF's post to read the snarktastic letter Klein wrote in response.
I definitely applaud this PI for his hard work on this case, but I would never think a PI would have legal means to obtain evidence of that nature so this doesn't really come as a surprise. Unless there's some law I don't know about that makes recorded jail conversations available to the public under the FOIA?
This week, Colby Barrick was arrested by Sheriff Joe in Love County on a firearms charge.
