I've been thinking that they found the truck and what would seem like a camping site, but there is no sign of the father or the girls.

I think if there was a final conclusion there would have been an official announcement by now.

But, if they found the truck, but not the girls,I don’t think they would cancel the alert. That is what is concerning.

exactly, I cannot see canceling the alert unless the girls had been found, one way or another. A hop across the border wouldn't end the alert, it would only expand it IMO

I find it completely outlandish that the father has any visitation rights if he's homeless. What in the hell is that law out there in Washington?

It's possible that he may have recently become homeless and they have not gone to court to amend the custody arrangement. It's also possible that the mom has been trying to maintain some relationship with him for the time being.

In Washington state, you can't view the details of divorce or custody documents publicly but you can see if/when these types of cases have been filed. There isn't anything in the court records system for Travis Decker as far as a divorce or a parental/custody plan. There is the charge filed yesterday for custodial interference, and a case for overpaid unemployment benefits from 2012 that I cannot confirm is him without a birthdate.

It's possible the couple's separation and custodial arrangements were between them and not legally done. It's also possible they were done in another state. I don't know how long the family has lived in Washington but as a military family, it's likely they have lived in other states too.

I cant believe there is no WHY given for the alert cancellation STILL…the cancellation means either

A) They found the girls alive
B) They found the girls deceased

I can think of no other reason they would cancel it.

Could be they cancelled it and returned gorls to mom and they don’t believe we, the public are entitled to an explanation…which is kind of true.

If found deceased I believe they would say so…so Im hopeful.

If they found the car that was part of the Amber alert and for some reason or another felt confident that the family is in the area close by (either dead or alive), I feel like there is also no need to keep people on the lookout for the car that they have and the people that are in the woods?
They might have something suggesting grave bodily harm without the bodies. They might have reason to believe they are in the woods alive (like there was a campsite abandoned just shorty before they arrived).

I think if found alive a simple statement would occur ‘the girls were found safely and have been returned to their mother please respect their privacy’

to release a death statement would be delayed as long as possible imo so the mother can let people know and have some privacy prior to the media storm imo

What if it is a mix between the two of A and B. That would probably make a statement a little more complicated.

We need much better education about mental health issues in this country and we need better care options - money needs to be allocated toward mental health.
As a wealthy nation, we need to prioritize caring for our mentally ill and their families.
I’m very saddened to read that he is ex military.
We should take better care of those who serve our country.
It’s upsetting to me that this dad was living in his car and homeless.
I can’t even imagine what this mom is going through.
Praying that by some miracle that we get great news at the impending press conference.

The map seemed to indicate houses along that road, I'm surprised LE would be able to keep the lid on had they been killed or injured. There would have been ambulances, etc. I'm leaning towards trying to talk him down, yet having proof the kids are alive. Or, maybe they have the girls but are trying to keep him from killing himself.
