Ok I've read back a few pages and suspect she's a controlling manipulator. (unless she has multiple personalities and that's the dominant one)

"Greg Smith had been battling to see his girls since Jessica Smith left Goldendale in April and moved with their daughters to the Vancouver (WA) area,"

http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-n...f/2014/08/authorities_plan_to_give_updat.html

So Jessica moved to Vancouver WA in April. The girls were to be reunited with their father in Goldendale WA on Friday. Looking at a map I see that Cannon Beach is in the opposite direction of Goldendale where the father lives. In my opinion, mom had no intention of returning the daughters.

Thanks for the map! I went out to Florence in the last few days and was wondering where this happened in relation to where I was while I was up there.

I have so many words to say about this woman and her actions, but no way of doing that constructively.

I wish AS a beautiful life. I wish her father peace of mind. That is all I can say now because of TOS!

What is wrong with this woman? Look at those precious children, to think she killed the little one and tried with the older one......she must be mental!

She does not look right in the eyes, IMO - even in her older photos. And the smiling and peaceful expressions after she has committed these atrocities and gone to jail for them is just bizarre! Her court order against her ex husband is also bizarre, and I'd love someone to analyze her peculiar handwriting on those documents (anyone here with that expertise?). But none of that is to excuse her for her actions, which are obviously wrong any which way.

I noticed the eyes too. I think as humans, let alone some of us are Mom's. We always want a "why", something that could explain killing your own child.

Her husband mentioned Jessica suffered abuse as a child. Not an excuse, but could have warped her early on in her life. I don't know, see I am trying to come up with reasons ...

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Court records suggest a woman accused of killing one of her two daughters raised them at home with little contact with outsiders.

Forty-year-old Jessica Smith has been charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter and trying to kill her 13-year-old daughter, who was found severely cut last week in a hotel room on the Oregon coast.

Agreed. As a Mom I find it unconscionable and practically unimaginable to kill one's own child, or any child for that matter. I can't even imagine neglecting one's child, as in the case of Jarrod Turko Jr, and being able to live with yourself. It's clear Jessica Smith had issues, which could have been borderline personality disorder, narcissism, or PTSD from abuse, or maybe even a combination of those. The connection I have with my kids could never allow me to do something like she did, and I went through a divorce that was just as bad as hers, probably much worse.

I haven't seen this article before. It describes the scene in the hotel when LE first arrived :(

Thank button is not enough for this link Lovejac. I am beyond grateful AS was in the care of this Police Chief and the rest of the professionals who helped to ensure she made it onto LifeFlight towards safety.

May she continue on, healing each day. I pray for her to find the strength she needs. Her baby sister is an angel now, bless her beautiful little soul! :rose:

May :justice: prevail in this case!

:praying:

*Warning article has some disturbing details *

Thirteen-year-old (name removed) told Life Flight medics as she was airlifted from Cannon Beach to a Portland trauma hospital on Aug. 1 that her mother drowned her 2-year-old sister and then helped the teen slit her throat and wrists.

She told the medics that their father was seeking custody of her sister and her, but they didn't want to live with him.

I didn't think I could be more disgusted with this woman. But after that article I am

She brainwashed poor A and she couldn't brainwash poor Isabella so she drown her :( I hope and pray that AS is receiving intensive therapy

In the notes, Jessica Smith indicated that she had planned to use the same method as A -- describing it as "opening her veins'' -- to kill herself, but she didn't have the "time or strength after assisting Alana,'' detectives said in one of the affidavits.

Jessica Smith, according to police, also wrote: "baby didn't suffer as she fell asleep in the water.''

AS later told authorities that her mother had given her a double dose of a Nyquil-like sleep aid or other medication as a "numbing agent'' before helping her cut herself, according to police.

"On the day before the girls were found, Jessica Smith had sent a 15-page letter about their "horrible marriage'' via email to her husband's colleagues at a Klickitat County health clinic, where he worked as a radiology manager, Gregory Smith told detectives.

Gregory Smith responded to his colleagues with an email, apologizing about bringing his personal matters into the workplace, investigators said."

Yikes, I hope he called police.

What a mother loser.

She wanted to kill herself the same way as A, but was too exhausted after "helping" her daughter try to kill herself, at the same time rendering aid to the injured daughter. Sure. Right, A wouldn't let her call 911.

The baby didn't suffer - she just fell asleep in the water.

Throw away the key.

http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today...-attack-on-kids-smiles-winks-at-plea-hearing/

A Washington woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter before trying to slit her teenage daughter’s throat has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder.

Jessica Smith appeared by video in Clatsop County Circuit Court in Oregon on Tuesday.

She smiled throughout the hearing. When asked whether she understood she would not be released before a Sept. 30 court date, she winked.
