OK - Mother and stepfather charged after 11-year old girl gives birth at home - MUSKOGEE, Aug 2025

I help homeschool my 11 year old grandson. I absolutely agree there needs to be more oversight. We are in AL and there is none here. We aren’t held accountable by the state for anything. I have a degree in elementary education and he is getting a good education but the lack of accountability is appalling.

Thank you. I respect homeschool families. I probably would homeschool my own children now.

Kudos to you. And it sounds like you would not have an issue with your grandson going to school to participate in the current testing standards with other children? I believe it would also provide a baseline for schools to have the scores of standardized tests compared with children who are homeschooled. It might show that homeschooled children are thriving and excelling.

Christopher Paolini, author of "Eragon" series was homeschooled,

I don’t want to veer off topic but we keep a grade book and I’m probably stricter on him about accountability than a public school teacher would be. He also attends a homeschool coop one morning per week. I don’t think homeschool is for everyone, but for now, it is working for us. I think DGS would do fine if tested.

Do we know that she was homeschooled? I must have missed it.
Hutson said that doctors, nurses, or teachers typically notice these cases and report them, but since the child was not in school or may have been homeschooled, the pregnancy went unnoticed.

indicates she was not enrolled in school. She was either being home schooled or withdrawn from school on the PRETENSE that she would be homeschooled. Whether any schooling whatsoever was happening is not known.

11-years-old, poor baby.

11 years old, my little girl is 11 in November and is still very much a little girl who loves soft toys and pink and lego. She has been robbed of her childhood and the trauma must be unimaginable. I wish we could chop his bits off.

In the news story it said they think it was a twelve year old that they babysat, “they just got curious” and well you know …

Unfrigging believable!! We’ll see what the paternity test shows. Two week wait.
A 12 yo baby sat a 10 yo? 12 is TOO young to be babysitting IMO!!

Do you think teachers could miss a pregnant 11 year old? Sounds unlikely.

I took it to mean that someone in the family was babysitting the 12 y/o boy, not that the boy was babysitting the pregnant girl.

But now what we know the story about this boy being the father is false, none of this matters. It's possible he doesn't even exist.

How about charging him with rape in addition to child abuse because that’s what it is.

Why are we pussy footing around these charges? She may have been 10 years old when she conceived. It could have been going on well before that.

Makes me sick. The child was sexually assaulted (raped). Charge him accordingly.

MOO

The article has been updated- the step father is believed to be the father after dna testing.
As I said in my previous post, that was my fear: who the "father" could be.

This 11-year-old is still a child. IMO, she's unable to put in words just how she has been changed - forever, and irrevocably - but she does know that she has been. And it's not even over, not by half.

Adults in the room do this kind of thing and they never, ever leave the child a map to find their way back to who they were before they were violated. She only knows she's lost. I hope there is abundant love, compassion and empathy surrounding her, but I can't hold my breath that it will ever be enough.

My heart breaks for her.

Snipped from news & article:
- An Oklahoma man was arrested and charged with child sexual abuse after his 11-year-old stepdaughter gave birth at their home in Muskogee.

- The couple were also charged with six counts of felony child neglect, including failing to provide the 11-year-old with adequate medical care and supervision when she gave birth at home, according to court documents.

-The remaining five counts of child neglect allege neglect of the five children they share, ages 2, 4, 6, 7 and 9, on or between Jan. 1 and Aug. 16. The children were "living in deplorable conditions," according to the documents. "The victims were found to be living in dog feces and had no clothing on," court documents say.

-"Each of the charges against both defendants are punishable by up to life," Hutson said.

According to the article the parents initially claimed not to know the 11 yr old was pregnant. Parents names are (stepfather) Dustin Walker & (mother) Cherie Walker.

Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney is Janet Hutson

Bond has been set at $100,000 each. A hearing is scheduled for Sept 3.

Each parent is facing a possible life sentence…I think in this case that is completely appropriate due to the devastating impact this will have on that little 11 yr old girl and the baby boy she gave birth to. Not to mention all 5 of her siblings who are now wards of the state.

I hope this baby girl has a biological father or a close relative who is up to adopting her and possibly the baby, able to do the hard work that will be needed to give her back what remains of her childhood. I don’t know if it is even possible, but she deserves the opportunity to try. This nightmare she’s been living through no fault of her own shouldn’t define the rest of her life. It just hurts my heart knowing that at 11 years old that 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and her sorry excuse for a parent have caused so much trauma that she will carry for too many years.

Having a baby at home unmedicated at 11 is so traumatizing. Everything she has experienced has been. I’d guess the other kids have too.

The good news is that the 'dad' will get a minimum 25 year sentence. The bad news is who will be looking after the children who are having children?

Not suprised, why else would they have allowed the child to birth at home? They were trying to hide her pregnancy due to the sexual abuse occuring in the home. Was the egg donor allowing the step-monster to have sex with her daughter? If Mom walks away with a slap on wrist, I'm going to lose my 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. The sentencing ranges are linked below.

Wonder what Grandma Michelle has to say now?

That goes for ALL the school age kids not just the eleven year old according to what I read. No one was in school.

They can't even pick up dog crap and put clothes on the littles. Not a chance these two winners were homeschooling the kids, IMO.

Terrible. Humanity doesn't take care of the little ones. This story is repeated everywhere in the world. In any neighborhood, in any social group.

Why were all the children naked? Was she the only one who was sexually abused?

Agree, there was likely zero education happening, homeschooling was probably the pretense to explain the children not being in school or near its mandated reporters. In addition, no medical appointments removes those mandated reporters from the equation as well.

Hard to tell without knowing the sex of the 9 year old sibling and also whether any of the other children were the bio children of the rapist/stepfather. Some men do seem to draw a distinction between SAing their own issue as compared to "step" children. Still others have a specific sex they abuse as opposed to simply any child any sex available.

Regardless, I am very glad those kids are now outta that hellhole.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention it, but poking around on FB leads me to believe the next sibling is a boy and not the stepfather's child. No idea about the subsequent children.

No, the 12-year-old boy was BEING babysat by someone in the family. If this boy does exist, I sure hope he wasn't abused them in his own right.

If she didn't have morning sickness and had never had a period, most likely the pregnancy could indeed have gone undetected until fairly late in the whole process. I do wish only the best for that baby, who asked for none of this, and the girl, who didn't either. I'm also thankful that they didn't kill that baby when it was born.

p.s. How was this story exposed? Were she and the baby taken to a hospital afterwards, or something else? Does anyone know?
