OR - Kyron Horman, 7 yo Second grader, Portland, 4 June 2010 - Part #10

I remember that early articles said the school called the non-emergency police number, not 911.
I can't recall at the moment if the stepmom called 911, or if the school said they'd handle it.

I was wondering if that was the case. I worked with local LE and keep the non-emergency number for calls. I do that in case "it's really nothing" and I don't want to tie up the line or be routed through dispatch. So, that particular school may have that number because so many things can happen that you need checked that end up being a non-emergency in the end. Especially with children that can do the most unpredictable things and scare you to death!

Time is sure running out.

Do you remember with Nadia? By day 4 or 5, there was a definite intensity, lots of news articles and news reports on tv/video with a fear and anxiety because time was running out for her. That anxiety/intensity increased. I had a knot in my stomach - a growing knot - with each report. There was *almost* a panic to find her before it was too late.

The same with the little girl in the mountains. I think she was 4 yrs old. Found at the last minute, half conscious, under some brush. I feel terrible I can't remember her name. Beautiful little girl. Her time was shorter because she was younger and the weather/environment there. Intense anxiety to find her quickly.

There's none of that. Not a single word of how long Kyron could still be alive if he's out and about.

It could be LE put a lid on that with reporters. Told them not to sensationalize it.

It's an oddity to me.

Someone posted earlier about alerting the FBI to a youtube video. I can't remember where the post was, or who posted it,but I am curious as to what that video was about and what it had to do with Kyron? I think it was either darlin gal or mamaeb who posted it.

this video.. at about 1:07 it looked like it could be him

...such a long shot, but FBI called to follow up after I left a tip

I should not answer this because I'm not absolutely positive, but I got the impression that it was the Asian woman and child in the SUV. Several people thought the child looked like Kyron, but the video came from a law enforcement checkpoint in front of his school.

Speaking of his school, did it turn out to be a public school he attended or a private (pastoral) school?

i think they should completely reconstruct the scene, especially who was parked where and see if that stirs up some memories of something someone might have seen. Get all those people back out there and in the places they were during the tiny window of opportunity this child went missing.

I totally agree with this! I think it would bring up things people may have forgotten about.

I have absolutely no idea what to think about this case anymore. I used to think LE was being tight-lipped because they had a solid theory and didn't want to tip anyone off. Now I think they really don't have any idea what happened.

When they brought the clothes out today, I thought it seemed more like something you would do on day 1 or 2. I'm so confused!

Watching the family statement today, all I want to do is give bio-mom a big, long hug. Seeing her there makes me want to do even more to support finding Kyron. I wish I knew where to send her a letter of support.

Excellent thought BB, It does solve cases. Remember the scuba diving newlyweds in Aussiland? A reconstruction solved that case as they discovered if she started sinking down in the water from the spot that he said, she would have landed up in a different location. Ya Ya

All for you, Kyron. You're important to us.

It was a video shot by reporters of people driving by the school, and one car had a little buy who looked like Kyron in the front seat, with an Asian looking woman with black gloves driving.

Parents of Missing Kyron Horman: 'Keep Up the Hope'

"We want to say how much we appreciate the outpouring of love and support as we wait for you," said the boy's stepfather, Tony Young. "Until you come home we are not a family."

"Please, Kyron," Young said, hoping to speak directly to the missing first grader, "keep up the hope. We believe in you."

dont give up hope....remember the case of the little boy who was taken after his family was tied up...in CA...he was missing for two weeks.....he was found alive in mexico :)

the way the LE is handling this with not giving to much info.....reminds me of that case
Oh yes, I'll never forget it. Thanks TakeNote as it is a perfect example which can give us more hope he is still OK. xox

I really, really hope the SM doesn't post here. This is her child, for all intents and purposes, and the constant speculation that she hurt him is uncalled for and not ok by me. I am done with this for a while.

Can anyone tell me is there an area where it is lower income many cars not running and home in need of repair, close to Kyrons School?

I think there was no 911 call. Stepmom called the school when Kyron wasn't on the bus. School did a quick search of the school, and then called the non-emergency police number.

He was supposed to be dropped off at the school bus stop near his house at about 3:45 p.m. When he didn't show up, Moulton Horman called the school, deputies said.

School administrators conducted a quick search of the school, deputies said, and they called the non-emergency dispatch line to report Kyron as missing.

That makes sense. Stepmom probably waited on the line while they went to check his classroom, and they came back and said they would call LE.

Thanks for the research - I was going to get that done tonight, but you did!

So, there is no 911 call. We can cross that off the rumor list. Put it on the FAQ :)

OK it seems like a bit of discrepancy then isn't there, where the father says:

"The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school."

Strange none the less IMO.
