Just jumping off your post to say ... He's obviously not stupid, and with all the recent publicity surrounding border angst, I think it highly unlikely that he would attempt to cross at any legal crossing, and I'm inclined to think he's looking for an unmanned, remote route.

Regardless, Canadian border guards will be very aware of the case and the possibilities, and will be hypervigilant with their inspections.

JMO

I'm not sure what he thinks going into Canada would do for him. Does he think the authorities won't search for him there if he leaves the US? Assuming he's still alive, I wonder what his game plan is.

“Authorities are asking owners of cabins and residents in remote areas of Chelan, Kittitas, King, Snohomish, and Okanogan counties to secure their properties by locking all doors, including sheds and outbuildings, and leaving window blinds open and outside lights on.”

I wonder why they want residents to leave their blinds open. The first thing I would do is close my blinds but turn on all the lights.

Fox New Seattle has an overview of the last week as well.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he didn’t do it, someone else did this, killed him and dumped his body somewhere to make it seem like he did it. I want to know whose bloody handprints were on the truck. Was it his blood?

Interestingly, I've been watching a King County Sheriff's helicopter and a Snohomish County Sheriff's helicopter on a flight tracking website flying back and forth paths over the area for the last 45 minutes or so. The helicopters and the flight paths both suddenly vanished, a couple of minutes apart, like the tracking transponders were turned off. Could be a glitch or could be intentional, but they have had tracking transponders on during previous searches this week.

Anyone with a good drone with thermal capabilities could help locate him if he’s alive in the woods somewhere.

The issue with that is if he's on the PCT, it's going to highlight all the other hikers out there too.

His military pal describing him

Different photos of Travis

1:25 into the video his pal states that Decker deleted posts after the news reported the missing girls.
... in the days following the murder accusations, the source said Decker deleted nearly all his posts, photos, videos, and unfollowed most of his former comrades.
If this is the case he was alive in the days after the girls were murdered and was on the move.

BBM I'm way behind but wanted to make this point too!
Where was he, and what device was he using to make changes to FB? Can’t imagine that he’d get decent internet coverage to allow him to access his account while out in the wilds as we presume.

I have to wonder if that is a journalistic error. Maybe he made those changes PRIOR to the murders?

MOO
He must have been monitoring the news and reports.

He looks different in every picture! If he is alive near the border, I hope they catch him soon.
I thought that also. In one photo, it looks like he may have poor dental hygiene?

I had to delete my post that says you cant get a permit anymore, like as if that is even realistic even if it was still a program lol.
I always hear about how canadas border Patrol is so hard to get through, I dont know if its true, Ive never had an issue
There is one that is hard. The other one, still bringing you to BC, is easy.
I would wonder about the cellphone. Different company? To you have to buy a Canadian plan? Had he been to Canada recently? Did he buy a burner phone?
If to hide, honestly, homeless population of the big city is safer.

Curious, what facts of the case lead you to this conclusion?

In addition to whatever toxic soup of mental and emotional issues Travis may have going on, I suppose it's also possible that there are some twisted ideological aberrations at play, as well----such as 'the world is a mess and I am going save my children from it'.

With this, I could imagine guilt being less of a factor for him, therefore seemingly upping the probability he remains alive and running. I have a harder time, though, picturing TD living the life of a captured and imprisoned individual. I am going to hope that he does not force the hand of an officer.

This reminds me of a case (on WS) of a guy who was shooting at drivers from nearby bushes/wooded area in the U.S.

The terrain was checked by LE with no sight of the perp.
Alert sounded for locals to be vigilant as he was armed.

After some time, amateurs found him dead, he shot himself probably the same day of the attack.
And he was found not far from the highway, in the area searched previously by the professionals.

I guess
it could also be true in this case.
Has anybody spotted him alive? 🤔

I might have missed this info as I'm not following regularly.

Wouldn’t that be a major twist? I did briefly consider it, but dismissed almost immediately. It’s more likely than not that Travis committed the crimes.

TD left behind electronic devices in his vehicle. Anybody familiar with this region knows the coverage is spotty. Also, as search warrants are being returned, LE has narrowed their search to specific areas and closed specific roads, campgrounds, and trails, until further notice. All are identified in the MSM link below.

IMO, and just based on the charge document and the statement by Whitney’s lawyer yesterday, Travis has low self esteem and self loathing. In a way, he thought he was saving his daughters from the mess that he was becoming. IMO I don’t think he did this to get back at Whitney. I also think that Travis is dead. We shall see as more evidence is released.

Saving his daughters from his deteriorating self is an interesting idea. I, also, doubt it was revenge.

The girls' mother has filed a protection order against TD.

"A protection order petition filed by the mother of three murdered Wenatchee girls exposes the escalating behavior of Travis Decker in the weeks before their disappearance. The June 3 court filing details Decker's unraveling behavior and provides the clearest timeline yet of events leading to the tragedy."

This article has some other new details. A few that stood out to me:
- TD "faced bullying and isolation from colleagues" at work.
- TD received daily counseling from a Georgia pastor for months, speaking several hours each day. Four weeks before the murders, he abruptly ended these phone calls.

Several hours a day of pastoral counseling seems... unusual. I wonder if this was a friend who was providing phone support on a more informal basis?

Leave their blinds open during the day, at least, so they can see him if he shows up.

Were they not living in Georgia at some
Point? 2020?
