I don't agree that they have reason to believe he is alive. I think they have HOPE, of course, but the places and the method of searching denotes to me that they are looking for his body. Also the fact they are searching in such diverse locales as near the school and family home and off on that island or wherever, tells me they are A. sticking to theory that he might be close to place last seen AND B. still following possible tips. And this, to me, means they have no idea where he is, what may have happened or if he is alive or not.

Of course they may have a POI in mind, but have no idea what this person did with Kyron and are just desperately trying to cover everyplace that POI was or may have been on that day. We all leave so many traces these days of our movements.

Yes, I think so too. And apparently they don't think they went far either.

I wonder if that was around the time the two teachers saw him with the SM and thought they left together?

Wow! I've never seen that two teachers saw Kyron with his stepmother and thought they left together.

Got a link for that?

TIA

Question for our locals. Do you guys have "traffic cams" on intersections and/or highways? I know living in the urban mecca that I do - you can trace a car from intersection to intersection just by the traffic cams. Is that possible there? Could LE have traffic cams and/or store cams that possibly picked up a "certain car" travels and direction?

I wonder if that was around the time the two teachers saw him with the SM and thought they left together?

I know people have bashed the teachers for just "assuming" he left with SM and marking him absent, but I think they must have had very good reason to believe it to the point they simply thought no more about it. I don't think they just assumed it - they believed it.

I agree this particular area of questions and related "hearsay versions" are very troubling in about 6 different ways.

I take heart in knowing that these teachers were grilled by LE/FBI, as has been Terri and all the children in Kyron's class. I'm confident they have the answers to these questions.

In one of the more recent Press Conferences the sherrif expressed extreme frustration (paraphrasing) that this is not like the child wandered off while in the woods or while in a store and that "school is supposed to be one of the safest places a child can be except home"

LE has these answers. We don't. We get to wait to see what they're going to do next with the info they have, and that's all we can do. Except this maybe: :banghead::banghead::banghead:

This is a victim family forum, and I can think of a lot of victims in this case... Kyron is only one of them. Imagine the guilt SM must feel being the one who dropped Kyron off that day. I agree with all those that say she looked like a grieving parent as much as the rest of them during that PC. The police have NOT released and suspects, and that includes Terri.

Quoting my own post (kinda like talking to yourself - lol)

This is so intriguing to me.

Maybe LE not cofirming this 9 AM sighting and the by who and where is key. IF LE thinks someone has him - did this "someone" make "eye contact" with the WHO saw Kyron? If so, maybe that is why LE won't confirm this - it would "tip their hand" so to speak. As well as the "where" this sighting took place - again would "tip the hand" as to who they are looking at and also possibly put the who saw it at risk.

Thoughts?

BBM

I think they have some idea of what transpired at least a working theory. The step dad, if he was in LE knows what is going on, and I would think, he wants his wife, family and the other side spared of details. JMO.

I feel like someone saw an opportunity and took him. It is 8 days, at some point if you wondered in the woods, you would wonder out or at least find a road, something. If someone took him, it would most likely be by car or truck, not on foot. A predator that would kill, would have left his body near by the crime scene and it would most likely be withing a few days. Just something I read and learned from this site and other cases. He may have been taken and driven out of the area, but he could also have gotten away, and lost, anything is possible. They haven't found his glasses or cloths, so that is great news. I usually think the worst after this length of time, but I still have a bit of hope he out there, trying to find his way back.

Kyron Horman search begins ninth day as searchers again gear up

photo4jpg-2c55a19098858bda_large.jpg
Keven Rowse, a searcher from Clackamas County, arrives this morning at a staging area near Northwest Skyline Road, a little less than a mile from Skyline Elementary School. BrandonLiggett of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office checks credentials at the gate to a quarry, where searchers are gathering before beginning the ninth day of searching for Kyron Horman.

As the haze lifted from the pockets of forest along Skyline Road this morning, search and rescue teams began another day of looking for missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

Search teams began combing the steep grassy hillside along US 30 and the rail line beside it.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's office rescheduled the daily noon press briefing to 2 p.m., saying that would enable them to provide a more detailed briefing.

brandi, While a timestamp may not find Kyron, timestamps are one of the biggest tools LE has for investigative purposes. Finding Kyron is not the only important issue here. If a crime has been commited here, where and when everyone has been is absolutely important to solving the case and bringing justice to Kyron.

In the pics on last thread, if they believe him to be alive, why are they searching such dangerous areas, ditches, quarry and a pond?

Well, I think they want to "leave no stone unturned" so to speak. It may also be wishful thinking on my part.

Does anyone know: at what point does a search mission become a recovery mission? Is it a set amount of time; do they need clues to point to the child being deceased, etc.? What is the criterion?

another thought - many witnesses in this case could be young children. :(

If I was wrong to post the 🤬🤬🤬 thing, I am sorry. I am just wanting so badly to find answers I can get carried away easily. I will try to control myself in the future, mods.

:hug: I think it can be said that alot of us have been guilty of this at one (or more) point (case) or another. Your very humbled words can apply to all of us;

We all want so badly to find answers but sometimes, because of that, we can easily get caught up and carried away. We all need to be aware of that and try to control ourselves better.

oh I have to agree with you on that!

Unfortunately ... thinking of an example of this brings me back to Casey Anthony's facebook evidence that we spent months pouring over. omg

Well shoot, still no sign of Kyron I see, and no new news, were in the heck is he?? I REALLY think he was lured away, I told my husband about this case this morning while we were having coffee, he agrees with me, said it could happen in an instant, someone saw an oppertunity and took it, this is JMO and hubbys also:)

“It is our goal to get as many on the ground as possible, immediately, as certain that our time is, the clock is ticking,” he said.

I think we will soon learn more about when it will be a recovery effort. The time is very close. JMO

I sure hope the presser is a little later today because they actually can provide more information - and I hope it's good information.

I'd settle for SOME information. If I can't sleuth I hope they are.
