I have not read that anyone has been spotted elsewhere or his truck, please correct me if I'm wrong. Any chance he was bringing the kids back and there was an accident? IMO. I don't think this but thought I would bring it up.

So he picked up the kids at 5 pm, and the mom says they were not returned at 8 pm as agreed. Likely he was just expected to take them for dinner and the girls would not have taken any belongings or extra clothing with them.

Decker, 5' 8" 190 lbs. Black hair ponytail. With 3 slender, blonde little girls. Not exactly a group that seamlessly blends in.

Who

I find it completely outlandish that the father has any visitation rights if he's homeless. What in the hell is that law out there in Washington?
I had wondered that myself, but maybe he has fallen on hard times and hadn't done anything that made his ex think he might put the children in danger?

Where I live, Amber Alerts also require that authorities have some general idea where the abductor is taking the child(ren).

I agree. I’m concerned all of their safety is at risk. An accident should not be ruled out.

So tense …was listening on the scanner. There’s teams out searching.

Homeless people get visitation - it’s not like he had overnights. Some states they allow homeless to keep their children. Which I find shocking. This past summer, my local Walmart had a family with little kids living in the parking lot of the shopping center. I’m in New Jersey.
Yet I’ve seen children removed for no running water - crazy standards. IMO

Speaking from personal experience in Washington, it can take several months to get a hearing to request visitation be adjusted if there is a change in a parent's circumstances. If the father recently became homeless, it's possible the mother was attempting to get the visitation changed but it wasn't finalized yet. Court dates are often set months out if there isn't some critically emergent reason for the judge to hear it sooner. JMO.

She knew his phone was cut off before letting them go? Or did she discover that after? Did she send the oldest with a phone? Can phones that have been cut off still be tracked?
Mom seems genuinely shocked

Imo

I'm familiar with this road and there are multiple campgrounds along it. Hopefully they've been safely located at a campground there.

"Later over the weekend, the truck was spotted at the roundabout in the west end of Leavenworth, leading police to begin focusing their search in wooded areas around the town. Federal agencies, including the Forest Service and Homeland Security, were also enlisted."

"Earlier in the day [Monday], Decker was charged with three counts of first-degree custodial interference for allegedly failing to return his children..."

"Chelan County sheriff's officials activated the East Cascade SWAT Team about 5 p.m. to respond to Rock Island Campground, about 18 miles west of Leavenworth in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Deputies closed down Icicle Road near Snow Lakes Trailhead just before 7 p.m.; it remained closed as of 9 p.m., staffed by two deputies directing motorists headed higher into the Icicle Valley to turn around."

The road is closed at the Snow Lakes Trailhead, but that's 12 miles before you reach the Rock Island Campground. I wonder why the road is closed such a long distance back.

Snow Lakes: this is one of the access trails into the Enchantments, it’s beautiful and rugged terrain that is extremely popular for hikers and backpackers. If the vehicle was found but the four people weren’t inside, they could be anywhere. If he’s armed and desperate, he’s dangerous. You don’t want crowds of people near where someone dangerous is on the loose.

Other closure reason, unrelated road repair.

It’s interesting that SWAT has been deployed…to me, that says the suspect may be alive and is not cooperating…this is not good.

Its also concerning that the update was switched to “alert cancelled”. Cancelled not found. Definitely not good.

I cant go to sleep until I know what the status is
