No, the article said Kaine requested that.

searchers also have responded to requests from Kyron’s father, Kaine, about areas where the boy may be, including a horse pasture in Banks, which was searched Sunday.

this is right underneath the easter pic.

My first thoughts about the horse pasture were not that Kyron would wander off and want to go there, but that someone troubled, who may have a horse there, may have done something to Kyron and disposed of him there. Who would Kaine be worried about that has a connection there?

:woohoo::Welcome-12-june::woohoo:

Good thinking...Glad to have you with us.

I'm happy to be here! And learning so much, very smart people here. My thought was that this may have been a crime of opportunity. Someone shows up, chaotic day at the school, confusion surrounding supervision, and a vehicle that could easily conceal a child... Grasping for straws, perhaps... but want this little guy found!

O.k., I guess I should've kept going with what I was thinking. Maybe SM or someone else hit him with their car killing him. They freaked out, put him in the car and disposed of his body somewhere else. Just a theory that I haven't seen yet.

I asked about this, too. It's very possible.

My thoughts exactly.

Forgive me, I'm a rookie here...but has anyone heard information on delivery vehicles on school property? Perhaps delivering food, supplies, mail, packages? I know our school receives deliveries daily, and at various times. Was just wondering if a delivery person that the children see on a regular basis could gain the childrens' trust? Could a delivery person ask a child for assistance, and a child follow them to the parking lot? A regularly scheduled delivery would not likely draw suspicion... Just wondering, again, I'm just a rookie here and have a LOT to learn from you "master sleuths."

A few days I looked into the types of food they get delivered. Oregon has a Farm to School program that was pretty interesting. One website suggested that some school districts might have someone buy the food at a farmers market and bring it to the schools, and some might have food brought to the schools directly from the farms. Each district is different, and I am not sure if this school has these done weekly or monthly like some.

Seriously? Wow I did not know that. No one has mentioned this as a theory either. I need to think about that.
Boy, it's hard to believe that living here in Portland, not to say it isn't true.

yes, idk. maybe

at about 4:00-4:02 it almost looks like the dad says something to her and she rolls her eyes.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. She sighs and gives in to whatever comfort or words he offerred her. Rolling eyes up can be relief. It can also be exasperation.

And so if you freeze frame it like that, she kinda looks like Linda Blair and I suppose next her head will spin around and stuff. :innocent:

Perhaps we could balance that with a more flattering freeze-frame of this couple? Just sayin'. ;)

Or perhaps she is emotionally drained and looking up to heaven asking for strength.
possibly... who knows... with each thing that gets posted, everyone has 10 different views on it.

Twenty-five people from Lane County arrived early Thursday morning to help search on mounted horses and on foot. Crews from Lane County and those from Southern Oregon will remain in Portland through Sunday.

"His dad came down and talked to us, it was very emotional," recalls Lt. Rowland. "The searchers are just dedicated, morale is very high."

These dedicated searchers are hoping, as time goes on, that the search operation does not become a recovery effort.

Bless the searchers.

As for someone accidentally hitting him and freaking out and concealing it, I think it is just as good a possibility as everything else in this case.

I have also thought of maybe Kyron, going back to the car while sm is in the school and getting in the car. Maybe the bed of the truck if they took the truck. Idk if it has kid locks on the doors of whichever vehicle she was in. I know it is kind of far fetched, but what if he was embarrassed of going to the talent show, and went and got back in the vehicle and laid where he couldn't be seen.

I am not sure of the temperature that day but could he have got stuck in the car while she was running errands? Could he have got in the car then she accidentally hit him somewhere else, not knowing he was with her in the car, then she panicked. What if he was in the bed of the truck because he didnt want to stay at school.

Could he possible tried to get out of the bed of the truck and something happened? :banghead:

I don't know what is possible and what is not possible anymore in this case. I just hope and pray he is found safe and very soon.

I will hold my tongue on the SM's body language at the press conference, but I will say it was very very comforting even to me, to see the step dad and the bio dad hug like they did.

lol, true.

I just got that one, with about 8 others from earlier... and then someone mentioned it, so I linked it.

I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but a child could also be put in a janitors cart. Our janitors had these carts with large bags attached to them for all the trash. He could have been wheeled out in one of them unnoticed too. I am sure that LE is checking everyone's background but I understand that unlike FL or other states you don't have sex offenders who register, only if they are predators. Would a sex offender be able to get a job at a school? Or a grounds keeper? It is more likely that the person didn't have a record in this area or they wouldn't be working there, but some offend and don't get caught until something like this.

Boy, it's hard to believe that living here in Portland, not to say it isn't true.

The child sex/trafficking topic has had a lot of press this year, well, as much as the laid off staff at the O-gonian can keep up with.
It's not always what it 'sounds' like; the problem here is fairly specific to teen and older girls and is 50/50 split between children born in the US and immigrants.
This is a recent story that explains more and discusses solutions.

How To Learn More About A Tough Topic: Human Trafficking

IMO, while hideous, it has no bearing on this case.

Is it possible that Kyron forgot something in the car, ran out to get it just as SM was leaving, and there was an accident? Just throwing ideas out there.
Possibility Recovering, But in that case I think there would be evidence on the pavement or car. I would think they would have checked all of that out. :waitasec:

Does anyone know more about the camping trip the SB and his dad were on? Where it was? Does the SB live in Roseburg?

911 calls can be very telling. The police have a checksheet they use to help them determine if the caller had something to do with the emergency being reported: if the caller asks for help for himself first instead of the vic "Help me! My husband's been shot in the head!", if the caller blames the vic for being injured, etc. Pretty neat.

Absolutely!!!

The husband made an interesting comment:

"The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school."

Could this imply there would be two 911 calls? :waitasec:

BBM. For God's sake, it's been 8 days today. How long do they think a little guy like that can live IF he's out where they're searching?

I'm glad to hear their morale is high, but I don't understand WHY it would be. Doesn't day 8 mean anything to these people?

Wouldn't someone that is hit by a car leave blood? At the least, the dogs would hit on that kind of intense body evidence in terms of massive amounts of skin or whatever would be shed.

The SM rolling her eyes back- I have done that to not cry.

I am guessing that Kyron has gone to a horse ranch riding. The older brother is into horses, so it would seems like they are a horse family.

Maybe the Dad thought there was someone weird associated with the horse ranch. Someone that left him with a bad feeling.

Or maybe that's a place they have gone and suggested it as a search option.
