From what we have been told about Kyron, he reminds me of the kind of kid that I was at that age. I was somewhat quiet but had friends, and was the curious type but was not adventurous.
Someone earlier mentioned they asked their grandson if he would ever leave school while he was there and his eyes became very wide and said he would get in trouble for that. At that age I would have given the same reaction. Think back when you were 7 - the world was no bigger than your town and your parents and teachers were the "rulers". I would never dare go against the rules as it was "bad" and I would get in a lot of trouble. There would have been nothing to lure me away from the school building during a school day, as it would have made me feel very guilty and wrong and for good reason. It also would be scary, as it was outside the norm.
My point being, I don't think he would leave the comforts and rules of school to go looking for a frog, or something equally innocent and silly. If he actually did go to the forest of his own accord, it was because he was trying to run away from someone or something and that was the only direction he could go. I live near forests and they are creepy places, and I have always felt that way about them. They are no where near the size of the forests in Oregon, so I could only imagine the type of "unknown" scariness they instill upon the kids there.
What do I think happened? At this point, an alien abduction sounds as plausible as anything.
