I just want to say that in my mind the teacher is also a victim.

When my friend's child was kidnapped years ago never to be found, they told people to watch for crows or some other kinds of birds to be hovering over an area.

Aren't there those kinds of birds in Oregon?

I know it's grisly, but it would be something to watch for.

Vultures is what I think your referring too.

We recently saw how quickly they work. Someone apparently ran over one of our cats during the night. We saw the vultures from half a block away. I went down there with a shovel, they had already stripped half her body. I was afraid they were going to go after me.
RIP Jailbait the cat.

...(snipped)...
But I am now thinking there were at least 2 people involved in Kyron's disappearance and death and have a strong feeling it was murder for hire. ...(snipped)...

I pondered that briefly as well... What are your thoughts as to why someone would want little Kyron gone, though?

Posting again:

"Terri often volunteers at the school, working closely with Kyron's teacher, Kristina Porter. Shelby said that Porter saw Kyron in her classroom with his stepmom before 8:45 a.m. and another instructor reported seeing him in another classroom at some point."

Kyron's teacher saw SM and Kyron in her classroom that morning. I think that's as confirmed as it gets. Shelby is the school spokesperson.

Then why on earth would the teacher mark him absent??? I'm putting myself in this teacher's shoes-I see Kyron, I see his SM. Some time goes by I check attendance, I see Kyron's name-he's not there.. At that point I would ask myself....where is Kyron??? He was just here. If she thought he was in the bathroom or still at the science fair she wouldn't of marked him absent. If she wasn't told Kyron was not going to be there the rest of the day then the only thing that makes a little bit of sense to me is she was in a hurry, distracted looked up didn't see Kyron marked him absent and just temporarily forgot that she just saw him and his SM.

I just don't believe that SM would tell the teacher he was going to be gone and then act like she expected him to be at school all day and on the bus. There would be proof that she told the teacher Kyron wasn't going to be there. That doesn't make sense.

...(snipped)... For about 8 years, I have been encouraging every parent I know to read the book Protecting the Gift by Gavin deBecker (I'm sure many of you know of it) so we can keep our children safe without unnecessarily frightening them or taking away the fun/innocence of childhood....(snipped)...

Welcome! And, YES! Another fan of Protecting the Gift.... I've posted about it multiple times here. It has impacted my parenting decisions, for sure...

and I think the teachers assuming he just left with her is wrong........I just cant see a teacher doing this......and as I recall werent the backpack and coat still there

the backpack and coat were there, but they were on hooks with 20 other backpacks and coats - it seems a lot to expect a teacher to be able to, at a glance, match all those up with each of her present/absent students, especially while trying to teach a class...

If the child was going to an appointment his jacket would not have been in the classroom.

Well, let me just say... regardless of what my heart tells me... I have to say that... It is possible with a 1 y/o to know that anything between 12-4 could be trouble! So, I usually try to keep my 18 month old and my 29 month old home between those times, to save my (and other people's) sanity!

That being said, my husband and I BOTH attend every single one of our children's appointments, special events, etc. We are both always there and have been since I knew I was pregnant.

I am so confused. I have an aunt and a best friend who are better mothers to their step children than the children's mothers are. My best friend's stepchild is with her 3 1/2 weeks out of 4 and the bio mom calls her to ask what size he wears. My best friend is only 24. The bio mom is nearly 30.

I feel like a fool. One second, I think to myself that I should think about and respect the reasons why a family member is not involved. The next, I feel stupid for feeling that way!

I just want to say that whoever hurt him, or took him would not be in the right mind, IMO So I could also see someone not in the right mind lying to someone else or lying to LE about what they did or didn't say that day

Hi Bernie40! Welcome to Websleuths!!!

Wanted also to check in with everyone. I heard some chit chat about this case from local people today and when I asked for back up, the information was incorrect and I sadly realized that we are moving to the embellishment stage. :(

I'm very thankful that on Websleuths we don't allow rumors. And thankful I was able to dispel the incorrect information because of what we are doing here. :grouphug:

:praying: Where is Kyron?

SM did not say anything I know of about 150 feet. It was reported in a news article that came out right after the media was given a tour by LE of the school and Kyron's classroom that the point at which SM and Kyron parted was 150 feet from his classroom. The article did not provide the source of that information.

I've never seen anything where SM said anything about Kyron and a drink of water. A child reported in a videotaped interview that a teacher or substitute said that perhaps Kyron had gone to the bathroom or to get a drink of water.

The articles are in Kyron's media thread. You can search the thread for them. I'm pretty sure I pasted in both 150 feet and water, so you could use those as key words to search.

He was last seen by his step-mother walking toward his classroom only 150 feet away.
I'm sorry. I took this to read that he was walking to his classroom and it was 150 feet away. Meaning she herself was some distance from Kyron as well. It could be percieved as both SM and Kyron were 150 feet away from the classroom together and he turned to go to that destination. Ugh, even the facts make my head spin. LOL

Also, the child they interviewed (Tanner, I believe) said the sub noticed Kyron was missing and the regular teacher said he was possibly getting a drink if water. If either of those were told of the rumored appointment then I would hope they would say "oh no, thats right, XZ had an appointment today"

How disturbing!

The FBI released this in the Kayleah Wilson case. It is informative.

*Check and look along road sides, back roads, fields, dump areas that you may know about in the county or in the towns or areas you drive to or live near. These may be areas that you routinely drive, walk, run, jog, etc. Check any ditches or areas that are typically hard to see when driving by at high speeds. Other potential areas to check are under bridges, in abandoned barns or structures that are not normally occupied, abandoned vehicles, etc.

*If you notice a suspicious odor in an area, or see activities in or around abandoned homes or property; if you happen to see circling birds or gathering predators, like coyotes in or around an area, check it out to see if it is safe, or contact the local law enforcement agency near you to have it checked out.

*If you own property that is not currently occupied, check it out to make sure it is still secure and that everything inside is in order and as you expect it to be. If you know your neighbor is not home and you have permission to go on their property, check for any broken windows, doors, or suspicious activity or things that may appear out of place to you.

*If you live in a rural area and know your neighbors are gone for extended periods of time, drive by those areas and make note of any unusual cars, vehicles or things that appear out of place and are not consistent with what you are familiar with.

*If you live near an empty home or building, watch for any suspicious activity or unusual people or vehicles in or around the structure that are not normally there.

*Do NOT go in any buildings or homes that you do not own or trespass on private property, to search any areas.
If you see or suspect anything suspicious, do not attempt to pick it up, touch it or contaminate the immediate surrounding areas. If you leave the area before authorities arrive try to leave the same way you came in so other potential items are not disturbed or contaminated.

*If a suspicious incident is in progress and you are concerned for public safety always call 911

..... I had a meltdown about something totally minor last night - and then knew it was this case and that poor baby that should be home right now, playing with his hotwheels and eating ice cream.

God Bless you JulieAnne and all of the other WebSleuther's for caring! I mean really - we can't solve everything, but we CAN and DO care!!! We also learn from each and every case... and that may be of benefit to future cases.

Maybe the PC scheduled for tomorrow is really to announce an arrest. (just trying to change subject from talent show.)

The story about the stepmother telling the teacher that Kyron had an appointment hasn't been confirmed, nor has the story about an email. But if that did happen, LE definately knows about it and there would be an email as proof. The truth is, we have no clue as to what LE knows. I vacilate between thinking they know nothing or they know exactly what happened. I just have to have faith I guess. I live here and I want to beleive that we have a competent police force. When I see LE looking for Kyron I have to believe that they would look just as hard for my child if they went missing. There is a lot of pressure on them right now. The nation is watching. If they don't solve this then everyone will know. I guess what I am saying is that I am going to believe that this is solvable and LE knows exactly what they are doing.

Crows, too.
