OR - Kyron Horman, 7 yo Second grader, Portland, 4 June 2010 - Part #13

The family may very well be involved and I don't think that anyone thinks it is impossible or unheard of. Many have been around the block a few times on this forum and know that there are no rules as to who could potentially harm a small child.

Thank you for that.

I wonder who else was marked absent that day? I would hope that LE talked to the parents of the other kids who were marked "absent" right along with Kyron, and where those kids were. There may be other kids whose parents thought they were at school all day and weren't.

Interesting thought. Thanks for that.

The sex offender conversation is interesting, but could we possibly move it somewhere more appropriate?

Well actually I think it is a possibility that Kyron could have been taken by a sex offender.

It is certainly a violable possibility imo.

IMO

These statistics are absolutely flawed imo.

Excerpt:
Myth:
"The majority of sexual offenders are caught, convicted, and in prison."

Fact:
Only a fraction of those who commit sexual assault are apprehended and convicted for their crimes. Most convicted sex offenders eventually are released to the community under probation or parole supervision.

Admittedly I don't have link to back this up, but I have read (and I only take seriously what I read on credible sites) that it is not unusual for a SO to have offended up to 100 times before getting caught. Offending can be as "simple" as peeping and spying it doesn't have to mean physical contact.

I wonder how, who, and when all this stuff is picked up? Friday seems like a logical choice.

"Skyline Elementary, Northwest Portland: Under Jill Inahara's leadership, the cafeteria replaced disposable trays with reusable trays that parent and student volunteers wash. Instead of throwaway "sporks," kids use metal utensils that Skyline families donated.

Students also sort lunch leftovers: Meat and cheese go into a bucket for a neighbor's pigs, while other table scraps go into a bucket that feeds a teacher's chickens. Cafeteria trash decreased enough for the school to eliminate a Dumpster, saving Portland Public Schools about $1,700 a year, Inahara said."

Yes, and I wrote her asking for a link for that bit of info since I couldn't find it anywhere else. She didn't reply. Do you happen to have one? Thanks!
per my post (that you snipped to omit ) if the information printed in MSM is shown to be inaccurate we will change the guidelines. This is true of any and all infomration that is quoted from MSM.
But to my knowledge there has been no mention of this one way or the other in subsequent reports.

:twocents: There are elements in this case that reminds me of several other cases. The Groene case - a child (children) are abruptly missing, and the family is naturally discussed as a potential suspect. In the Groene case, however, there was a violent murder of other family members. The sheer violence is what screamed someone who was close to the family. As far as I can tell, there is NO history of violence, drugs, calls to social services, etc. in Kyron's case. Susan Smith case and Devon Epps case - Susan's children were "taken by a stranger" and Amanda Raegan Smith's child Devon was murdered before her very eyes during an attempted carjacking by the proverbial "bushy headed stranger". Time revealed Susan and Amanda to be the culprits in the murder of their children. The body language of Susan and Amanda disturbed me during those investigations. I have to say I have the same "feelings" now... can't explain why. If the school was FULL of strangers the day Kyron went missing, the chances of a 'bad person' being among them naturally increased. The chances for someone, having seen Kyron walking out with a stranger, someone acting strange... something, should have also increased. Just my :twocents:.

Welcome to Kyron's thread. I've missed ya!

Hey guys..I think we are headed off topic-recidivism rates for pedophiles and other criminals as well as filicide in other cases without a tie to Kyron's case arent really moving the discussion along imo.

I still believe that Kyron was part of a group that toured other class rooms, and that he disappeared at a much later time than 845-9AM. I base this on the much picked apart interview of his seatmate that related the conversation between Kyron's teacher and the substitute/helper who mentioned that he was missing from a group of 6. SM would have been long gone. So how does a little boy who is in guided group inside of a school get seperated from his tour and no one sees him??? Let's chew on that perhaps?? Given that he was not fond of strangers (as reported) he seems unlikely to have wandered away with someone who had a good line. Again, JMO.

OK I am leanng towards someone that was familiar with the school as a peripheral player or not directly associated with Kyron. By that I mean a groundskeeper or other personnel that may not be a trusted figure, but at least a familiar one. Same with a relative that may not be oncampus often but has been there.

I have not ruled out a total stranger. By virtue of the fact that Kyron was not reported as particularly assertive but rather was shy and friendly coupled with his love of frogs which was telegraphed to the attendees, he could have been an easy mark to trick.
I am feeling more and more as though this was a crime of opportunity and he was simply walked off the grounds.

I would be curious to see attendance records of anyone that works at the school and as someone said a re-creation of the event. Unfortunately, I do not think there would be clear records as to who was in attendance.

JMHO of course.
Hi Bean. There is a RUMOR to that effect floating around that someone who works at the school {not staff} was absent for several days after Kyron went missing. Even tho this is just a RUMOR it could be you are close to what happened.

It makes me wonder if this person is affiliated in any way with the area of Hwy 30 or Sauvie Island?

Think about it. LE has refused to comment on the last time or place Kyron was seen.

That is not so. LE stated quite clearly and definitively that the last time Kyron was seen was at 9am. They stated clearly and definitely that the last place Kyron was seen was at the south entrance door.

The no comment was solely on by whom he had been seen that last time.

I've put all the press conference raw videos in Kyron's media thread. I realize that's a lot to watch. You can also use advanced search on my name to pull up the quote on the 9am last seen time, as well as the south entrance door last seen place.

HTH

I keep feeling the abductor is:
someone who knew there was no video survellance
someone who had no morning commitments
someone who isn't a parent of a student
someone who is male age 28 to 48
someone driving an suv/van
someone who brought a student to the school as a favor
someone unemployed or works for construction thus the rain a day off
someone not in a suit, but rather jeans, contruction work boots, flannel shirt type, long hair or uncut

anyway can anyone help me. this is what i am thinking.

If anyone would like to start a thread about pedophiles, filicide and more, please do so in the Jury Room. There is only one thread on Kyron and it is going in the wrong direction.

Thanks..what happened to Kyron?

Thanks for this JBean - I've a question. I saw this on the Joran thread and wondered if it also applies to when we call Joran a 'psychopath' or a crazed psychopath...or toss out categories and/or descriptions some of these criminals seem to fit into...I'm afraid to give examples but would love clarification. lol TIA

Ya know, I've been wondering why LE isn't asking the community to think about their family members, coworkers, neighbors or acquaintances who have not shown up for work or a regular activity. Someone whose behavior or habits may have changed recently. Just trying to generate leads. I guess they aren't interested in that kind of info for whatever reason. Seems like it could be relevant.
