Thanks. Unfortunately I can't read it, website not available in the EU apparently. But that's not your fault, obviously.
I'll go and see if I can find it somewhere else.
I’m also in the eu. If you search my posts I posted a link to a yahoo article that contained the same info.

Whitney Decker, her family and her ex-husband’s family are all cooperating with the investigation but have requested privacy. She agreed to allow Cozart to speak on her behalf.

Cozart said Travis Decker, who was diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder and a borderline personality disorder after leaving active service, has been struggling with deteriorating mental health.

Cozart said Travis Decker had been desperately seeking mental health services from Veterans Affairs and a veterans crisis line but was ultimately left to struggle in isolation.

“When you have a vet who is suffering from complex PTSD and other mental health issues, they do not have the mental bandwidth” to schedule needed exams and evaluations, she said. “This was a tragedy that could’ve been completely avoided with proper funding of mental health services for veterans.
“Whitney believes, as I do, that something broke inside of him,” Cozart said. “Travis would not have done what he did if he was himself. He clearly had some sort of break and everything that he had been living with, everything that had been bottled up inside of him for so long as far as trauma, just won out.”
TY That's what I've thought/suspected and have also personally (on my property) experienced in Co Springs with the homeless veteran population that resides there in many different homeless encampments. -- lack of mental health continuing help.

After reading this statement from Whitney Decker’s attorney: I will not sleep tonight. As a community at Websleuths every one of us shares in her indescribable suffering and pain.. 😢

Washington mom believes an Amber Alert may have saved her 3 daughters

Authorities are searching for the girls' father after their bodies were found zip-tied and with plastic bags over their heads in a remote part of Washington state.

Whitney Decker believes her daughters may still be alive had the Washington State Patrol issued an Amber alert for them last week, her attorney told NBC affiliate KING of Seattle on Thursday.

“It’s very important to Whitney to get that fixed,” said attorney Arianna

Trying to rationalize why his body wasn't found with the girls and perhaps he couldn't off himself in the same manner.
Is there somewhere nearby that is high enough he could throw himself into the water to unalive himself?
My thoughts exactly. He must have loved these girls since he continued to be part of their lives. How could he live with himself after this? IF he is alive, he must be haunted by what he did all alone in the wilderness. IMO, he will take his own life.

I'm not sure why people assume he feels guilty when it sounds as if he planned on killing these precious girls.

Can’t remember if I saw it anywhere…but do we know if TD did any tours overseas? It seems like from the time of purchasing their newest house, TD began to unravel. Divorce, part-time work to not working anymore, being homeless, then murder of the girls and he goes missing. It’s almost like little by little he got further and further away from civilian life, which makes me question if he deluded himself into thinking throwing everything away and going off grid was the ultimate “purge” to be “free” and one with nature.

Or, maybe it’s as simple as he blamed his ex wife for everything he’s gone through, and killing the girls was the ultimate FU. Sigh.

If you look at the most recent article it states that he did a tour of Afghanistan.

I don't see how an amber alert would have changed anything. As long as he kept getting the children this was going to be the outcome.

I know this is going to be confusing. But I will try so please be kind.

The Washington State Patrol was contacted Friday night to request an AMBER Alert, according to the Wenatchee Police Department. However, the case did not meet the requirements of such an alert.

It didn't qualify at the time because "there was no current evidence to believe the children were at risk of serious bodily injury or death it did not qualify”. A second request was completed then sent by the Wenatchee Police on Saturday mornings with additional criteria documented. They urged an Amber Alert be instituted from WSP on Saturday. WSP replied on Saturday that the request from Wenatchee Police still did not satisfy the requirements. But WSP agreed that the second request did indeed rise to the level of urgent and issued an Endangered Missing Person Alert instead (this is a level below and in addition has an expiration window).

Would an Amber Alert have helped find the truck sooner probably not but the really sad part is we will never know. I hope I have accurately portrayed the facts. In conclusion we all know the tragedy which followed ‘that the three girls were found dead on Monday’.

I am paraphrasing so if anything I wrote is in error please flag my post.

Just my thoughts here, but even if this guy has no mental health issues at all, his CIRCUMSTANCES at this time, should have precluded him from ever having unsupervised overnight or weekend visits with the children.
Certainly good people can fine themselves homeless and entire families can find themselves homeless, but the circumstance of being homeless…instability, contact with total strangers, lack of money, etc…is no place anyone would voluntarily want children to be.
Despite what his ex-wife said about what a great guy he was…she was talking about him…not his homelessness, the court should have been advocating for the children and required supervised visitation until this guy’s situation improved and stabilized.
What a tragedy. Prayers out to everyone.

Thanks for the correction.
Still, just my opinion, there should have been no unsupervised visitation.

I am going to agree to disagree. A mother or father facing housing instability does not mean they should no longer have rights to their children they previously enjoyed. Many, many people experience extreme circumstances and get back on their feet. Part of co-parenting and parenting plans is to preserve relationships. This involves maturity, being focused on the children, and longevity. The father taking the kids out to dinner, is a perfectly normal way to maintain the relationships. Ideally, dad would have gotten back on his feet and the homeless period of his life would be a speed bump on the co-parenting journey.

I do agree, it is difficult to get into any provider for mental health issues. Especially the VA. Due to recent administrative cuts, multiple roles at the VA simply don't exist anymore. Case Management services are gone, in my area the entire VA Suicide Out Reach/Counseling and Crisis Teams literally no longer exist-gone, Counselors, Psychologists, gone. Patients were not notified that staff they trusted have been eliminate. VA was clonky to get help to begin with, but now you are looking at 4-6 months plus to even get seen.

*Not a political post, just emphasizing how getting help is so difficult, now it is so much harder for certain populations.

BBM. We don't know the timelines. Did he take the girls to the camp site and perhaps, one by one lead them out of the truck to their deaths? We don't know the estimated time of death. If they died the first day, before he needed to have them home, no. If they died that evening most likely not. If he had them at the camp site for days first, then maybe. If they camped for several days, it is possible. I just think what occurred happened almost immediately upon arrival there that day/evening.

I agree. Homelessness and instability (hello 90% of the us right now) does not mean visits shouldn’t occur in appropriate settings or should be supervised.

Certain mental health indicators yes - refusal to be assessed for those yes.

I do think there will be more to this in respect that more should have been done sooner in terms of the visits but again, we will see what develops and is released.

Thanks for posting, but OMG "Whitney detailed incidents that contributed to the separation, including a situation on Aug. 15, 2024, when Travis allegedly found one of their daughters passed out with a bathrobe tied around her neck at his mother's house and failed to inform Whitney.
Are they suggesting that one of the children tried to commit suicide? That is horrendous.

Please please let them find him…..
