Maybe LE is on to someone in that area from computer records.

After the show, I'll have to see where that is...I've never heard of it!!!

I wish we knew if there was any dampness in the vacuum cleaner, I really think she did the vacuuming that she broke her necklace and folded the throw rug, ran the vacuum, and showered leaving a soaking wet carpet. Mother doesn't thing she did, but for some reason I do. The only reason I could see the suspect running it would be to cover foot prints in the carpet, because the evidence would be in the vacuum of anything he left behind.

Prep here would also know the mothers routine, he knew she wouldn't be coming back. I am with you I think this is a local person maybe even someone she worked with. I find it kind of strange her work waits till noon to call and say she didn't come to work, like didn't they miss her till then.

Okay, I found Burnt Mountain and it is WAY east of where Jayme went missing! It is east of Roseburg, which would be the biggest "city" nearby.

  • #145
The nearest town to Burnt Mountain is a small town called "Glide". Oh I am curious about this...

Kim check it is this the right area?

if you watch the ng video I linked above Nancy (as usual) interrupted the mother as she was giving details on the bathroom :banghead: all I could make out when she was not being loudly talked over was that someone had been in her bathroom and used the shower... and the carpet was wet all the way across the room to the counter (on other side of bathroom).....

Thanks Nancy...

Hi Nurse, We all want to know every little tidbit we can, but I thought LE didn't want any info out about the condition of the bathroom :waitasec:

Guess I am an old fuddy duddy, but I think that is irresponsible reporting since LE put the word out through Jayme's mother about the condition of the bathroom. Now we know the water was all the way across the room from the shower to the counter and there were signs of a struggle.

I am sure there are other things they are not letting out at all about that room and it's condition. I just want them to have something that is totally QT so they can nail the perp when they discover who he/she is. xox xox

And a Krams to you Nurse as I haven's talked to you in a coon's age ;}

HERE’S A DETAILED RUNDOWN:

- NOVEMBER 9, 2009: Jayme called her mother, Cindy, Monday morning at 8:15 a.m. because she was having problems with her water at her home. Jayme lives on the same property as her mother, only .17 miles away. Cindy, Jayme, Jayme’s sister, and their grandmother have houses on the ranch property. Jayme lives inside her home with her two daughters who are 12, and 4, and her dog and cat. Jayme works at Oregon Satellite in town.

- 12-noon: Jayme usually works from 9 – 6 p.m. everyday, and she called her employer on the morning of November 9th to say she was going to be late because she did not have running water. Jayme’s employer called Cindy at noon to see if she had seen her. Cindy had not seen her daughter yet, so she told the manager she would start checking around.
- Cindy’s first call was to Jayme’s best friend to see if she spoke with her at all that morning, but the friend had not heard from Jayme. This was odd, because Jayme talked to this friend at least 10 times a day. Cindy then called her husband and asked him to take the gravel road home (there are two roads to get in and out of town, one is paved and one is gravel). Cindy thought that maybe Jayme was stranded.

- Cindy who is a volunteer firefighter/EMT called on some of her friends and relatives in the fire service to help look for her daughter. Jayme’s cousin called around to see if there were any medical calls, and Cindy and friends started combing all the roads around to see if they could find her.
- 1:20 p.m. – A friend with the volunteer fire department stopped by Cindy’s house, and said he found Jayme’s car there. It was pouring down raining at the time, Jayme’s window was down, the car was soaked, and the keys were left inside the vehicle. He checked the house, but could not find Jayme.

- 1:25 p.m. – Cindy arrived back at her house, searched frantically, and then realized the bathroom was in disarray and it was not how she left it. Cindy cannot go into too many details because of the on-going investigation, but what she could tell me was that there were items around that weren’t how she left them, she describes it as “disturbed.” Then, she looked down at the floor and noticed that someone vacuumed her rug in the bathroom. This is odd because it’s a thick, emerald green carpet, and Cindy had not vacuumed it since Saturday. The vacuume was placed back in the closet.
- Cindy says she went down to Jayme’s house to see if she was there, and as soon as she walked in, she knew something was terribly wrong. Jayme’s cell phone was plugged into the wall, and if you know Jayme, you would know that she would not go anywhere without her cell phone. In addition, since Jayme works for Oregon Satellite, she always has top of the line equipment. This is a brand new $700.00 phone that she kept with her at all times. Cindy says the dog and the cat were on her bed, and no one was there.

- Cindy says, “When I saw the cell phone, I said that is wrong, something is wrong.” Cindy immediately called the police, and they put her through to the officer.
- Cindy says Jayme does have an on again, off again boyfriend. She’s been seeing him for six years now, and he is the father of her youngest daughter. She says he is out at sea for his work, and is not around. Cindy also confirms police are looking and questioning other people who know her.

I hope local LE is asking for help. I shouldn't bash the town I grew up in, but they don't have the best track record for handling crime scenes.

Maps:

Several times I used 444 Elm (SM's house) as a jumping off point since there was some traffic to/from there.

As you will see, this is a SMALL town and everything is very close together, where LF started to walk and was last seen near Hunter's/Oregon Federal Credit Union, as well as the businesses mentioned by witnesses where NM was seen (Denny's Pizza and Fast Mart). NM maintains he and BB were "driving around" looking for LF up and down Central Blvd.

SM's house at 444 Elm to LF's house, 1173 N Knott This is the route LF was supposedly taking, and the route NM "searched" for LF

SM's to BB's grandparent's home, 2008 N Fir (turns into and also called Dean Minard Road).

North Elm off West Central, where one of LF's Nike shoes was found, this is on the route to/from BB's grandparents home.

BB's to NM's home, 56246 Baker Road

SM's to McKay's Market and Hunter's Restaurant on North Central (used an approx address for Hunter's since I think the name has changed). This was where LF was last seen alive by witnesses. Fast Mart, where NM is seen in the maroon Thunderbird later on, is between McKay's and Hunter's on the same side of the street.

North Central to Lee Valley Road where LF's body was found (they say Milepost 1.5 so this is an estimate, by mapquest it is 1.4 miles down LVR)

SM's to Denny's Pizza, where DF says NM came in twice to speak with her.

Hi Chicago, What a jewel you are! I wanted to find out where Leah Freeman was found so went back, discovered your post and everything is there. How neat!

The reason is people in certain locals often think in similar ways from what I have seen in life. We might find that in rural area bodies are disposed of off logging roads like has happened in other timbered areas, like SW Washington. It is a natural dumping ground with roads leading into isolated areas, they are often graveled and seldom traveled except by hunters or mushroom pickers at the right time of year.

Leah was found 9 miles from her home in Rock Prarie Park and the body was found down an incline. Last night I read another link saying it was at the end of a logging road, just a bit more specific but can't locate that link tonight.

A serial killer out of Aberdeen Wa disposed of a body in a similar way out of Cosmopolis. Another lady was found not far away disposed of in the same type location, off a logging road. An Oriental gal was left dead off a logging road out of Elma Wa, her body down a walkable embankment, a plaid shirt left hanging on a tree branch nearby. It took many years till she was discovered, like 8 or so.

I haven't even researched to see all the cases where bodies have been left off logging roads in the Pacific Northwest, but if Jayme has died I would think they might find her in a similar type setting. Naturally I want to have her found alive and brought back home to her family. We all do.

So that was a lot of words to not say much. LOL Sorry about that. But now I want to go exploring to see what this area is like about 50 miles away. Wonder if there are logging roads there?

PS: Thanks to everyone who is here working their hearts out to sleuth Jayme's case. Every single post helps. xox

So, Burnt Mtn is about halfway to Roseburg OR, on
some little known roads.
I have gone over the coast from Sutherlin, OR, off the I-5 freeway, but
I have not been on any of the roads listed.

Something must have led LE to that area.
Pretty remote.

Chicago, what do you know of Burnt Mtn??? Do the kids party there or anything?

  • #156
but if broken pieces of the necklace were found by mom (the quote was from mom) I don't see mom going thru her vacuum... I see her looking at broken pieces and knowing something was amiss (and she was not supposed to talk about the bathroom scene per le but let some leak out on ng)

this is a strange case!

This case is reminding in some ways of Somer's where people were not where they were supposed to be and no one should have known they were there etc... I'm wondering what was wrong with her water? Did they check that out or did someone know she would go to mom's. IDK it's weird.

ACK! You "dun good"! I had the WRONG Burnt Mtn. and when I realized it, my phone rang and I had to leave!

O my I did something right today, yeppy.

  • #158
OH great! I posted this new post above on the wrong thread, wanting it to be on Jayme's thread.

If a Mod sees this would you please move my post above in response to Chicago. I would but my mouse is being snarky and won't c & p. xox

I wouldn't say they party there, but I'm not in the loop!! I only go home a few times a year. :)

Burnt Mountain is listed as a "recreation area" on my google map. I blew it up and the access roads are so complicated. This takes me back to a local, and not just anyone, but someone who hunts/fishes/camps/4-wheels?? This isn't somewhere I would go without a GPS!

Plus there are a lot of small roads out there interconnecting all the little rural areas. If you are a local but haven't been out that way, you might get lost. For example, the Coos Bay Wagon Road (yes, it is really was an old wagon road, I've been on it) goes all the way to Roseburg throught the boonies, unpaved. You would NEVER travel this way unless you purposely wanted to go for a drive. It might look fairly simple on a map but it is extremely rural.
