There is a missing poster here which says that he was seen leaving the pier and heading south on the east bank esplanade. Also tells where his phone last pinged.

So hopefully didn't fall in the water?

Missing Hearts also has a (different) missing poster:

If someone could copy these posters over that would be great, my browser is not cooperative and is putting me on a loop! :gaah:

The path must be going underneath the highways?

I wonder if family and friends have any idea where he was headed. Is there any location in that direction he likes, or where he knows someone?

If you zoom in on the map, you can see that there are bike shops and other cool things nearby. Maybe he's at a friends' place.

The comments by BF in the link from post #15 are indeed interesting. I hope this guy didn't start using drugs or something to self medicate, to comfort depression for example.

Unfortunately, I think suicide is the most likely scenario. It was a little before my time, but a paralyzed kid in my home town committed suicide by piloting his electric wheelchair down a flight of stairs. I don't know the statistics, but I suspect that suicide is common for wheelchair-bound people. Considering how active Brian was before his accident, I suspect that he would have been especially prone to depression.

This was my first thought as well, but I hope we're wrong. :(

Suicide is of course a possibility. Maybe family and friends suspect this and that's why it is so quiet?

But the esplanade runs very close to the water, it looks like a steep, rocky drop in places, lots of green too. I can't make out whether there are any barriers or fences. He could have fallen down. I hope they have searched down there.

Whatever the case I'm puzzled by the lack of reports about searches! I've searched fb and twitter, and msm. Nothing at all.

Just came across this case and I haven't had a chance to read everything, so can anyone tell me if his wheelchair is missing as well? TIA

Yes that seems to be the case. As I understand it, he was last seen sitting in it and driving down the esplanade.

I wonder what may be going on. The fb links for his missing poster by GigTu and Elainera are not abe to be accessed. Takn down?

That is odd. If someone has time to go through the facebook pages they were posted on, they might find an explanation. I did some looking but ran out of time.

I looked through one of the fb pages dedicated to him, but did not see any updates.

I've been looking for anything on Brian I can find, to help figure out what's going on. My best guess so far is depression. :( It's a terrific tragedy that a young man so full of life was stricken by a vehicle running a red light while he was 'safely' crossing the street - and left paraplegic.

Brian seems like such a well loved man. He's fun, adventurous, interesting, good looking. He's married and has a baby. I'm just sad he is missing and I hope he is okay.

Heres an article showing just how fun he is.

In tandem Brian and Hanne Duncan leaving their ceremony in Prairie Village, Kan.

Hanne and Brian Duncan of Philadelphia, fans of bicycling, met at a race, and their second date was a 60-mile ride. So it seemed fitting for them to leave their wedding last August at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kan., on a tandem. Guests rang bicycle bells as they rode off.

Mrs. Duncan pedaled in her billowing white gown and three-inch pink-and-orange heels. “I practiced beforehand,” she said.

Even so, part of the dress dragged and was streaked with black. “I knew that if my wedding dress didn’t show evidence of a good time,” she said, “then it wasn’t a fun wedding.”

More pics of Brian, and the story on his amazing attitude and recovery after his accident.

I pray this man is okay. I'm really drawn to his story and sympathetic to his situation. I just really want him to be ok, but I feel he is not. :(
