I can’t imagine the remains aren’t Colt’s and Molly’s. 😢

CLPD said the location where the sets of remains were found had not previously been searched, and that prior search areas were identified based on the information, evidence and leads available to investigators at the time.

However, as new details emerged in the investigation and landowner assistance was obtained, the search parameters were expanded, leading to this week’s new search operation.

Wow, this is such surprising news!

I was just re-watching a YouTube video about their disappearance earlier this week. They’ve been on my mind a lot recently, and I started to look back into it again, only to discover this news. What a strange coincidence.

I hope they are found. Given the location of the remains, I can’t think of anyone else who would fit the bill.

I hope the families finally get their closure. 🕊️

If this does in fact turn it to be them, will this result in charges?

Colt & Molly FOUND?!!!! - Were they found on the Nipp Family farm? IMO either someone talked or is it because the farm was recently(?) sold and the new owner allowed the search? How sad that the corruption and influence of the Sheriff, at the very least, made their families live in agony not knowing what happened and/or being able to lay them to rest and get justice for them. It also allowed the killer(s) to remain free, harming others and/or putting others at risk of harm.

At the worst, perhaps if the corruption/influence didn’t exist, maybe a search warrant could have been immediately issued or LE would have been to access the proper immediately under the belief that someone was in imminent danger. If so, maybe Colt and/or Molly may have still been alive or, if they were already dead, LE may have been able obtain forensic evidence that could have resulted in the prosecution of those involved.

(Sounds like it was a result of the new owner! I wonder if the new owner bought the property so they would be able to authorize the search?)

This week, search teams conducted an operation in Love County between Oswalt Road, Pike Road, and Long Hollow Road, which had not been previously searched.

Teams conducted searches on Feb. 18 in a previously unsearched location near Oswalt Road, Pike Road and Long Hollow Road. Police dogs, a Verizon truck and two charter buses joined the search, which reportedly included radar imaging equipment and drones.

During the search, two sets of human remains were discovered.

oh my ....how I hope and pray it is Molly and Colt. Time puts things into perspective.....when Molly and Colt went missing my daughter was just 5 months old and recently she just turned 13....that is how long I've been thinking about Molly and Colt and their families....Please let them be found and justice prevail. 😞

The remains were found on land across the road from where the vehicle had been wrecked - located in a previously unsearched wooded area of Love County, specifically between Oswalt Road, Pike Road, and Long Hollow Road. For more context; it's 1,000 acres of property, and the remains were found about 1 mile NORTH of where the vehicle was wrecked, deep in the woods. If the two of them made it 1 mile north on foot and got lost, it's very likely that Conn Nipp wouldn't have found them himself to kill them, as suspected by locals for 13 years. It sounds more reasonable that they genuinely got lost and it just went downhill from there. A lot of speculation has occurred over the years, about their phones going off the grid within 30 minutes of each other. This doesn't seem suspicious to me. Phones eventually die if they aren't being charged, and in their case, they were using them to call people for help, all through the morning.

The land was recently sold and the new owners were approached by law enforcement, and they allowed the search and recovery. Even though they are waiting on DNA confirmation, the families were able to confirm to local friends and relatives, that they belong to the missing young people - I think it's possible they identified remaining clothing and the fact that Colton had told friends over the phone that he had broken his leg probably helped.

Whether or not Conn Nipp went back, found them and killed them remains to be seen. (what is the motive her, for one? Other than he's an evil person) He's been in and out of jail since 2013. He should at the VERY least, be charged with leaving them there to die. He knew day after day after day, that they were missing and did his absolute least to aid in finding them. He was the only one who knew where their starting point was. He could have encouraged his family members to allow access on properties for the search. So many things that could have been done to save these kids. :-(

Colby Barrick, an associate of Nipp's, later claimed in jail that they were shot and dumped in a pond called "Moxley Lake." That was disproven. Colby is also the "butt dialer" who dialed 911 and continued some kind of conversation about the alleged murder and Moxley Lake. It's possible that he was lying to someone for clout, or spinning his own hypotheses to someone and it was unfortunately overheard by the 911 operator.

I worked at Winstar World Casino in Love county for 10 yrs and the picture some people paint of that area being riddled with meth addiction is SPOT ON. You have your good and bad in every town, but that area is known for it's meth crisis. Sadly, Nipp dealt drugs, Haynes imbibed and Molly was also starting to party with them at 17. They were all together that night for the purpose of "partying" with drugs. Nipp enjoyed leading deputies on high speed chases, which is what happened and how the vehicle was wrecked. Had the two not been with such a low life that night, they'd more than likely still be alive today. Had they not gone out for the purpose of getting high...they would have been somewhere completely different and not with Nipp, who ultimately drove them to their deaths. It's very sad that a couple of small choices resulted in such young deaths.

I wonder how long both were alive since they made phone calls
Both phones went dead within a half hour of each other in the morning around 9:30 am and 9:56 am. Colt told friends he was coughing up blood, had a broken ankle (or leg? Different sources say different things) and was laying in a creek bed.

This was July 8 of 2013 in Oklahoma. I don't know if you know the weather here, but it's unbearably hot and humid during July/Aug, usually gets over 100 degrees. I feel terrible just thinking about them spending their last days dehydrating and dying from sun and no water. What a slow, horrible way to go - I have a bad feeling this is what we're going to learn. No foul play, just slow suffering from the elements.

Which is Haynes refered to constantly as her friend?

Y'all, we were looking in the wrong damn place the whole time! The local news videos show official vehicles going through a ranch gate on the NORTH side of Oswalt & Long Hollow Road. Nipp's relative lived SOUTH of Oswalt on Long Hollow.

There were a number of reasons to scrutinize the land to the south, but I don't think there was any particular reason to look north of Oswalt back then. I wonder who owned that property at the time?

What’s next after discovery of human remains in Love County?

This article says the remains were found scattered and there's discussion of forensic odontology.

Sorry, I don't remember how to quote text and stuff because I haven't been here in a long while. I'm not *back* back; just happy to finally see movement on one of the most frustrating cases and felt the need to check in.

I hope this discovery leads to justice and a proper resolution to this nightmare for Molly and Colt and their loved ones.

Are you asking "why" is he referred to as her friend?

If so, - they were only dating for a week. He was 21, she was 17. They were 'hanging out' either trying to get access to meth or had already gotten it on the night they vanished. Conn Nipp and Colt Haynes didn't like each other, so drugs may have been the only reason they were in the same car together. None of that has ever been clear as far as I've seen. It's not like Nipp is going to admit to doing or selling meth.
