Just thinking in bed last night.

If someone saw Kyron with a person at the science fair, they might assume its a relative that came to look at the projects. If the last person who saw Kyron didn't recognize this person you can assume that LE would do a sketch and put it in the news. Since this hasn't taken place I'm thinking the last person who saw Kyron either recognize a person, or Kyron was not with anyone and that might be why LE is searching outside. I think at this time if they knew who strayed Kyron out they would of picked them up by now.. Since we haven't heard of abduction, no plea, no strangers that have be talked about, no sketch, no news whatsoever of any thing that points in that direction, I really think he went off. Why, I don't know. Maybe he went to see if SM was still there, forgot something, saw a butterfly and started to wander, got scared by an animal, on such an busy day, with all the excitement the daily schedule at school which helps kids stay in track could of made all this happen. He could of walked in a straight line for the 9 hours he went missing and covered miles and miles in a row. This is so tough. I hate to think he is out there all alone.

another thought - many witnesses in this case could be young children. :(
ITA - and the "possibility" that it was a child is great. With that, and my being a teacher in elementary schools for 15 years - IF it was a child that saw and IF the person with Kyron was a "known member" of the school community - then that child could possibly SAID something to that person (and/or Kyron) - not just "eye contact". Or if the person was not known to the child - then the child could have just said something to Kyron - KWIM? Or if the person with Kyron was another child ..........

This 9AM thing has me spinning in circles here.

Wow! I've never seen that two teachers saw Kyron with his stepmother and thought they left together.

Got a link for that?

TIA

""There was a science fair here at the school," Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby told CNN. "You had a situation with lots of parents and friends coming through the school, going class to class." "Kyron was here with his stepmother, seen with his stepmother," Shelby said. [29] The roof was also searched. Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby said two teachers saw Kyron with his stepmother and thought the two left school together. He said it was common for parents to pick up kids this way, so no suspicions were raised. [40]"

SM staging this elaborate scheme to show up at school with him in the morning and be seen and then take him out to do something to him later just doesn't set right with me. Normally, when a parent harms a child, it's not something they PLAN, it just happens in the heat of the moment and then it's all about the cover up.

Perhaps she took him home with her for whatever other reason (maybe they were going to go have breakfast before class started or maybe he told her he wasn't feeling well or something) and then there was an accident at home and she panicked?

Even that doesn't seem quite right, though, because why would she take him out of school without notifying someone. I've taken my kids home from school after stuff like the science fair, but never without telling a teacher or the office.

oh I have to agree with you on that!

Unfortunately ... thinking of an example of this brings me back to Casey Anthony's facebook evidence that we spent months pouring over. omg

It's so difficult though. While so many of us are open books anymore (what with facebook, myspace, etc.) it is also so easy for someone to hack into an account and post information, steal identities, etc. Not to mention the facebook glitches and viruses that pop up all the time. This is why looking to these sites for relevant info is so tenuous.

And that's not a criticism, btw, I have done it too. But the info is just wrong so much of the time. Occasionally it's right, but too often, it's misleading.

I wonder if that was around the time the two teachers saw him with the SM and thought they left together?

I know people have bashed the teachers for just "assuming" he left with SM and marking him absent, but I think they must have had very good reason to believe it to the point they simply thought no more about it. I don't think they just assumed it - they believed it.

BBM;
8:15 a.m. Gina Zimmerman, president of the school PTA, arrives and sees Kyron with his stepmother in front of his exhibit.

8:45 a.m. Terri Horman leaves after watching Kyron walk toward his classroom after touring the science fair.

9 a.m. Someone reports seeing Kyron at the school, but investigators won't say who or where. It's the last time anyone remembers seeing the boy.

10 a.m. Classes begin.

I don't see anything in the timeline that states this - Do you have a link? TIA.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but it's almost impossible to walk in a straight line unless you're trained to do so. One leg is stronger than the other, and eventually you end up walking in a circle - albeit a very large one.

That is how my child's school does it too, but looking at the pictures gave me the idea they may have had a different setup at Kyron's small school. The point is that by looking at his classroom it seems most are on animals and he was going down the hall to look at the ones on electricity.

Did his friend also state that he saw SM leaving without Kyron? I read that in his interview I think.

SM did not stay to tour the groups nor did she come back for the talent show. Maybe she was the one with the appointment and thats why she had to leave.

I also think that people are posting disclaimers such as "if this isnt okay please remove" because some of us are newbies and arent quite sure of the guidelines. Ive read them and I am still unsure if something I post is not acceptable.

Unless we are 100% certain someone is involved with a case then we cannot mention them or sleuth them...that within itself is confusing.
Why would we even need to sleuth if we can only post exactly what is being told by the media? We cant say anything that hasnt been confirmed because it can be taken as gossip. Therefore, we can only repeat what has been confirmed.
Please understand I dont mean this in any negative way at all. I swear. I just want others to see that its not as simple as black and white for all of us..some of us are colored grey..very confused. LOL

I totally agree with your analysis of the sleuthing situation.

I'd settle for SOME information. If I can't sleuth I hope they are.

You can sleuth to your heart's content - just parts of it may be against TOS to post here on WS.

This sounds promising, I hope that it is true and he is found and unharmed.

Emma, wonder if the older man has a beard

Gosh, Bern, IIRC this sighting was run down (Walmart photo) and it was negative - reported here somewhere. Can anyone remember that too?

:(

And, you did mean a beard, right? ;)

Yeah I have heard of that to. Thanks for reminding me.
Maybe he stopped and started over and over again and it just so happen to be in the same line. I doubt he walked 9 hours, and without stopping. if thats the case.

Omg I completely forgot that quote. Thank you so much, CharlestonGal!

Is Shelby the same one who said 'criminal investigation' at the presser and got cut off by LE?

Very true. Not to mention I don't think it's possible to walk in a straight line in that area without a really good compass. I don't believe Kyron could have gone far in his "wanderings" if that is indeed what he was doing. The SAR teams couldn't even make it from the school to the parents home (about 2 miles) in one day.

My best luck for the live feeds has been kgw.com. The presser today will be at 2pm. I'm on the east coast. That's a bit less than 3 hours from now for me.

No, that was the principal who said the criminal investigation thing. I can't remember his name.
